Without these vids we'd never get to see the insides of equipment like this. Thanks for sharing.

Looks nice inside - just hope the bushings don't fail their test!

In Portland here, we have an ancient 57kv line that the power company wants to get rid of by like 2027. Massive 57Kv Oil breakers at every substation! I’ll have to ask them for equipment.

At least you have CT's on each phase. My company uses the Aron method which I hate as it make my brain hurt!!

Looks very similar to a Yorkshire IVIO-13 or 16 set up with the round tank and fixed contact portion.

@RODCALCO2007, Do you work for your local electrical company? Just curious what your field of work is.

I was wondering why the CTs are different sizes. Then I worked it out. The protection CTs need to be bigger, because they need to remain accurate under overload conditions, so that the breaker trip unit sees an accurate measurement of the current.
The metering CTs don't need to remain accurate in overload, because overloads are rare and brief and won't materially affect the meter totals.

That s 100 % correct . They are not allowed to saturate easily hence a large iron core. They need to accurately operate at 10 - 15 x their normal current.

What do you wash them with? Acetone?

If very dirty we use electroclean, normally rinse with clean mineral transformer oil.

I've seen bigger ones than that. They were on a net metering unit connected to a local power reseller (our city).
