Oh dear, I suffered with you when I heard the cruel little sound of the impossible fracture, hours of work, joyful impatience, three grams of inattention and the asteroid falls on our garden, the eleventh plague of Egypt and the fifth horseman of the Apocalypse arrive at the same time, in short, it's the end of baked beans with carrots, Vermeer stepping on a tube of paint and splattering the Jeune Fille à la Perle. Your apparent calm, your unalterable smile may have been followed by a few howls off-camera, but thank you for this lesson in resilience, and also for all your great work. Apart from that, metal panels are really, definitely, really better...
You're the Sir David Attenborough of Eurorack DIY. Very relaxing, and then a very tense standoff with technology. But ultimately a deeper appreciation for music technology.
This one had a few funky and unique challenges. I think if I ever purchase a skip, I'll pay for a pre-built module. LOL And OMG! Sorry about the front panel. Thanks for showing us what can happen.
@MoltenMusic I challenge you to put together a modular rig for $200. You‘re allowed to use a keystep or something similar. I look forward to your solution.
Can't be done my friend. The Keystep is your whole budget right there. Can't get a case and power supply for less than $100 - just not possible, sorry.
It would be from around at least €700 plus the case, but it all depends on the modules. There's a vast range of prices and features. Here's an example using only Behringer modules - modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/2703738 I'm sure we could triple the price using Erica Synths or Make Noise modules. ModularGrid is a great place to try out different configurations and it will give you a rough price. Have fun!

I can say with some confidence they will (should) replace the panel for anyone, unpopulated FR4 doesn't cost much relative to the rest of the kit!
Yeah you're absolutely right. We help people out when something goes wrong with their builds.
I wondered how long it would be before Robin broke a module. ;)
I would have edited out the fuck up, never would have let anyone know I snapped the faceplate 🙄🤡
Why do that? Isn't honesty more engaging than a fake projection of competence? Life is more interesting when you don't make it up :D
I would definitely reduce the font size on that PCB.

@ oh, you can get the keystep or equivalent for free. Your move.
Can I get the case and modules for free?
@ ok, set it on its ear. How much would recreating the Korg Monologue be in modular?
