Thanks for making such an informative and content driven vid, this definitely will help with my decision making process. With that said, I’m looking for a laptop for 4K video editing and I followed your recommendations with H processors, RAM amount and screen resolution and gambit etc…and of course my budget…lol, I landed on the Gigabyte Aero 15 KD-72US623SP as my choice. But when I checked your vid’s laptop list, it seems it didn’t make the grade…lol. So I was wondering what’s your thoughts on that particular laptop…once again, thanks and keep up the GREAT work! 🙏🏼

That is a great laptop! I think the color gamut range and performance is spot on. The reason I don't personally ALWAYS recommend it is because some people don't like to pay the extra money for the color gamut range. You want that, so it's a GREAT pick. :)

I think it’s worth noting for film focused creatives having a calibrated DCI-P3 monitor is a great plus for great looking films, especially for theatrical distribution. Think film festivals. But if you have the budget, your colorist will have one of these anyway.
Also worth noting for web: Apple is pushing P3 color on all of its devices. I could see other brands following suit.

both nvidia and ryzen doesn't give hardware acceleration for h265 422 files which is a massive hit on anyone using the modern 10 bit cameras nowadays like a7siii or canon r5 r6.
however, Intel's igpu does just fine with those at least in gen 11 and gen 12 cpu's and that's what matter to me. not the small differences that benchmarks give like 12 minutes vs 11 minutes, but the huge time gaps of being hardware accelerated or not. this is why i got myself intel 11800h and rtx 3070 used laptop for 1.2k on ebay lol
if gaming wasn't a requirement for me, I'd take a macbook cuz m1 also decodes h265

I now have a 9 year old laptop and I spend extreme amount of time dealing with 4K footage. I have to generate optimized media for every clip in davinci and that takes like 10 minutes for 2,5 minute long clip. So I spend all day for making a 3 minute video. That's crazy because I have lot's of other work which is lagging behind because of that. I value my time and don't want to be dealling with it anymore. I would like a laptop which will be perfect for me. I don't want to spend extra money if not neccessary, but I am looking at laptops up to 4000$ (they are a lot more expensive in Europe where I live then US). I was looking at Lenovo thinkpad P15 Gen2 i7-11800, 32GB of Ram. But i cant decide which graphics card is right for my type of work. Is it Nvidia RTX a3000 with 6GB of Vram which goes for 3500$ here and 4700$ for i9-11950H and Nvidia rtx A5000. Maybe middle one rtx a4000? I happen to hear that P15 become extremly hot. Any thoughts on that? I would be extremly thankfull.
