From what I've seen from other youtubers (never done it myself) they don't accept controllers that have been opened up. The 360 controller has a screw under the sticker in the battery compartment so they will be able to tell as that will need to be poked through or removed. But I've also read that the condition of the sticks doesn't matter as long as the pad is fully operational. I'd perhaps just try taking 1 in and see if they accept it.

The original grips are built in to the stick ( moulded as one) like I've said ,easy to open up and the stick just pull off and put new sticks on.
