To me that looks like a great option for passengers that don't mind paying a little more for a better experience. The price looks comparable to a premium economy fare on a major airline. I would definitely try it if they ever come to my neck of the woods in New Orleans.
Yeah this JSX service seems nice. Do you still have to take your laptop out and shoes off? seems like your still going through the hassle of commercial flight but paying more?
I think it’s a neat niche. A Captain friend of mine has a wife who has been flying an RJ for a regional for 20+ years. Loves it, home every night. The ultra low cost Allegiant is another carrier that hits the really small airports and the crews get home every night. A lot of our friends locally love flying out of Rockford or Bloomington IL. They just don’t want to deal with Chicago. That goes along with how the airline of luv came in to its own, by not doing exactly what everyone else is doing, and expecting better results. They created several niche characteristics unique to their brand. It wasn’t a stroke of genius on my part that I ended up there. In those days, you went where you were hired. Although, I will say that the aviators I interviewed with were all from legacy carriers, and they were very arrogant towards me, and I responded with all smiles and nothing but respect, and that was in fact why I was hired and they weren’t. So I did have something to do with my luck. Very nice video.
Hey Ern! Thanks for the review! I’m one of the training supervisors here at JSX and we appreciate your thoughts. If you ever make it into Dallas let us know, we’ll be glad to show you around.
Hi Ernie. I enjoyed your JSX review. I fly it sometimes from SoCal or Las Vegas to get back to Oakland …if of course Southwest is sold out or if the time is convenient. I kinda like the Oakland terminal as it’s walking distance to the hotels near the airport. But you’re right about the pricing and the check-in time is the main giveaway for me. Thanks for sharing take care
I fly JSX from John Wayne to Vegas and I will never fly another airline for this trip. The staff is extremely professional and I will pay more for convenience anytime. Time is money and I save so much time flying JSX.
I've flown JSX twice including just yesterday. I waaaay prefer it to the airlines and the disaster that is the terminals. Casual and quiet atmosphere at the FBO. Smaller aircraft with their Embraers and I loved sitting in a single seat row. I will always choose JSX if it's an option.
My DAL to LAS round trip on JSX was simply outstanding. No TSA, no waiting forever for your checked bags, no crowded terminals. Next best thing to NetJets. Cheers 🥂
seen em charter in to little ol small Town Shawnee,Ok 30 miles east of OKC, outa Dallas love feild! Also up to Rapid city,SD!so them towns are possibel for the right buck im sure lol lol lol enjoyed the review n good work!
Hey, I got an off-topic question. Are Southwest aircraft LPV capable (IAN option)? If yes, do you enter WAAS channel number into MMR before executing approach and fly with APP mode instead of VNAV/LNAV? Thanks
No, the 737 under 121 are not LPV capable... they have cat I or cat II or Cat III opspecs by FAA that allow them to go below published mins.... however, having flown the 737...i have never seen one with LPV, it would cost millions more as an add on to avionics. It wouldn't be worth it
I personally have to admit with WN I have done that before where since I have precheck I have been lucky when running late I was able to get through security within 10-20 mins before the flight. Of course now I always try and get to the plane about 1 hour before departure with carryon only.
I live in phx aswell, flew with jsx 3 years ago to Vegas and I can't fly any other way I think it's worth every penny. There were multiple California choices but they settled on just burbank now. I actually show up 10min before 😅
Thank you for the review Ernie! I was wondering...the round trip to vegas in JSX is less or more expensive than taking your Green Hornet from Scottsdale?
i’m probably overthinking this but it would’ve been better if you showed more/reviewed more inside the plane like a view of take off/landing. the service etc..Also CaptainSelfie (ex swa) is now a captain for JSX!
Ern, I love JSX, and have taken the ride from PHX to LAS many times with them, but don't you have the privilege to just hop on one of the many daily non-stop SWA flights for free to Vegas?
JSX are suppose to retrofit their fleet with better room experience, wood-finished tray tables, and better seats. Not sure if that is what you were able to snag on your flight.
Thanks, great interesting video Ern, what type is A/C? Ticket PHX to LAS is expensive, but weigh in what it saves in time, TSA understanding where they fly. I don’t need to fly except with friends small planes, I wish could depart from PAN (Payson). But can’t.
I heard the hype about JSX and wanted to give them a shot. For sure flying the Cirrus would be the best. No beating that… well maybe except with that Gulfstream😁
JSX is just one step from the major regional jet services like American Eagle, Piedmont, Envoy Air, Mesa, Delta Connection, etc for 3X the cost. Only difference is the airport terminal access🤷🏾♂️
Ha! Good question. I figured some would wonder that. Honestly my channel is about aviation and my love for it. It’s not a Southwest channel, although I do love flying for them and they’ve been very gracious in allowing me to bring my work life to everyone. Now I will promote my company MJets😁. If you’re in the market for a Private Jet or Aircraft Management visit flymjets.com👍🏽 We even have hangar space available fall of 2023 at DVT. 👌🏽
JSX flies as many people in a year as Southwest flies in... Five minutes? One minute? Fourteen seconds? Which of course doesn't preclude someone in Corporate being rubbed the wrong way.
Until you work with JSX at a FBO as a Line Service guy, their aircrafts are the biggest pile of dog poo I have ever seen and worked with. Everybody on my team absolutely hates working with their aircrafts. I would still work for them as a pilot if they ever offered me a position with them to build hours to make it to the regionals at least lol.
It must be somewhat discouraging for a man who makes his living flying for a major airline to admit that the experience of actually travelling via the major airlines is unpleasant.
DO NOT FLY JSX. I SHOWED UP FOR THE FLIGHT AND THERE WAS A MECHANICAL FAILURE. THEY PUT ME ON A COACH FLIGHT (Southwestern.) HOWEVER THEY DID NOT REFUND THE DIFFERENCE. THEY GAVE ME A CREDIT FOR A FUTURE FLIGHT!!
@@KuostA He meant that all similar aircraft with tail-mounted engines are sensible on the trim and that's just a pilot thing (more like a physics thing). E135-145 pilots make fun of in cruise trim system working when a FA walks from aft to the front galley and vice versa.
Because he's right SWA sucks man, unless the flight is empty.... everybody is panicking and freaking out to get the seat of choice, no WIFi, and no good snacks or food😂
Mesa Gateway would be a great airport as well.

They fly big time into KBJC here in Broomfield Colorado. Seems to be going well for them.

I've looked into them for an upcoming trip next year but will likely opt for WN when that Spring break schedule opens up
Love JSX! Great flying experience.
I’ve heard nothing but great things about JSX! Looking forward to flying on them one day. Or fly for them! ✈️
Thank you for your review.. Flying out of Broomfield,Colorado soon..
Nice and your a pilot so I will try with family and your believable nothing for Phx to east coast yet but I’ll go commercial for that . Keep pushing!

Nice Pad ! You need to organize a Pilots cook out !
I agree with JSX flying out of Scottsdale. OH and I’m a student pilot and I was invited to complete some things for the cadet program with southwest
Just flew from Dallas to white plains. Great experience.
This one of those TH-cam channels I like before even watching the video
Love the FBO experience, considering how much cheaper it is than charter pretty excellent
I really love the gulf stream G 700 i’m just short by $90 million
I see JSX has taken over the old Mesa airlines ground school building. Big windows out onto the taxiway.
Like the video!

I had an excellent experience with JSX. I flew DAL- MIA .
We fly out of Scottsdale now.😁😁😁😁😁
Why do I keep hearing they are 2-3 hours late? Complaints of maintenance issues?
Love you're home, but what happened to Southwest flying?
I still fly for and on Southwest. Just giving everyone another option if you’re willing to spend a little more.
As much as we Love Big Ern, I'm not sure that a big money SW Captain, is a fare and inpartial, review, but you were honest in your review.
Great info, Ern. Thanks for sharing.

It should the word "here" not herr.Herr.. Thanks.
Great review, Ernie.
Looks pretty sweet to me, not the all the mess with going into the terminals
Especially for the summer👍🏽
Any new Southwest videos?
Coming soon, just got a new camera!

I hope so! That would really improve the customer experience.

Yes, we have a Gulf Stream!!!
JSX has a fairly substantial route system.
A lil too liberal, but if you put that aside, it's nice

ERJ-135

Big Ern, you must have went directly from the Military to SW if you didn't know a Erj 135 from a 145...
Does swa require the logo lights to be on during flights
why?
@@KuostA just wondered
We can’t talk about JSX, this is my go to non rev secret airline. Can’t let the people know about this 😂.
Awesome ! Btw JSX is CASS and ZED able …
What is cass and zed
JSX is my favorite way to fly commercial!
Looks like a regional airline to me!
Is JSX the only part 380/135 airline?
I’ve noticed a few more starting up around the country. I’d be very interested in PHX-Cabo👍🏽

Never too late to chase your dram my friend. Go for it!

Great vdieo!
Hey Ernie, do 121s have jumpseat agreements with JSX? Wondering if I could hitch a ride one day.
They do
Ah, and did you come away a winner or loser in Vegas? All the best!

how was he?

Yes, or St Pete/Clwtr

Embraer the best.
Nice!
Seats can't be any worst than SWA.
For all the people that say "Flying on a private jet today"- -JsX is not flying private
its semi private
