First Weeks of Van Life | Starting Our Road Trip In An Unfinished Vintage Camper Van

- It’s time to hit the road! Although we didn't finish the van build completely; we finished our packing and are off to Texas to view the solar eclipse, and enjoy the sights along the way. We were able to see all 6 national parks on our route - Joshua Tree, Saguaro, White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns, Guadalupe Mountains and Big Bend! In addition we had some other fun, unique and even just ordinary memories on our journey to see The 2024 Total Solar Eclipse in Texas.
Was it worth leaving in an incomplete van? Spoiler alert: We think so :)

Love the pillow idea! Did something similar for the kids’ stuffies in a bean bag. The girls said they now want to travel to pistachioland and white sand dunes but with Oliver and they want him to roll around in the sand with them lol. They also want Sonia to curl their hair.

Saguaro is pronounced "Sa - WAH - ro." I'm thinking that you were in the Tucson Mountain District of Saguaro National Park since you were driving on a unpaved road, as there are some unpaved roads in that portion of the park.

Yes you’re right, we started in that area and stayed to trails the rangers recommended for our van and for pets! And for our overnight stays we were just outside the park in a privately hosted camp :)
