Because chief knew wayne couldn’t afford that. I mean thats a huge payout. If he was confident in his car, he would do it for a reasonable bet to at least get a payday.

As a 4 decade long Florida resident, I can tell you 100000% that those old timers they dug up for the show were not Florida's fastest. If anything, they were Florida's OLDEST racers.
