  • A few weeks back someone sent me an Ebay link to some unique pieces that would fit on a Galaxy's Edge Custom Lightsaber from Savi's Workshop. These came from the UK and I paid around $75 for them. They are not available at Disney Parks as they are custom 3D printed by the artist.

A suggestion for you Dan-O, open the nasal cavity to the chamber underneath, eye sockets as well. Even the little spots you didn't like below the skull could be drilled through to allow sound out. Just have to touch up with some paint.

I love that skull pommel, but yeah, it would have to be modified to allow sound to go through. and also, in the now defunked SW cannon, there were dark jedi and sith that would have hilt designs like that. and with the new SW game including the metal band, the HU, it's now cannon that metal music is part of the SW universe, so I'm sure there are some headbanger jedi out there with hilts like that.

Love the idea, but I do think quality control will be the overall issue. I could see some fly by night shops sell poor quality pieces to make quick money and people need to be aware of this possibility. However, as long as Disney doesn't assert control over their lightsabers, I would see designs showing up on Etsy and Shapeways very soon. Personally, I am wanting some copper pieces for mine, once I get it. Gives it a nice, slightly antique look.

Subbed, this is the first video I have seen talking about this and will watch more from you. I just made mine from Savi's yesterday :) . I cad/3d-print parts for various things already and was wondering how big a deal this was, modding these sabers. Glad I'm not the only one thinking about this :) .
When I do make my own mods I'll keep the threads and vent holes in mind. Will probably cover the prints in wood filler and sand before primer and paint to take out the layer lines. Hopefully I can "tap" the threads with my stock pieces into the 3d printed ones, I know those threads are too fine to 3d print on their own (let alone the alignment clocking). Thanks for sharing and making this video, I see already there are more ;) . Would anyone in the comments mind sharing a good resource for modding these? (RFID reprogramming the crystals, CAD template files, etc).

Not a fan of the skull, but I know many people will be, also it's a shame with the cancelled out noise, but at the same time, for those who're into a more stealthy kinda jedi-slayer lighsaber, it's a really good option. Or maybe if someone wants to go a jedi-rogue esque style, the muffled sound could be cool. I'd personally prefer one with high sound coming out though. And I'm sure plenty of intelligent and creative people will make some crazy-lookin custom parts. Gonna be fun to see what's gonna come from this.

3d printed is cool, but id rather CNC'ed metal parts, and a conversion kit to make them duelable.

Omg I love this 😍 😍 😍 Too bad the skull pommel gets in the way of the sound but if it came with holes (like the eye sockets) I would totally buy it!!

The first thing I thought seeing these were "he needs a black lightsaber blade" reminds me really hard of like a litch themed weapon from any kinda D&D style game. Has anyone figured out a good method for them yet?
