'Don't ask if you don't want to know the answer': Women's advocate smacks down GOP abortion lies

  • During Wednesday's Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that centered on abortion bans and the implications for interstate travel, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) failed spectacularly when he tried to push the ridiculous Republican talking point that late-term abortions are a common occurrence. GOP fearmongering on abortion is debunked by Joy Reid's expert guests.

Or suggesting the best way to prevent unwanted, out of wedlock pregnancies is to pass a law requiring all unmarried men to undergo vasectomies. Vasectomies are safe, simple, usually reversible outpatient procedures with rare minor treatable complications, and unlike pregnancy, never end in death of the man. But if such a law was ever passed, you can bet they’d be all about bodily autonomy.

Having a choice does not force women either way. "Pro-life" dogma asserts that opposing their rhetoric means being "pro-abortion". No-one is arguing for pro-abortion in all cases but that is what the "pro-life" people claim.
It is important to recognise that opposition to "pro-life" is "pro-CHOICE". Ironically, countries that DO give women a free CHOICE have far fewer abortions.

In fact, I think in many cases, your morality is deeply lacking if all you want is a child born but not a child fed, a child educated, a child housed. And why would I think that you don't? It's pretty simple, if your against abortion, then don't get one! No one is forcing anyone to get an abortion! Everyone should be able to make their own choice on this issue!!
But to strip that away right away from someone to make that decision just because someone else doesn't like that decision IS NOT THE ANSWER AND IS WRONG!!
We are a country made up from many different people, from many different places, with many different beliefs or unbelief for that matter!! No one person's belief is superior to anyone else's!! Just different!!

Sure, homes for unwed mothers...where they took your baby from you even if you wanted to keep it. Where many of these girls were then sterilized , with permission being signed by uneducated parents or approved by social workers. What IS your point?

What’s the point of doctors doing all the training and updates on woman’s care if the advice they give is not recommended, why should politicians decide with no medical training……insane.

I like the phrase, "no longer compatible with life".
I'm going to start using that phrase to describe my day to day vibe.

Republicans are no longer compatible with humanity.
Humans have logic and reasoning skills. They have empathy for others. Republicans lack these basic things and so are not human beings. They're animals.
