    WOW - that oboe da caccia has a VERY distinct tone, yet blends well with the other instruments. A range of tonal colors!

      Isn't it a hauntingly beautiful sound? To think that it fell out of use after Bach and was not revived until the 1970s.

    it's is amazing how much better pieces sound when played on the period instruments they were initially written for!

    Two da gambas and one cello providing a highly resonant and powerful bass with the oboe da caccia prominent followed by violin and flute. Frederik's impossible theme masterfully realized.

    A remarkably tender interpretation of a complex piece that often is diluted by an overly dry approach. The scoring is an excellent choice with the haunting voice of the Oboe da Caccia glowing through the texture.

      @@raminagrobis6112 the theme is difficult because of the chromatism which is highly dissonance, and as the rule of counterpoint avoid dissonance which makes it really hard to harmonize it well in a fugue, Bach could came up with something like is which Very incredible that no one is able to reach.

    They sound like broken accordion.... kidding this is astounding, who might even come to mind to play this music back then on the very primitive instruments, but yes it is phenomenal group of these musician. (though i don't like bach other than some cantatas, cello suites it is heavy music only for at home practice, there've been other champions of his time: A. Scarlatti, Handel, Vivaldi with thrilling operas, concertos, arias... who might wish to play Bach's such a dreadful music.. )

    • @alessiocai5573
      @alessiocai5573 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you would understand music at this degree to understand this ricercar 6 voice, i don't think u would call it dread full his pieces, for example Vivaldi's music sounds good but in general is very similar and the excessive abuse of circle of fifths every minute, which sounds good but boring, but Vivaldi use them in a interesting way so it's very unique to certain points, Handel is pretty much the comercial one, there's certain ones that are interesting but overall is dramatic and just trying to make attention and works, Scarlatti which is featured on harpsichord, it's interesting due of the influence of Spanish music, there are more musicians, such as dismas zelenka a very unique baroque composers that was worshipped by many included Bach but it is not very well known, also Antonio caldara one of the most important Italian composers of the contemporary with bach

    • @alessiocai5573
      @alessiocai5573 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bach had written so much pieces and big part of them are very unique and interesting, such as the st Matthew passion, you wouldn't be able to hear in your life time something like that unless u knew it

      @@alessiocai5573 So true, Vivaldi being mediocre opera composer by all means, not sure for his concertos, as a structure more rudiment, absolutely, but who is addressing these concertos to.. hm... that is where the genie comes to play. Handle huh.. commercial, yes to the point, but then, dark, lucid, essence of love, passion, disdain, affection, melancholy just to name it few, all in his operas, Mozart have been studied avidly... Alessandro Scarlatti, namely father of aria, first to bring real man in to focus, revolutionary by all means... So
      what was your question.. where Bach fits in.. sorry I am loosing the previous discussion about 6 voices fugato, polyphony...

      @@stickom how can it be dreadful, ive been playing Bach for years and most of his works, are just pure genius, very deep, didactic and just something unique you couldn't expect from anyone, just as his master, Dietrich Buxtehude, this guy's organ work is out of the understanding, combined with Bach's skills is something so unique and complex, but music just subjective, depends on how you give merits and values, in my perspective one subjected to heavy old archaic style and rules and still can output this immense dexterity and creativity nourishing deeply of what it's been already, is something pure genius and unique that i never seen in my life, Bach masses, st passions are just out of this world and makes me cry when i listening it sometimes because of how good it is, the more you listen his music new things you will discover, because each note has importance, same as a silence, Bach doesn't place just a filling note, when You listen with determination these background notes just has same importance as the harmony, rhythm or melody, any other musicians you can take off some notes and wouldn't even matter, Bach knew what he was writing and the amount needed and exactly.
