Yes! Dress simple, elegant, neutral and tight. However their dressing style should go with their personality and purpose of the headshot, for not all headshots are the same! Thanks for bringing the good bread! 👏👏👏👏👏

Good information as always, and I appreciate that you speak at a normal speed using a normal tone of voice. I do wish that you, and every other YT creator would drop the music. I know "everyone" does it. But I just can't understand the purpose. Thankfully yours is very low, but whenever I listen to a video that does not have music, I'm never thinking, "I really wish they had a music bed underneath the talking." I'm praying for the day when everyone gets rid of it. Till then, I'll just have to tolerate it I suppose ;) Best of luck with your future videos. Consistently strong content.

Thanks John, appreciate this! I've been thinking about dropping the music for a while so this is another reminder that it's not needed under the talking. I think that a lot of us fear that it will boring when it's just talking, but you're probably right that it's unnecessary.

@@PeteCocoPhoto I look at it as a type of group think. Like if you watch old movies, they would start with the credits. Long credits listing every single person who did anything in the movie. Not one creator was able to say, "I don't see why the movie has to start with 10 minutes of credits before the action starts." And then you get a movie like "The Spy Who Loved Me" (first one I remember like this) that starts with an action sequence. No context. No titles. Just action. A chase on the ski slopes and dramatic escape...and then credits. Credits that look like a music video. Credits that you actually enjoy. Suddenly everyone can start their movie without 10 minutes of credits. One guy did it and now we all have permission to do it. So I look at music the same way. Most people are doing simply because everyone else is doing it.
This is something I struggle with all the time. Like you, I have learned a lot from Peter Hurley. My headshots are better thanks to his training. But you take something like Triangle Lighting. I don't like it for a few different reasons. So why do I use it? Am I just doing it because Peter says it's the way to go? What about my own thoughts about how I want my lighting to look? I bought the Flex Kit based on Peter's endorsement and seeing the results that people like you get with that kit. But intellectually, it seems the lower priced, far more fully featured Amaran 22c would produce the same look. So why didn't I buy that light instead of the Flex Kit? Group think most likely.
I think getting past it is a multi step process. First is identifying it. Next I suppose would be having the courage to break out of the group think and just do what makes sense to you. Obviously, there are tons of areas where I am following my own path (shooting with a Leica, for example) but sometimes I do question the areas where I may just be doing something because everyone else is doing it.
