- After a long break, I am finally back to Rappelz but a lot has changed since I've been away and it's time to get serious now. Between having Play2bit as a new publisher to new TP Quests and events, let's see what the future of Rappelz looks like right now. And just remember, Rappelz is a free-to-play PC Game MMO by Gala Labs and published by Play2Bit.

Ah this game, I have fond memories of it. I started during epic 4 on the French servers, I remember playing a warlock and farming for my red pixie who followed me till the very end, taming a white dragon without any protection “for fun”…
I did quit at lvl 127 iirc and when I came back, there was a bunch of quests intended to get you lvl 150, making one of the dungeons (El Kassia?) totally useless. On top of that, there were gear with stats on it and ranks for those, making my warlock that was decently geared back then totally outdated. And I was massively pissed by the talents quest, especially the one asking for a +20 weapon…
I started over on the US servers and it was at a time you could tame everything. I remember I tamed one of the frog bosses from the first dungeon, it was a solid pet with healing spells, I never knew what it was worth lol.
I’m afraid that rappelz is currently unplayable because of the pay2win wall which is pretty omnipresent among gpotato games…

You can still play2win but takes you some time to get gear good enough but very doable. I even have a Speedrun on new account video showing how to get high enough without spending money
They changed the gear upgrades! If you fail, you no longer break it!
Also the exact taming success chance after failing is in chat now giving out for this mob tryed on.
This points 2 alone lowers the P2W points.
But it always was P2W but never seen as "that" bad, back then.
Look at *LostArk* the game which just came out i think in March, for the West. This game is made by the Ex GalaLAP Head of Developer & Developers from Rappelz & Flyyf (1 Team both games, no subTeams). Great game! But they forget to add a true 2nd goal, pets. Which reduces it down to only Cassino your JobLvL sry now "WeaponLvL" transfered from char down to gears. That's it lit. The dungoens are super A made buuut stupid instances dungoens, not as they did in Rappelz with huuuuge dark tunnel nets free to explore and exp. Today games want to control the amount of exp you can daily collect (bottleneck) & with that on top limit amount of dungoen runs... well P2W buy ress/keys/etc. to overcome this walls.
Rappelz did not have this typs of walls but way higher freedom to what you want.
Look today, you can not use 1h sword & 1h axe... in Rappelz you can do all combos.
Card System to increase power + stage cards to further go high... games today dun add those extra layers. Simplfyed to reach the mass of players who have no time at all to read a lil text. Brain dead tltr gamer generation today.
Blizzards Diablo immortal, 1st week 24mil surplus, mobilgame... most p2w game you will ever face...

• exp. Booster/stats buff p2w
But
No gateway wall stoping you from progress.
WoW is double p2w, bc buy wow tokens with them buy gold with that buy anything + buy once + buy expentions (lose of progress) reinvest time/money...
LoL cosmetics are p2w bc they alter and also speed increase or hide abilities effect(s) to be noticed better so it adds less reaction time to the other side and with that bought advatages with money.
Tbh not a hardcore p2w but still is.
What i try to say is, p2w is not good, but to a certain point (pve), acceptable as long there are no walls build up blocking you from progress and time effort is not years to gain others might directly buy like in Diablo immortal or look at FiFa, Madden scam lol.
The sad truth is, as long no WW law for games exist, esp. For Asia, US & EU, p2w will get worse & worse. Comps not even bring out finished games anymore. Look at last Battlefield lmao Remember C&C red alert, Starcraft (Broodwar),... finished games 1 price.
Thats 1 of the reasons i go back to rappelz now (older, family/kids) and use my costly free time on a game worth it.
I could keep on playing LostArk, but for the whole propose to gamble *only* gear lvl up....this is all to do there simple said. Rest is a eyesmearing timewaste with no true goal for the player. PETS collecting, "collecting" is in our nature, none of that is stimulated in todays game but limited with intent. to buy and stop trying or simple dun offer it.
Rappelz had/has a good balance for both sides. ;)

Problem with this game was always that you needed very high level help at each plateau, like killing the witch etc. none of the big stuff was soloable, and you're gated off basically if you don't complete it. So, if you don't have high level friends you're basically done at so many points.
Other problems: you could just flag up any time and kill non flagged players in open world. Non- instanced dungeons cause many problems also, people didn't want to share the good spots.
And the issue of being 100% pay to win kinda ruins it. It's a very greedy pay to win actually.
If you guys want to play without feeling forced to pay at all or if you don't want to grind too much, you can play on private servers. The only drawbacks imo is the lack of players on most of them, but it can also be a pro. Playing with a rather small community is pretty fun.

Btw failing will not break gear anymore but pet cards will still disapear.

God I remember playing this when skeletons were the best pet and max lvl was 70 I think. The end of week guild raids between owner and best time were epic just dropping aoe's trying to lag the other guild out.

Hi . what is the Best way to lv your character at lv168 , i want to reach 200 but its hard i dont have +25 gear but i can get +21 or +20 ofCorse not all of the gear some
ROA. Really the best way and if you have +21 gear, depending on your class you should be fine. After that, head to Devildom.

Delete all catch up mechanics
Fix the respawn timer to like 3-5minutes for all normal monsters. The respawn timer on mobs is like 1min, makes it impossible to play.

If anyone wants to start up an old school rappelz group, comment. Would be cool to get a group of people to play through the game and party up on the dungeons.

Hey just started playing rappelz after YEARS and I am having trouble I have 20b but what pet do I buy? How come there no lvl 150 gear?
What class are you playing? I would for right now hold off on spending and get a little more used to the game since there have been a lot of changes. 150 gear I wouldn't worry too much about, you can get some half decent Master class weapons that should keep you alive and then start worrying about your 160 and 170 gears
