  • One of the reasons I started this channel is to provide coffee education videos that I wish I saw when starting manually brewing coffee many years ago.
This is one of those videos. While nothing groundbreaking or new each tip is something I've learned along the way that has helped me brew better coffee with the AeroPress.
I would love to hear any of your tips in the comments!

Thanksk for the video. Found your channel, watched a couple of vids, and now I've subscribed!

On tip #2, a) yes, the hexagon is very useful but I wish there was a smaller one because this one does not fit in my everyday travel kit. I've been thinking of reducing the size of one hexagon by cutting material on both upper and lower ends.
    b) Depending on how hard/fast you are pressing, coffee may come out through the thread, but no problem when using the hexagon.
    c) Be careful of what cup / recipient you are placing it on! I decided to use it on the Hario V60 Drip Coffee Decanter, and it ended up working as a wedge and breaking my Decanter... and haven't been able to replace it!
On tip #4, I had always pressed til the end, compacting the puck for easy cleaning with no bitterness, and felt reinforced with Hoffman's opinion on that....until a certain coffee came by and changed things and bitterness showed up. It seems that this happens with coffees that render more fines by nature.
On tip #5, I never thought it would happen to me until it did: I forgot to place the cap and made a mess (no shame on that).

    Great tips.
I had not idea about these. (Especially using the hexagon for smaller cup).

Buy a good grinder, it's not have to be a commandante.
Having to grind to your prefered grind size is really nice and the aroma of freshly ground coffee is just amazing!
Personally I invested to an 1zpresso Jx Pro, as I also plan to have an espresso machine in the future.

@@BrianRenshaw I’m an OTR Driver and it’s the perfect daily brewer in my truck. Minimal cleanup was an important factor. Been toying with a V60 but I keep coming back to the AeroPress. Recently upgraded my Hario Grinder to the AerGrind by Knock which fits inside the AeroPress which makes for a very nice and compact bit of kit.

Yeah that would be perfect for it! The Hario Switch might be something to look at too. Best of both worlds
