We called it ulang here in the Philippines...a kind of brackish water shrimp living in the calumpit river in bulacan. Usually they can easily catch this kind of shrimp during rainy season and high tide. That is the perfect timing to catch shrimp coz its breeding season. Very tasty and fills your hungry stomach :)

Couldn’t have imagined fishing shrimps with a line!!!...and what a size!..look like tiger shrimps!..love it!!...wonder if they sell them afterwards or keep them for themselves..definitely addictive!!...what a relaxing video by the way...
I could live out the rest of my life like this! No cellphone. No emergencies. No running out to work at 2am. No headaches. Head out fish for shrimp to bring home to the family. Call some friends over to enjoy the harvest. Sell whatever is left over. If you still have shrimp left go fishing for bigger fish and start the cycle all over again! How beautiful is this vision? One Day I will retire and do this! 😁👍

I remember years ago fishing for these prawns with one of my late uncle in the Philippines. The best part was we would bring tomatoes, onions and rice and we would cook some for lunch before heading back home. Still tell these food stories to fellow chefs today, crabs from waterfalls was also on the list. Good memories.

Very true....I'm from Shillong Northeastern India......out here almost everyone loved fishing.....once you start fishing all tensions n even hunger vanishes irrespective of whether we catch anything or not.
