Idea! Maybe (maybe) outlining with a Stabillo pencil then applying a tiny bit of water would make the butterfly look like it was burned in, cuz when you burn wood with a tool the burned line sorta "bleeds", y'know? Hmmm. If I get out of bed on this Saturday morning I might give it a try. 😴 LOL. Hugs Pam, MK 🤗♥️🏜♥️🤗

😊Good morning Ms. Pam Paper pants! Good morning journal making friends, I have a little bit of wood images and thought these are the biggest waste of money I’ve spent because I just Never reach for them, Thank you for a way to finally use them, also I use a old vintage typewriter that was in the family for years, My Mom dug it out of the basement for me and that’s how I get words for my journals , it works typing on plain material too, I found the ink for it, ordered it on line, it fired right up and it typed away.

Pam, maybe you could decoupage the Popsicle sticks and use them for a bookmark, or as a frame on front of journals? That might work if you don’t want to have to cut them. 😂 Now I want to try and see if it works.😊❤

Hi Pam! I love the wood pieces in your wood drawer! I must copy that ASAP!
I made a journal for my 90 year old dad. I put lots of memorabilia from his military years and other interest he has had. I bought post cards from eBay featuring his home town and drew a couple of pictures for him. He called me right away and said how much he loves it❤️ I had so much fun making it. Thanks for all your inspiration along the way. On to another journal🤗

Good morning Pam!! I was thinking about using wire to make a shape and then heating up the design with a lighter. Then you could brand the piece of wood with your design. I think that would work really neat. I will try it and report back to you. Your butterfly is very beautiful and would look really nice on the front of a journal. SunBun liked very handsome today. Have a great day and continue creating with reckless abandon.

Pam, I think perhaps your problem with getting a good impression with your stamps starts with you inking process. You rub your stamps on your ink pad. The way most people I see, pounce their stamps on the ink pad, no rubbing. I think the rubbing perhaps removes more ink than it adds to the stamp ridges. I hope this will help. 😉

I made a storage book for my Tim Holtz Christmas Ephemera. It turned out really awesome. I love having it all in a book that I can just turn pages and see the pieces instead of digging through a pile.

Dear Pam thanks a bunch. For the tutorial, I hv animals and I hv also ordered sm others. Ì hv to make 10 journals which follow the same concept but each is unique. I hv material for 5 journals but yet to find materials for the others. U are absolutely correct wen u say cleaning lets u discover items that were missing as well as new find u had forgotten. I hv pressed flowers as well as feathers. That I want to incorporate into my journals. Since time is limited to make the 10 journals I hv decided to only add one signature. I hv to post 5 journals while the other 5 will be hand delivered. First will make 5 for which I hv materials already separated. I hv dedicated spaces in my crafting space for different things for exampls adhesives junk journalling card making paper quilling embroidery etc. This helps me to save time as i hv to only look in the dedicated space for the relevant items. My crafting space is also in my room where i also work and sleep. . So i hv to keep it clean always. The crafting space is larger than the place where i work and sleep and i always say that the crafting place is encroaching into the other areas. I also hv my machine in my room. I also make it a point to collect all materials needed for a project into a tray be4 i start crafting and that saves me a lot of time as i also work 2 jobs. I always collect money and go craft shopping while i rarely shop for clothes. I also buy my stuff at an online shop and that also saves me time. Earlier i was into card making but now i am fascinated by junk journalling which is affordable and more fun as i can be very creative with junk journalling compared to xard making and it is an affordable hobby. I only do it as a hobby and always gift my journals. Your tutorials are very very helpful as u teach even the minute aspects. I hv saved many of your tutorials into my fone for easy reference. I am learning embroidery as i want to incorporate it into my journal. Pls give my hugs to sunburn and as always love u so much. Tc and enjoy the holidays and don't forget to post videos as I am waiting to grab ideas from them.

There are small tools just for dealing with small wood items... things like a mini hand drill, a small saw with a miter box (last I saw, was around $15 for the set with the metal miter box, and the sets using plastic miter boxes were a lil cheaper)... you can also use a utility knife - box-cutter style as it is usually stronger than x-acto style - to carefully cut and trim popsicle sticks, etc. Do it in multiple passes, sharp new blade, and be vigilant.
As for me, I am turning a couple of shallow divided boxes into advent calendars, with a piece of (wrapped lol) "fancy" candy for each day.

Hi Pam! Your talk while you were coloring the butterfly was so inspiring. I tend to do what you described, kind of waiting to use things, and honestly you're so right 👍 they were bought to be used😊
The crayon over stamp idea you used for the wooden tag... Bam!💥

I think I have some of these left over from crafting with the kids, I also have popsicle sticks, there’s lots of inspiration here!

Do know if you ink your stamp and stamp it on a scrap of paper and then ink again, it will always come out darker the second time. You can also make it come out darker if you breathe your moist breath on it before stamping. ...thank you for all your great ideas.

I was wondering if it would be ok to use recent family pictures in the pockets. And my family could write on the back of the photo after gluing to cardstock? Would that still be considered part of junk journaling?
