I was born in Stafford and remember when traffic used to go through the town centre. It’s look so much cleaner now. I think the shops were better in the old days though. A nice trip down memory lane. Where the sandpit area is within Victoria Park was at one time a large padding pool that was Jam packed in the summer with kids trying to cool down.
thanks for the video, i left the U.K. nearly 60 years ago. my mother did her shopping in Safford when i was a child. it has changed such a lot. but there are a few places i recognise such as the post office which looks as though its bee turned to a cafe now.

Lived in stafford since 60s. And slowly watched a great town Be ruined by council after council. Nothing more than a commuting town for black country. All large manufacturing Companys gone. Keep building houses not for locals, town centre has lost all its little shops. Just banks, charity shops. All the soul of the old town distroyed.
I moved away in 1990 when my dad finished his service in RAF Stafford. I visited in 2022 and it has changed alot the town centre is more like a ghost town. It was lovely when I lived there.

Stafford has changed a lot, the post office is now “The Post House” which is a bar and restaurant

@@acdrchannel124 council made it no go area for traffic. That's why the town died. Noone comes to town centre any more as shops are out of town.
