Good recommendation is to get a keepnet that has a max fish weight of 55 lbs and when you unlock Spawn Sacks use them. You will only catch sturgeon and can max out quickly.
I found it to be more efficient to use duck muscle meat, you can target carp with it when your not catching as much sturgeon. I also found that it helps filling the net faster because your goal when fishing sturgeon isn’t to fill your keepnet. And while catching sturgeon and carp I’ll spin for striped bass and maybe catch a few uniques. I started off by using only spawn sack and large cut bait, but when I started using duck muscle I filled my net faster and earned more money. With a 440lb net I make about 22k on a good night which is about 20-30 minutes

I’ve noticed. If you have multiple bottom Rods out and not getting fish. You should. Cast out a rod with a lure and you will get a bite on a bottom rod. Also. All water craft have anchors. The fish won’t pull you away from you spot
Right, but if you have the anchor down, the kayak can’t help you catch the fish on lighter gear

Ah, good old sturgeon grind. Thankful I got to do this mostly during Halloween so I get a nice boost of EXP from catching the Steelhead-Phantoms on top of the Sturgeon. Got to split for Selenge and never come back faster.

Well i did try the setup that Bzhub gave us, The fish under 20kg will not give that much exp, the struggle is the same as a cat boxer 240 in my opinion, still the setup is nice but for me its very unusual, still i would prefer catboxer 240 setup that im using. Nice video ❤

One thing I’ve always suggested is buying the sport bottom pack for 4.99 for this exact grind 😉
ironically i did the "Sturgeon grind" at northern pikes. stayed there until lvl 44.
Cheaper option brutus 10'10 megatank 6000 braid 0.011 titanium leader 0.008 barbless 4/0 glow bobber all available at 36 will set you back $45120 plus 2 bait coins. This area show drop the bait to 7ft - 7ft2 or 84" - 86" inch still works plus you will get the xp bonus too
i bought the congo river pack a while back and only got to level 40 and these strugeon are great for money

So i actually used to fish the san joaquin delta in real life i fishded it for most of my life its so great that its in a game my favorite fish to eat are sturgeon and striped bass

Just depends on what you’re fishing for. There’s not much of a “end all rod and reel” in fishing planet

@@velociraptor2094 yeah, I’ve had to upgrade my storage in FP twice so far, but I probably have a dozen to two dozen spinning and baitcasting rods for different fish.

For anyone doing this now, they have nerfed the amount of money you get for sturgeon. A 42 pounder is only worth about 2200 now.

i recommend that in future videos you say the total money you need to travel there including the keepnet, because now i grinded 88k at saint croix, i buy the rod and reel, the keepnet that has a 44lbs max fish and im back at lone star grinding the spotted bass, i didnt have anything close to having enough money for a kayak and the travel+licence

the total is about 151k but you need to have some more in case i forgot something and you need to buy something else, gotta have that extra 10k just in case :)

@@niox1920 np, btw that is the amount you will need for the 55lb keepnet not the one he bought in the video, but getting the 55lb keepnet will let you keep a lot of the bigger sturgeon :)

Fished here for 7 days in game, I had multiple markers for Sturgeon and I was only able to catch about 1 sturgeon each day, I would fish four hours and not catch a single sturgeon afterwards until I forwarded the next day.
Very strange, that’s not my experience at all. It always make me wonder if they put out an update or something
@BZHub Could be super bad luck. I'm just going to stick to the trout and salmon nearby.
I'm sitting here right now on pc filling keepnet after keepnet. Currently have the 220kg model and only need to fast forward once in a night by two hours then o to next night as net is full. String of spots all along that bank and the boat sheds and little islands next to them. HOWEVER have had to go to a 3/0 hook, 4/0 no longer works for me, that may also be your issue.
With sturgeon? I've still tried countless times with different baits, leader lengths, leader materials, rods and reels. Ill still catch like 1 or 2 but whenever I fast forward or simply switch spots, I won't even get a bite for hours in game. I don't see a point in farming sturgeon. I was getting 370lb keep net of Striped Bass, Salmon, and steelhead worth more than 30k. I am level 35 but I still don't see why I can't get consistent supply of Sturgeon...

for some reason the sturgeon grind doesn't work for me [lvl 41] because its great money but i get barley any exp
are you able to use a bigger hook than 4/0 to catch the bigger ones or is it better to stick to 4/0 and just grind the smaller ones and sometimes bigger ones
4/0 and 5/0 are solid hooks for the sturgeon, I think I had just unlocked the x-series 4/0 and didn't want to buy another, but I could be wrong. It's been a bit.

So Im considering the difference between sturgeon here and pike at saint croix because with saint croix, I can have multiple rods out at once but with this I cannot

I would assume it takes about the same time as it would to catch sturgeon in a kayak.
Right now I'm grinding to be able to buy a keepnet big enough to keep all sizes of taimen. The only problem is that my rods and reels are around the 20s in durability.
@@BoAngles it really depends on what u use and how big the keep net is, i use a 6/7oz 6/0 hook medium spoon stop&go and a 551lb keepnet, it takes like 2-3 ingame hours

Yikes, if you’re not catching a fish in 1-2 minutes, reel in and toss out in a different spot.

Yep, all max drag setups have line too strong for the rods. So long as the line is within 10lbs or so, it should be fine.

Just carp, the carp rods only allow carp fishing tackle to be equipped on them- made that mistake in my first run through 😉

Why does every new rod I buy suck worse then a cheaper one? 175 foot cast on my old rod, barely 100 feet on my new one. I'm positive these creators are just trolls at this point. 25000 bucks wasted on a rod that can't even use spinner baits lol. Like trash game for sure

Weight always optimal. I used the 6'6 bass caster you suggested for the area I'm pretty positive
@@shoctyaa5248 in mudwater or is that Everglades? 6’6” doesn’t give much casting distance in FP, but it works fairly well in areas like mudwater or Everglades where you don’t need to cast far
It's the everglades. Thanks for responding. I think I'm just over grinding and grinding and then feeling like I got ripped off for thirty or fourty thousand. I just saw angler: call of the wild and thought it looked cool. Maybe I'll give that one a try? Not sure yet.
Honestly it's not even the short cast but it's impossibility to handle simple spinnerbaits and such. I really don't think it's cool that a rod and reel won't work for the exact thing they're made for. Specifically the 3/4 ounce white spinnerbaits I bought just dragges on the bottom and gets no lure motion.
This strategy sucks, pike is more profitable. I have the same keep net and I get about 12K with 7 Sturgeon and it took way too long when i caught 5 too big and jumping days you lose 2k. A full net of pike is 18K plus and don't have to jump days.
