    Correction on the JBL Partybox 710. It is in fact IPX4 water resistant. I always seem to forget this since it has to be plugged in. Although I don't think you would want to get the area around where it plugs in wet. lol

    Great video! I like seeing the db meter because it gives a volume difference over video. I have been called a JBL fan boy before but you are right and when you try other brands and they don't size up.. LOL It is what it is. The partybox 710s are hard to beat. Last night I was playing around with my Bose F1system (2 tops and 2 subs ) and playing them with and beside the 2 partybox 710s and at times adding a Soundboks 3 . ( would have added 2 but the other one was in the car and it was raining. ) and with all that it was very evident when I silenced the partybox 710s. So the partybox 710 is an amazing speaker with really good sound quality.
    And I think my family was glad when I quit playing with all that at one time. LOL (my db meter was going crazy) 🤣

    Hello, I bought j710 part books 2 weeks ago and I'm using it. But today I noticed something, the led just to the left of the JBL logo on the front is not working. I saw your video. I realized the same problem was the videos you posted. I don't know. Are you aware?

    • @JaysStraightUpReviews
      @JaysStraightUpReviews  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's just that particular light mode (ripple) that LED doesn't flash. When you power up your 710 you should see all of them, including the one just to the left of the JBL badge, will flash. In all other light modes that light will function from my experience. Both of my 710's do the same, so it's not a problem, just how it was designed. Now if you don't see that light flash when powering up or in any other light modes, then you do have a problem.

    My problem, right. JBL had the sheer gall to include base SBC bluetooth, and nothing else, on a $500 speaker released in 2022. Highs were crackly and didn't sound good, the bass was one of the only good things I could say about it. I got a Marshall after that one, a Woburn II, and it was so much better, despite not being quite as able to shake the walls. I don't need lots of bass, and I love the XV900. I'll admit when I first got it it seemed a bit.. low, as far as the higher frequencies, but I was able to boost it in the Sony app and it works perfectly well now.

    • @JaysStraightUpReviews
      @JaysStraightUpReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @JaysStraightUpReviews
      @JaysStraightUpReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@GGiismo The F3 point is usually where most will rate a sub for extension. Sometimes -6dB, but 6db in lower frequencies is a big drop in output. Klipsch subs typically aren't that great. They tend to have a mid-bass hump in the 50-70Hz region. They have been known to have unreliable amps, as well. SVS makes good subs and have a 5 year warranty, but they are a bit pricey. All subs now are pretty pricey as they have all seemed to gone up in price a lot the past few years. HSU Research VTF-15H MK2 is a really good 15" sub. I also have one of those. If I were looking to buy a 12" or 15" sub I would still choose Monolith. I also have their 10" THX Select sub and had two of those at one time, as well.

      Well to be fair, the XV900 really is a pretty good speaker. Sony seems content to staying with the same sound signature with their speaker releases, but it may be time to rethink that. The Mage Bass mode is just too dark sounding, at least for my taste. And why Sony won't allow the user to use Mega Bass AND the EQ in their app is a mystery. That could easily be changed with something as simple as an update to their app.

    I really like your way of explaining the sounds, I see that Jbl has a lot of potential and its sound is incredible, but the xv900 doesn't fall short, it also has a very good sound, I think it's a matter of taste, because not everyone likes it. like a very loud sound, that's what I'd say

      Thanks, brother. Yeah, not everybody likes or hears things the same. You'll also have fanboys who will stick by their brand no matter what. There is a reason for that and it's not because they are bargain priced. 😂

      @@emiliongo007 you'll have to do a video or something explaining what you are doing, because it doesn't work that way from the Sony app. You have a menu titled "Sound Effect" and within that you can choose from OFF, Mega Bass, Live Sound or Custom. You can't pick two of these at the same time. If you pick say mega Bass and go out of the Sound Effect menu it will show Mega bass as the current sound effect and below that it shows Custom EQ that is greyed out so you cannot select it. Under that it reads "Enabled Only If Sound Effect IS Set To Custom."

For Sony if we talk about carrying outside he is the winner. Still you can judge who is the winner. But for me i voted for JBL710… if you wanted to carry it outside without grid… i guess you should buy portable generator or battery powered gens.

    Its amazing to me how Sony keeps disappointing when it comes right down to deep bass. I recently purchased the xp700 and previously I had the xg500 which really came short it terms of mids and highs. The xp700 is literally a better, louder version compared to the xg500 but it still falls short in the low frequency territory. I should have bought a partybox 310 if im being honest and paid an extra close to 200 Euros. Personally, unless someone in the future convinces me that Sony has changed and has started to make party speakers with an emphasis on low, deep, rumbling bass, I'm done with Sony speakers and even though you "gain" by having the best audio codec, LDAC, you lose in sound quality because of the quite flat and warm EQ that Sony uses.

      @@JaysStraightUpReviews Thanks for the reply. It's a real shame but honestly I'm not surprised. If the XV900 couldn't produce deep base, the XV800, which is in the same line-up definitely wouldn't be able to. Again, it's a real shame all round for the Sony speakers because I truly believe they have good things to offer. They just come short in areas where I think, due to the seer size at least, they should deliver, such as deep bass. I just ordered a Partybox 310 at a discount. I have a feeling it'll make the XP700 obsolete.

    Sony biggest problem is not the hardware , its the tuning. The factory tuning for the sony speakers always make all their speakers sound muddy.
    The reason for this is bad treble tuning. Even though the sony speakers have good tweets , sony tunes the tweeters conservatively not allowing for its full potential.
    I have an xg500 and to get the most of it i need to use the built in samsung equalizer. You will not fare well on other model phones that dont have a built in equalizer
    Most equalizers from the play store cause the sound to be distorted. You need boost the treble on the sony to almost maximum.
    Sony has some small advantages going for it eg if you have an xg500 you can pair both the xg500 and xv900
    With jbl you cant do the same with different model speakers
