Regarding Katerina Nash's double rear flat, I have to wonder what her team was thinking after? They must have been stunned to see their rider get not one, but two rear flats. All of these riders ride tubeless tires with minimal tread protection, and little sealant, to keep weight down, and new rubber almost every race. You'd have to think though coming into this course, with it's natural features of lots of rocks a little more sealant, maybe a touch less air, would have been the way to go? Hindsight is always 20/20 though.

I noticed a number of narrow framed women prefer wide riser bars. Might be useful on any downhill sections, but on the flat and fast tracks the rider's position is totally compromised, with a resulting loss of outright speed, power and additional time. My other issue with riser bars on a cross country race bike is that because of this width, it limits how far a rider can get behind the saddle and effectively lower the rear of the bikes centre of gravity when in deep & descending. Should be able to get your arse nearly touching the rear tire and downhill bars don't allow it. Just an observation .... otherwise great racing by our female elite.
If she was, I don't think she would hang out with her supplier or doping advisor, or that Armstrong would do that considering there is no gain for himself...no offence to your understandable concern, but you can't incriminate someone for just speaking / spending time with a bad person.
This race is from 2018, while doping took a real toll on XC mtb racing in the mid to late 90's through the 2000's (ask Thomas Frischknecht, John Tomac, Ned Overend) , the backlash against it globally also affected XC as well, as both the testing has become more and more refined, and the stigma for doping more and more strong in the 2010's. I'd have to think anyone at this point would have to be micro-dosing anything, at most. But you never know?

Sadly Emily Batty was not able to repeat her 2018 performances in 2019 and with 2020 a Covid casualty, will she still be riding at elite level in 2021
