Exceptional video: perfect speed of instructions, great lighting and close ups, very good voice modulation, well edited and no excessive blather. A rarity for DIY videos.
@@NotchesSewing little update, just made this and your guide was amazing, it turned out brilliant, thank you for the simple yet precise easy to follow intsructions. x
I’ve been watching so many videos on how to make these and this video is by far the best I’ve seen. So clear and easy to follow. Also, the end result was the neatest and this is the only video where they create the inside casing for the wire. I love it!!! Thank you!!! Just brilliant!
Wonderful tutorial…thank you! The instructions to create the channel for the wire by sewing the folded side was ingenious! I’ve made a few of these headbands in the past using other tutorials but never once was it suggested to create an invisible channel this way🙏🏽
Another straightforward tutorial - I found it even easier to follow using with one piece of fabric (#1 is better for multiple makers imho) thanks again:)
Watched the jelly roll video last night. Also cute. I could just use the sewing instructions for that pattern but the cut sizes of this one to make the wider, retro size!
I just found your site and I am so pleased!! Your instructions are fabulous and you speak so clearly it makes it a pleasure to listen. I hope to see many more wonderful ideas from you. I will follow this terrific site!!!
Thank you for such a clear and concise tutorial. I’m new to sewing, and I’m working my way through some beginner projects-I’ll use my scraps to make headbands! 😊
Great tutorial. I have made lots of these headbands. I do find the wires get twisted and slip so I'm going to try and find a way to attach the wire in the pointed ends.
I’ve never made with satin. If it is a thicker satin, you probably don’t need to add interfacing. Just test on a little piece of scrap to see if the end of the wire pokes through easily.
Well, I did a dumb thing. I went to Joann’s and bought some Halloween fabric to make these, and I didn’t realize how long 40 inches was! 🤦🏻♀️🙄😂 (I am a beginner sewer)… I only got 1 yard each of the fabric I want to use. Will these still turn out okay if I make them slightly smaller? Like instead of 40 inches, can I get away with doing 36? Ugh I’m so mad at myself. I hate when I learn lessons like this! Thanks for the wonderful tutorial. I can’t wait to get started on this even tho I may have to end up giving it to some kids!!! 😂🤦🏻♀️
Angela, I love your pattern, thank you. I’ve made a couple. Is there a trick to prevent the wire from easing away from the ends? Hope that makes sense. I like the wite to be at the tips because the way I wear it I like it to look like a bow and if the wire pulls away from the tips it’s harder to shape the bow. TY❤
You can cut 5” x 38”. You really need to experiment a bit depending on age of child and look you are after. Maybe just make one for yourself and then decide how much shorter and narrower you need it. Cheers

Thanks for this video. Easy to follow for great results. I wanted to know should I use interfacing if I'm using a light fabric like challis, or satin?
I’ve never made with satin. If it is a thicker satin, you probably don’t need to add interfacing. Just test on a little piece of scrap to see if the end of the wire pokes through easily.
👏👏👏👏👏

Super cute!! Is this best with plain cotton or could I use a bit heavier fabric, such as fabric for making handbags? Ty! 💕💕
A bit heavier fabric is fine. it may just take a bit more effort to pull right side out. Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks! Could you say a bit about what kind of fabric to use? I choose poorly and my headband was too rigid and scratchy.
Thank you so much Kat🙏
does other gauges work well, 19 g is hard for me to find. trying to make a huge amt of these.
Sure you just want it strong enough to hold shape but not too thick that it’s difficult to bend.
You absolutely can make it slightly shorter. I cut the long length along the crosswise grain of the fabric. How wide is your fabric?
Angela, I love your pattern, thank you. I’ve made a couple. Is there a trick to prevent the wire from easing away from the ends? Hope that makes sense. I like the wite to be at the tips because the way I wear it I like it to look like a bow and if the wire pulls away from the tips it’s harder to shape the bow. TY❤
Could be that your fabric stretches a bit so just cut your wire a couple inches longer than you need, test it before closing the opening.
sewing shut the small hole u fed the wire through might help
Beautiful! I love this headband. However, is it washable with the wire in it? Thank you or this video. .
I am assuming that it is not washable, because of the wire.
you can handwash and drip dry
What size should i cut for children?
Just cut a couple inches shorter
When you tie that on your head, does the wire keep it from being tight?
The beauty of of it is you twist until comfortable
How could I make this using a different color fabric on the other side?
Yes please use method from my other video. Happy Sewing! th-cam.com/video/XqUTCg9vz0A/w-d-xo.html
What kind o fabric for this?
Cotton was used in the tutorial but you can use any fabric that isn’t too heavy.
What dimensions would you use to make a child size?
You can cut 5” x 38”. You really need to experiment a bit depending on age of child and look you are after. Maybe just make one for yourself and then decide how much shorter and narrower you need it. Cheers
@@NotchesSewing thank you. I appreciate the advice
What is the fabric called that you are using please?
I used quilting cotton
