I don't think he is innocent but I do think this sentencing is highly overblown. Like 2-3 years should have been the sentence out in 1 with good behavior.

Yes the sentencing does appear to be way too harsh (I'm new to his situation so I can't say it with certainty), but from what I gather the site was substantially linked to or permissive of drug dealing. It's one thing to support liberty, but liberty to commit serious crime? I'm always wary of people who try and push that drugs aren't a serious issue. They are to those hooked on them and their despairing families. So to some extent I agree with having deterrence.
If he were a Democrat, he would be given a two life time of protection and free run without any rule of law, burn anything down he loves and be said as "peaceful protest"

It is worth noting that there is indisputable evidence that federal agents planted evidence, lied and cheated in order to gain a conviction. Two agents were also convicted of stealing Bitcoin from Silk Road. Even the guy who supposedly had the hit against him says that Ross was set up by the feds.
