It's called racing, not tire management. I agree with Micheln make the best tire you can. Let the cars and the drivers determine the winner not tire strategy.
The FIA can implement other rules to make strategy important. Remember the thime cars could refuel during the race. In other words the start weight of the car would be variabel. And with that corner speeds and acceleration. Of coarse they can maximize the fuel consumption (which does not block the introduction of refuelling) to force the developers to make their cars more efficient. (Changing downforce for less energy usage by reducing drag ) The FIA does not need that tyres degrade for spectacle.
Never been a fan of the high deg tyre regime. About time they got rid. And one the phrases that gets my goat is " tyre whisperer." I say bring back tyre wars. We want real racing.
Unfortunately Pirelli had to concede to the FIA request. I think lifting this requirement can bring back tire wars again. Although, with all this talk of 0 emissions and 0 carbon footprint, not too sure if we would ever get another tire war. That being said, I think if Bridgestone came back and took things over, we'd see some major progress in terms of performance..
The artificial forcing of tyre changes is running the racing creating artificial problems for the teams the best car and driver can have there race ruined by tyres which suddenly go bad losing them the race
Just stop with the 2 different tire demand, so teams can do soft, soft, or hard or whatever, it makes the race more unpredictable because now they know that after a medium it has to be a soft or a hard if it’s a 1 stopper. Then it will be possible to only use one set for the whole race.
Typical French outfit trying to have the tail wagging the dog.. get with the program, it’s about creating the challenge for engineering and strategy, just happens to coincide with an entertainment factor
F1 needs multiple tire suppliers. Teams can pick the best supplier for a given race track. Let’s have more strategy and less BS.
@@SurviveTheDay right on. Motor sport. R. U listening???
Let them race. Have 2 or even 3 tire suppliers
F1 is eonough of a tightly controlled physics lab.
Totally agree, if you have only one tire choice, what's next only one engine manufacturer?

I say let them all in. Can you imagine 3+ tire manufactures in a race
Go Michelin for the win :)

Michelin tires is what gave Alonso his 2 championships
Fuel limits will still force drivers to baby their cars even with good tires. Just means they can be a bit rougher in the corners or on defense.
Imagine, instead of having to race with two different tire compounds in 1 race, they have to use 1 Michelin set and 1 Pirelli set each Race.
In 2005 only Ferrari, Jordan and Minardi started the US Grand Prix on Bridgestone.
bring back two tyre companies.
Bring Back the Tyre wars PLEASE! This way we will get the best tyres possible. Go Michelin Man.
Personally I think that the biggest winner of non-degrading tires would be Oscar Piastri.
Give them a choice of suppliers and if they degrade over say - 1000 or 10 000 miles that would be OK.
To quote the great Ayrton Senna: "F1 is not a show"
So the return of the tire struggle will be interesting for Michelin🇨🇵 and Bridgestone🇯🇵. At least continental 🇩🇪
Why would Michelin ruin their business strategy by supplying shoddy goods?
What about the 90s before the grooves when there was goodyear as well
High-deg tires need to go the way of DRS....in the trash bin .

I for one am so sick of the F1 grip on everything the fans want and do not get!!!! Tires that degrade, please??? Great video BTW!!!

The crap designed quick wear for tires is just another gimmick in F1.
2 tyres mandated pitstops
Thanks
"stunning"
