An excellent reason to wait until the grandkids are adults and know better than to judge their grandfather for his actions. Especially the part where their grandfather literally fought gods and monsters to survive. And how he, unfortunately, had to either lose or sacrifice a lot of good soldiers along the way to make it back. And all over a span of two decades. The grandkids will need to understand just how hard it is to be away from home for so long while having to survive and bring home as many soldiers as possible.
Odysseus and Wukong acted like real players here. This is how I also prefer to take my enemies down in video games. Long range, in the shadows, and if possible, aim for the head (though I'm open to explosive means too, I'm not THAT picky, as long as I'm left in the shadows). Might not be the most honorable thing to do, but half the times, ends matter more than the means.
