  • I look for places that it could be bleeding back on the fuel and pull the filters for we can find new ones.

    You just proven that it is a very important to change our filters more often than the previous owner did. I would change out the lines to the fuel pump that squeezy softball hose and the one is bent it looks like it's on there since Moses was alive. Good luck getting that tractor running again.

    Run copper from the fuel bowl to the first filter, it will eliminate collapse fuel lines. When that tractor was built there was no ruby red diesel fuel, it was number 2 fuel oil and it was not clean by any means. Always filter the fuel at the tank before adding it to the tractor tank

    I think its safe to say International diesels have ether addictions.

      CopperHead613 I had a John Deere 4230 that would give them a run for their money. Fantastic tractor, But anything below 80 degrees called for a shot of nose candy! 😃

      Do not use ether on this tractor. You’ll crack the pre cups among other things. Have good batteries and good glow plugs and it’ll start every time. I also installed a block heater to plug in on very cold days. It works great.

    Get the fuel system cleaned up and leak free, and check that all the glow plugs are functioning, these international diesel engines will not start without them, also make sure to activate them for plenty of time before attempting to start it, looks like a nice old gem!

      @@chainsawartbyjustinberry4401 I have a question for you have you change the fuel filters? the reason I ask is that was what one of the problems we were having with the 706 they made it hard to get it to start.

    We had one with 282 and it never failed to start.it was our big tractor it did everything.we ran it up too 8000 hrs and five quarts oil discing .an international dealer rebuilt it I think for 5000 $.it was late eighties I think.it was an awsome tractor but it wasn't perfect.

    Is that a stock fuel filter before the 1st canister? If this fuel filter is not stock, remove it. You might have too many fuel filters which are restricting the flow of diesel

    • @tractordoctortv
      @tractordoctortv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree with you that that extra fuel filter needs to . I wonder if the line between the 2 filter housing is to soft of a line and it is collapsing under the vacuum from pump and restricting flow.

    • @orders1630
      @orders1630 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tractordoctortv the fuel lines could be too soft. Those fuel lines look like someone did a quick fix that is now worn out and it's your turn to do it right.

    You are just wasting time tearing up old filters , replace the filters and lines replace all fuel lines get rid of that add in filter prime pump and injector lines before attempting to glow plugs then you can hold glow plugs. Make sure throttle is wide open while cranking over NEVER use either while using glow plugs you will blow it up

  • @robertnymand9889

    Return line. Fuel lines are important to inspect. Fuel filters. Be sure to replace both. Secondary won't be as bad. Fuel pump may need work too. Roosamaster pump is very trouble free. Also injecter check.

    Can you turn the elbow down where line goes to first filter to take the hump out of the line?

  • @CrazyDEquipment

    Why is it so hard to start because it's not a case

  • @boilerhand1
    @boilerhand1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's either pump timing, fuel flow issues, or a combination of both.

    • @tractordoctortv
      @tractordoctortv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the issues with the 706 is the line between the pump and the filter is leaking which is letting the fuel leak out . So that is why I think it takes so much either to get it to start. By feeding it so much easier your priming the fuel pump up each time we started.
