    After watching that Bama/UGA game last night, it is quite apparent that those teams are not on a whole new level…they are about 5 levels above our Pack. And it’s not just player talent level, it’s coaching and play calling. Especially offense play calling. I’ll take the win, but when we get into Cal and SMU…stale play calling isn’t going to get it done.

    • @LockedOnWolfpack

      Yes, but that’s not exactly new info. It’s always been that way. NC State needs to focus on being the best version of NC State

      @@LockedOnWolfpackactually what you need to be focusing on is firing a coach you have had for 12 years that has done absolutely nothing in the terms of post season play. Baffles my mind how much the university does not care about their program. NC State isn’t a great football team and it isn’t a bad football team. It’s virtually just there. That’s it. Someone said the top 5 poverty programs right now is North Carolina, Clemson, Miss State, NC State and Michigan St. and I couldn’t agree any more. These teams are just here doing absolutely nothing but winning a few meaningless games a year. And getting destroyed by superior programs

Freshman and 1st year starters have ups an downs, let them rip and live with the ups and downs, it will benifit you in the long run as long as the kid learns from the mistakes and doesnt repeat them again and again.

    Ball needs to be distributed to multiple targets, but on the other hand it’s tough to do with only 40-some offensive plays from scrimmage the whole game!!! Stale indeed, like a root canal.

    Does the problem run deeper? Dave was a great coach at NIU, two 11 win seasons. Mack Brown was a great coach at Texas, won a Natty. Tom O'Brian was a great coach at pre ACC Boston College. These are all great proven coaches. For the 130 + years of UNC and NCSU football, the winning percentage is 56% and 51.6% respectively. Is there something in the water? I think the job of an AD should be to remove obstacles so that the sports can flourish and coaches shine. At least some of the time. The problem may be more systemic than 130 + years of inertia. I am puzzled and tired of blaming coaches who can only work within the university framework. This comment may be too big picture, I was a child when Roman Gabriel was QB and I want better answers.

      As for Doeren it's easier to win at a lower level than Power 5 (or is it Power 4 now?). As for Mack I think a couple of things... one he's older now and probably lost that drive, and also Texas has a lot more money than UNC when it comes to football.
      I think for State, Doeren has peaked and it's time to go with a young DC or OC from a top program or try to steal away Kentucky's HC and throw everything we got at that deal. But a change is a must and I wouldn't even wait for season's end.

    The play calling is stupid! Way too conservative on offensive play calling. This has to stop. Throw the damn ball down the field. The risk aversion of not turning the ball over has handicapped their explosive potential on offense in the passing game. Let Bailey throw the ball downfield. Give him some chances to pass the ball to other receivers. The defense was better today but still needs to grow. This coaching staff is way too conservative with the offensive not being aggressive enough. On 3rd down conversions, 1 for 11 there is a serious problem. Our 3rd down conversion rates offensively have been a problem for years. Fix it damn it! Go PACK!

    • @LockedOnWolfpack
      @LockedOnWolfpack  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Definitely looked like they had the training wheels on CJ today. That method will not suffice in the coming weeks. Rip the bandaid off and let him play

      CJ Bailey is not throwing accurate passes. We have no deep threat? He seams to under throw his receivers. Can he not see the field? I know he is tall enough but can he see the entire field? Can lex throw the ball? We need a player at QB

    Watching Mac Brown's postgame vs. Dave Doeren's postgame press conference:
    First question, why is State still doing postgame press conferences via zoom? That is so 2020..
    Second question, and Kenton Gibbs brought up a great point last week, the MEDIA has to be held accountable and start asking tough questions. There are grown men asking Mac Brown tough pointed questions after the game - "why kick a field goal on 4th &2?", "what happened to the defense in the second half?", etc.. and to his credit Mac answered those questions without being rude, condescending and took full responsibility.
    Dave's press conference, on the other hand, the reporters all seem be young and the questions almost seem like they are given to them in advance by ABV. Sans the N&O reporter, who I think was the second to last question and finally asked a question of substance, "Can you explain 1 for 11 on 3rd downs?" Per usual Dave didn't answer the question, that's when we got the "Not going to apologize for a win" and then something about 1st and 2nd down... Just wish for once he would get the same type of postgame as Mac and most other coaches do and make Dave answer tough questions, such as, how and why this team (mostly offense) has gone sideways so fast...
    Grayson and Kenton is there anyway you all could somehow slip past ABV and ask some serious questions, like "How can Noah Rogers get 2 targets/catches on the first drive and get nothing the rest of the game??
