Keywords to help with search results. these may or may not be related to the watch being reviewed: Omega Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday moonswatch, Swatch, Pagani Design PD1701 - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
I have both the 1860 and 1863. Both are fantastic and a huge leap over my Pagani V3. I keep the 1860 on the bracelet as my Moonwatch homage, and the 1863 on a variety of straps. I agree - if you're cost constrained the 1860 is an excellent homage. But the 1863 is my favorite - the crystal (and thinner rehaut) and the thinner bezel makes it a stunner.
I have the PD1701 V6 which is my daily and the ceramic bezel is really a better design for me- shame about the lumen though.
Congrats on the new Omega!
@@skduncan1974 thank you!
Wow - these are nice changes. This really helps to slim the watch in a very subtle way! Honestly, I think I prefer the old logo though. But that's just me.
Thank you for the comparison video. I don't have a Speedmaster and will probably never have a chance to own the real thing, so I might as well get the newest version. Thanks again 👍
I have the 1861. You convinced me to upgrade to the 1863!
Will be uploading again soon 🙏
@@WatchSniper enjoy!
Thanks for the comparison side by side, Steve.
Congrats on your Goldeneye Seamaster!
Thank you! Loving it!
Thanks for going over the revisions, I REALLY wish they would get rid of the push pins for the bracelet and go to screws for sizing. I HATE push pins.
Why?
I love my WD1862 ! But if there is a very good price on the WD1863 in the future, I might get it and sell mine 🙂 Thanks for the video !
Great comparison think theyve nailed it with the 1863....
Great video - thanks very much.
I'd LOVE the white/blue version you shown in the image towards the end - do you know if this is something Watchdives are planning to actually produce? I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
Thanks for this
One thing that I don’t love about the Omega that you’re wearing is the short minute hand. I think it would look a lot better if it would touch the minute markers (printed ones). I have the blue face Watch Dives titanium NTTD homage and the minute hand is long and reaches the minute markers, looks fantastic and it’s my favorite Watch Dives watch. I also own their speedy homages in black and white, version 2 and 3 respectively.
Gorgeous, wonderful refinements.
I think I (somewhat accidentally) have an 1861 arriving soon. (Was too excited about $84 shipped for a pre-owned, and didn't realize which variant I actually had selected.) OTOH, as you suggested yourself, had I gotten a v2, I don't know that I'd make the effort to return/sell it for a v3.
But tbh I can't even remember if I was aware of the v3? Did this /just/ release? Either way, my mistake might benefit insofar as I'll likely end up getting a v3 at some point.
Not sure I 100% love that racing iteration as-is, but very eager to see it refined, too!
I've returned 3 watches via AliExpress with no issues.
Congrats on the new watch!
“You there, boy, what day is it today?”
“Why it’s Speedy Tuesday Sir!” 😅
Thanks for the great comparison! Hope the kiddos get better soon!
@@adk7962 thank you!
Kids are doing much better...back to school they go 😂
Excellent comparison! I wanted their white speedy but finally opted for the Timex Legacy Tonneau (the case is similar to that of a speedy Mark II), which brings a little variety to the collection. The checkered speedy is the “Tintin”, not a racing model. The Snoopy and gold/black look good. A 57 series would be great.
@@rioriggs3568 they have the racing one as well, the orange accented one...IIRC the dial is black, not gray, but still racing inspired. They have a TON of teaser versions out there, only time will tell what actually comes out.
@@EscapeWheelNice!! They have definitely convinced me.
9:24 That Speedy homage (Schumacher edition?) on the right is INCREDIBLE! I already own the V2 and the V3, but I would get that version for sure!
For real, when is that bad boy coming out?
It's just one that was teased. No confirmation it's coming yet, but I have a feeling it's close.
@@BluntInstrument007 also, that's referred to as the "tintin" model. Sumacher version has a checkered dial and a little bit of orange in the chapter ring along with the red.
If they release that TinTin version, I'll be first in freaking line. I tried to buy the Philyda one on several occasions, but they were always out of stock. I love that dial.
@ Having looked up both the Schumacher edition and the "TinTin" model, I have to say that I actually prefer the Schumacher edition with that pop of orange in there. Either way, both versions would be absolutely awesome and I'd buy either in a heartbeat. I can't think of the name, but there is also a Speedy out there with multiple planets at the chronograph registers, love that one too! I just love a bit of playfulness and quirkiness on such a classic, monochromatic watch.
It would be nice if Watchdives could start including the ST19 manual chrono in some models. We need more options between Pagani Design and San Martin.
Why does the omega on your wrist ticks rather than sweeps ?
@@hrishabhjain933 it's a quartz movement. They made these in the mid-nintys. "James Bond" was issued this exact watch reverence (2541.80) in the movie GoldenEye. His character later wore the Automatic version of the same watch
I would be interested in hearing more about anyone waring expensive watches in London currently, and the threat of gangs attacking and stealing their watch from a person. I would think twice sadly on waring my Speedy there.
The bracelets on these are sharp... like a hard edge. I had to pay a local guy to polish it for me (I was partially refunded when complained on ali)
@@mlorenzoblack they never bothered me really. I know some are more sensitive though. I recently got a Forstner bracelet for my Seamaster...they are a high end bracelet maker. It's better than these, but still not the best. I'd rate the "softness" of the edge a 6, the WD a 7.5 and Pagani a 9.
@@EscapeWheel yeah, pagani definitely have a better bracelet (I got 3). Other than that , great watch!
@mlorenzoblack you misunderstood me...I feel their bracelets are even sharper than watchdives. Forstner is the softest. I've had a couple Pagani 1701' and all versions of the Watchdives speedy. But again, we are all different people with different sensitivities
Is this the first non-homage wrist check? Looks good, great state for a brosnan omega
@@TheSociologySpot lol, nah. I've got a few originals in the collection now.
Thanks for this. I think I’ll stick with version 2.
@@cascais2000 and I don't blame you 👍. Enjoy it! And thanks for watching!
Versions 2 and 3 may have slimmer midsections, but much of that reduction results in a "protruding" caseback. The watch ends up "bowl-ing/floating" atop your wrist. And that's weird. That alone makes me prefer the 1861. Not to mention I've an 8-inch wrist and the bigger size suits me just fine.
I bought the 1863 which is on the way to me as I write. Now that I see the comparisons it does look a little too small but I doubt I'll notice or even care once I receive it! Another reviewer really trashed the bracelets, citing that they're loose, rattly, trap hairs and are 'sharp' but I suspect he's one of those people who wears a watch loose and 'over the knuckle' (i.e. the wrong way). I had a real Speedy about 15 years ago and I sold it. I wish I hadn't but I'm no longer able to afford or justify luxury watches anyway now.
I just received one white 1863 today, the bracelet is really loose and sharp compared to all my other SM watches, the buckle is totally not acceptable, both top and bottom are very sharp, I am thinking to smooth it using sandpaper now, quite disappointed for my first watch on Watchdives, but it is nice to wear if swapping to FKM rubber strap
@@samsonlai852 How is the bracelet when it comes to 'rattle' - is it loose as some have suggested?
There is a quite a large gap between end link and bracelet which can be improved, now when I wear this bracelet I can hear the noisy sound. I prefer WD do better job on the bracelet in next version and I accept to pay more because I love the dial very much.
@@samsonlai852 I think this gap might be solved with using fatter spring bars but we'll see.
I love your reviews very thorough and informative. And particularly appreciate the strap changes. But, as a fellow above average size wristed human, you're killing me with constantly pushing for smaller watches. Watches trended way to big and but now they're going overboard the other way. It's getting to the point where there won't be any affordable 40 + mm watches. Thankfully San Martin is starting to offer multiple sizes.
I'm doing my best 🤣. I'm starting to settle into that 39-41mm range and pushing any ears that'll listen. Watchdives being #1...they are going to have a out 5 sub 39mm divers in their range...I told them they need to bump up their sizes a bit.
I wish a company would make a speedy homage with a mechanical movement i prefer mechanical chronograph watches over the quartz/mecha-quartz movements
@@dariuswackydawgblake3380 Phylida has one...but it's kind of "meh" compared to this one.
I'd like to see what watchdives could do with one though.
@ that’s what I mean I’ve looked at the Phylida one and I’m tempted to get one, but I want a company like watch dives to comes out with one I think they’d execute it perfectly they’ve done amazing work
I hate this downgrading in the size! Why do they do this? Women don´t like chronos Nice comparison, thanks for that 👍
Go get an invicta
@@jackdren9974 Why? My wife is manager at Panerai 😎
@@holgermuller3597So..?
1862 has a better feel than 1863
Have the S2. If they made a panda version I’ll be all over it!
@@multipl3 they have teased quite a few versions, I hope that's one as well 🤞
AT LAST
they all looks the same,
Exactly. Got 1860. No need to spend twice for the same movement and nothing much different going on
All junk
Probably 😂😂😂
