What does a light blue flag mean in grand prix racing? I'm watching 24 HR Le Mans, 2018...jhh😊
In your first example, you can use masks in Masking and selection each house with the Object mask. Then use color point, Works great
But you can't use the HSL/Color Mixer tab on specific masks, just on the whole photo. At least as of now
@@chicobretesno but you can use Point Color when you mask
Wow, just discovered your LR youtube tutorials. So good. So easy to follow, and gives me just the right amount of information. My new go to place.
Thanks, Anthony. Finally, after 16 years, HSL for masks. During the last week or so, my workflow has been made much simpler for water adjustment. No more round trip to Photoshop. The only thing I want now is the ability to add a feather to a mask .
Excellent demonstration. Thanks.
Thank you Anthony, I have been playing with this since it came out, but, your tips helped me out a lot. So thanks again
Brilliant. Thank you Anthony. Simon
It's great to have you back, Anthony, especially with this valuable tutorial on colour adjustments. If you wanted how would you remove those two really dark shadows on the purple shed?
Amazing video, love all your work, you have taught me a lot on LR i don’t know how you remember all this stuff!
Really well done! Super clear, thank you!
Thank you. I found that on the range sliders you can change the width of the box in the slider for an even more precise adjustment.
Awesome video! Thanks!
Gotta love you Anthony! Since I did the update I couldn’t find where to change the hue, saturation and luminance to edit my subjects lip color. How would one do lips? I know I’d have to pick a color from somewhere to change the lips. How can I just change lip color? Leave it to you…. Trusted, well educated and updated information!Thank you!
Very helpful and informative! Thank you so much Anthony for the tutorial on Point Color feature! God bless and good luck!
Thanks for this informative video. The keyboard shortcuts tricks are awesome.
Thanks for the tutorial Anthony.
As others pointed out you can start off with a subject, object or brushed mask and use point color within the mask! That's actually pretty groundbreaking. Before, if you were in a mask you couldn't do HSL at all. I would use the color temperature slider in a mask to make subject or background warmer or cooler. Now you can do anything with hue, luminance and saturation
Great Anthony, thank you very much for another great video , you are soo good at explaining how this works, great gift you have👏👏👏
Anthony - thanks for this. Really helpful. I use HSL all the time and this new point colour feature adds a whole new dimension.
Thanks! I'm going to dive into this for my bird photography. I often want to boost certain characteristics for feathers
You can use sky selection, object selection, radial filter... and their combination (intersect) to isolate the area that you want to adjust the color using point color picker. It's a work around.
Anthony, Thanks for another great video.
When using the point sliders you can see small tabs on each end of the slider windows. These allow you to expand or shrink the length of the slider so you can be more precise on the edit you are making.
The same tabs also appear on the slider window for the new Lens Blur feature, again to allow a more precise adjustment if you need it.
Must use this feature more 🤔
Very useful- thank you
Good one. Very descriptive image with the first example. Thanks.
Excellent video as always Anthony. Thanks so much. I've been using this new feature a little to become familiar with it but have been struggling with controlling the global adjustment that it makes. This really helps.
I'm still getting the hang of it, it was tough on autumn leaves. Will be interested in what you think of the lens blur feature.
Always great videos... I have a Lightroom question for you. If I merge focus stacked or bracketed photos in lightroom, can I then delete the images that created the merged image or do I have to keep them? Just a question for the sake of cleaning up focus stacked or bracketed images, when coming back from being in the field and processing. Thanks in advance for your answer.
Great! Thanks.
Thanks Anthony. In the new color mixer I find the HSL and color section but no B&W. Is that now gone?
Thank you for this video. I think that the point color tool is also available with masks in lightroom.
Yes, the Point Color tool can be used inside of a mask.
You can create a mask and use the color picker to only effect the chosen color in that mask.
Great demo! Isn’t this tool also available in the Lightroom Mask Section?
You can definitely use point color with any masks.
Hi,
One thing I have noticed, point color in Camera raw doesn’t come up with magnifying glass.
I think you were a bit misleading by suggesting that you can't use masking with the point curve. In fact, the point curve tool IS available when using masks in lightroom unlike the old HSL tool.
When you go to Point Color, why isn't the eyedropper already active? Seems like it would be better if it was...
Long before this point color came out. I would create a new mask by "color range" and it works great. So, the only advantage I see here is that it does the same thing but without making a mask.
Hopefully Adobe will add point color and HSL up in the mask section where it offers select sky, select subject etc. It has been a feature request from Adobe for a long time, at least the HSL has.
Point Color is available in the masking section. It is not in the select sky/subject window. It is in the adjustment sections with Tone, Color, Tone Curve, etc. So, once a mask has been applied, the Point Color effect is available within the mask.
@@WalterMitty-sv2pqThanks, I just saw it on the screen watching Matt Kloskowski's video that came out today and was surprised.
Can't you mask the purple shed with the brush in the Lightroom masking section and then use point color and select purple and affect only the purple? Doing it this way wouldn't shift the blue on the blue shed. Am I correct on that?
Yes, you are correct
I'm able to use the pointer with a mask.
