Mr. Yasir Hamza , Even showing very little inside the generator room. I liked this hydroelectric . It must be very important for Pakistan. Greetings From BRAZIL.
Thank you for your nice comment . Such Hydropower units are important for Pakistan & every other country including Brazil as these are cheap source of clean energy. If you have a similar project in your country, you may show as well for knowledge sharing. :)
Nice video. I want to know detail this project: location, net head, the cubic meter water going per second, the dimention of penstock..., capacity and kind of turbin.
Hello, I am doing a thesis on hydroelectric power plant design, but I could not find a clear enough source. If there is a source that explains the principles of hydroelectric power plant design step by step, could you suggest you know?
@@yasirhamza7986 Hello Yasir. I would love to get your professional ideas on how to do this. Inwould be greatly appreciative. Would you be ok to email? My name is George. Email is coresteps@gmail.com. Thank you for such a great video.
thanks for posting. some late thoughts. could be some innocent or deliberate false claims here. this is not a run-of-the-river installation. at 1:00, i assume, a nominal flow can be seen; at 6:00, the out-flow volume can be seen. it's not that much water. my best guess is that there is about 235 kw of potential energy being delivered to the turbine. that's a lot less the 1.2 mw. at 2:45, by putting the forebay at such a low altitude, effective head, at the turbine is limited to about 20 to 25 meters. at 4:02, a flywheel, really??? lol cheers
Dear Sir, thanks for your analysis. You have rightly guessed that with the water shown in the video it could be around 250kW. You are absolutely right. Because this video was made in the winter time. The electricity demand of the village is very low (usually 250kW to 300kW). Thus only one unit out of two is operated. In summers, the demand increases and both units run giving 600kW each. The water level also increases. Therefore, as posted in the video, the generating capability is 1200kW (1.2MW) but the operation depends on the demand. Besides, the head is 35 Meter and total design flow is 4 cumec. 2 cumec for each unit. This is a run of the river turbine where the river is diverted through a channel into the turbines and then joins the river again.
Is the plant connected to a larger grid, or is it an island grid supplying only the next village? If yes, how was the village supplied before? With diesel gensets? Anyway thanks for sharing the video!
Thank you for your comment. This is not connected to national grid of the country. It is an island grid. The village was getting electricity from the same source but the generating capacity was only 400kW. Now it is 1200KW. It was rebuilt again.

Did the EU fund this? Because they could've spent more money and give better turbines. Those turbines aren't reliable in the long run, save some money and get better ones that can last up to 50 years with low maintenance
@@dindings You are right. But it was upto the management team to decide which quality turbine to buy. As you know, management people always put money in priority. Once I get any project myself, I will choose quality then. :)
Hey Music School, When casting such aspersions, it's best to use the contraction of 'you are' rather than the possessive adjective 'your'. (Otherwise, it comes off as an "it takes one to know one" sorta thing).
Does it work? Yes, Will it last for a while? Yes. Did it involve local labor? Yes. Is it in a remote area where there is a lack of materials? Likely so. It looks like they plan on burying most of it so function out does looks. So they work with the skills and materials they have and in an area where it isn't easy to get things into and they better the lives of the locals. So it is a win.

what was the cost of the project ???
It would be interesting to know the cost of this project
How many Mega Watts does that turbine deliver?
1.2MW
Why all the rebar sticking out of the top of the concrete spill way??

How much cost for generating 300kw electricity on canal running water
Using China made equipment it costs around US $400k for 300kW unit.
