    Hi, I have question regarding plumbing system for cascading/stacking/staggering apartment housing design(e.g. Altair Residences by Safdie Architects). How do the sanitary pipings work? Do they follow the slanting angle of the apartment as well? I'd appreciate it if you could help advice me on this issue.

    It always depends on what is running inside the pipe .
    Toilet, paper grease, makes it clogged rapidly. There is nothing for life we always need to maintain waist pipe against lime scale.
    I prefer two waist pipe columns one for toilets the other one for kichens and bathrooms.

      In many countries in Europe (e.g. Switzerland, Germany, Austria) the drainage systems are designed as single stack systems without separating black and grey waste water.
      Most important to prevent clogging of drainage pipes is correct design and dimensioning of the drainage system, especially when it comes to low-liter flush toilets.
      With Geberit SuperTube we are offering a hydraulically optimized single stack drainage system that mainly prevents critical over- and under pressure in the drainage system.

    What if there is a blockage, will a Plumber’s snake be able to go through this fitting, seems very obstructive. Also in 40-50 years how would you repair without opening walls or ceilings? I am a Pipelining Technician, rehabilitating deteriorated DWV lines. This “Sovent” would not be linable...

    • @GeberitGroup
      @GeberitGroup  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can clean it with the standard tools. By the way, one part of the system, the Sovent, is available since 1970 so we have some years of experience with it. :-)

    When these are plugged and someone lucky enough to fish a cable down the line, does a 4" diameter ball of wipes or rags come back? As a drain cleaning company we are refusing jobs that have this system.

      Butt welding joint with HDPE is the best option (pressure tight up to 3 bars)

      This system is currently not approved for the US as you have a quite different system as we in Europe.

    Seeing stuff like this makes me wish Kentucky was a little less strict on their codes, because this would be absolutely illegal. No wet vents are allowed at all. Every fixture has to be individually vented within a span of a couple feet depending on the pipe size.

    • @GeberitGroup
      @GeberitGroup  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do understand your point and we worked hard on getting all approvals.

    • @say_goodnight7342

      @@GeberitGroup lol im not saying I like your system. In fact I believe there are way to many variables, and that the system will never work as good as an individual vent-per-fixture system that our code requires. There are just way to many variables for any wet vent, and to install anything as such is just asking for trouble, and not taking pride in your workmanship. That said, I do believe there is a time a place for your system, such as where you are unable to individually vent a number of fixtures in a remodel, and I believe this, paired with a main vent would do the job. But, it also comes down to cost. I guarantee that the fittings in the system alone cost too much to be a suitable substitute.

    • @nostradumbass4984
      @nostradumbass4984 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@say_goodnight7342 There is absolutely no reason to vent every fixture. I´m a plumber in Germany, and we have ZERO issues with the way we vent.

      it is on paper but in reality it is really bad especially in kitchens and laundry lines have the tendency of building soap scum on the walls of the pipes slowing down the flow of the water and clogging the system up
      i am a Facility Director in a property management company here in Florida and my complex have that system we had to do a monumental project to solved the situation of laundry and kitchen lines getting clogged with devastating catastrophic water damages
      definitely not recommended for those applications
