One of the biggest differences between baseball and cricket is that the soil used to make the pitches plays a pivotal role in cricket. Also the weather conditions.

That is a hell of a lot more complicated than a simple full toss. Not to mention you must hit it with a ROUND BAT, not a flat bat.

Not comparing only telling differences baseball is tough to bat because batter have round bats but in cricket it's easy to bat as they have broader bats. Both sports are great 👍💯

And the ball is nowhere near as hard and fast as baseball fielders. Baseball short stops and outfielders are clocked throwing in the 90 mile per hour range quite often by their statcast. Cricketers simply do not do that, and if they do... its incredibly rare.

2. Cricket batters can play more strokes all around the ground
3. Cricket batters don't have to be big powerful behemoths
4. Cricket batters can put on a batting performance where they continue to hit ' homers ' until they get out
5. Cricket bowlers can be fast, medium, slow
6. Cricket bowlers can send the stumps flying
7. Cricket bowlers rotate so that you can see more in action
8. Cricket fielders have to hit the stumps to effect a run-out (smaller target than throwing to fielder)
9. Cricket fielders have to catch with their bare hands
10. Cricket players have to be better behaved. No arguing with umpire, fighting, kicking dust etc

Cricket is not just about hitting the ball out of park. It's more about adapting to different situations. It's also not about just rotating your hips, waist and shoulder to generate power. It's about using your wrists, getting into different positions as per the particular delivery thrown at you, agility, patience, presence of mind, reading the field, reading the situation etc.

1. Play ground
Cricket- whole size 🍕
Baseball- is slice 🍕
2. Equipment
Bat
Cricket - flat long wooden paddle
Baseball- narrow elongated
3. players 11 each
4 one innings per team and all 11 players get to bat or until the limited pitches are completed
5. This format is limited to 120 pitches per inning for each team
6. Pitcher(bowler is the right terminology) can only pitch 6 pitches at a time and need to switch to other pitcher.
It's not complicated it take few games to understand.

Cricket shots have more finesse; and it requires proper way of head position, handling of bat, movement of bat , positioning of feet, timing, power and concentration . Sometimes , shots require more wrist work . Sometimes you get down on one knee and hit . Sometimes you must pull it to the Leg Side with power . Thus, there is more variety and subtle beauty of shots in Cricket when in comparison to Baseball .
The upcoming World Cup contains 20 Overs per Innings, and each team shall play one Innings . So each game is three hours . However, if you want to see a game of cricket in which qualities like Patience and Perseverance gets higlighted, then you must watch the 5-Day Cricket match , known as a Test Match .

Baseball is mostly a pitcher's game. Whereas cricket is an all team effort where every person matters.
Batting in baseball is one-dimensional, where you are restricted within foul lines. Hit it fair and you must run no matter what. And your batting for that at-bat is over.
In cricket a batter can bat as long as he doesn't get out. Has the option to run or not if he feels he will be safe. Has the ability to play 360° degree all around the ground and hit some crazy unorthodox shots. Whereas in baseball it's the same typical one kind of swing or an occasional bunt shot.
And there's still more differences between cricket and baseball.

But in Cricket you will need a lot more than just power hitting or power throwing
Because the ball pitches on the ground, there is Seam movement, bouncers, Swinging ball is not the same, leg spin, off spin. Batsmen will have to deal with all this
While baseball, you throw the ball and hit the ball
Once you start playing cricket putting aside preconceived notions or prejudiced thoughts imposed on you and try to enjoy the game of cricket, you will love it
Just make sure to play with proper equipment and in a proper ground
One distinct beauty of cricket is you don't have to really well built to master the game. You can use your skills more rather than brute strength. But you can't do that in Baseball. That's a Fundamental difference in thought process.

@@Campserchers sure. few of the most fundamental differences are:
1) the playing area in cricket is 360°. You are allowed to hit the ball anywhere unlike in baseball where u can bit only forward.
2) there are two types of bowlers in cricket - fast bowlers and spin bowlers.
3) the ball is generally bowled by bouncing it off the pitch. the cricket ball is not completely smooth like a baseball ball. a cricket ball has something called 'seam' at the centre of it. so when the ball hits the pitch, it turns slightly in a certain direction depending on the seam position. this adds a level of difficulty for the batsman.
4) cricket is not just about hitting the ball out of the park. there are grounded shots in cricket as well. in general, the variety of shots in cricket is far more than baseball.
5) in baseball there is home run. in cricket there is 4 and 6. if the batsman hits the ball directly out of the boundary line, it's a 6. if the ball first bounces off the ground and then crosses the boundary then it's a four.
6) a batter only gets to bat once in a match. so initially the batsman plays defensive shots and later on and when he is set, he tries to be more aggressive.
7) fielders don't use gloves in cricket. they have to use bare hands.
