Amen Donna. I’m 49 and thought my mother was to strict! Growing up Pentecostal and thought she was being mean cause we couldn’t hang out like my friends! I Thank My mom everyday for the protection! I was the same with my 2 kids now 30 and 22 and neither one of my Black young men were in the streets! My Husband and I raised them the same way! GOD IS GOOD💯🙏

I do believe it may damage you in ways that you don’t even realise but I am always grateful no matter what because I know that there is always worse out there. Nana you have been through so much and may God bless you for the person you are today. If I’m honest I don’t blame Nana for feeling how she does towards her mum because if I went through what you did, I honestly think I’d feel the same. You’re an inspiration and such a strong woman. Nana said her mother was a 13 year old girl. Nana also said her mother’s family were “ a bunch of pedophiles”, so the that tells me all I need to know about why her mother was who she was.
