Middleweight honourable mention: Bruno Silva, he took all Pereira's clean hooks and didn't even get dropped or koed, took all Shara's clean high kick and didn't even feel
Having a wide thick neck and jawline like Vettori (and earlier Romero) is a big part of having a good chin. That’s the part of the body that absorbs the punchs impact
Saying Pantoja wasn’t phased by Erceg is incorrect Steve had Pantoja hurt a couple of times. That elbow that he landed almost had Pantoja throwing up in the corner. Even the commentary was like, “is he sick from that elbow?”
I think Pantoja was definetly feeling the damage that Steve erceg is putting on him no doubt. But it’s moreso his ability to absorb it on the chin, in the moment, is what the videos about. And the commentary also mentions multiple times in that fight that he’s just eating these shots pushing forward like it’s nothing which was true. I think a lot of other flyweights are getting dropped at a minimum from those sorts of shots.
marvin over max in pound for pound is crazy, one is a middleweight and one is a featherweight. having a mw higher than a fw with little difference in chin strength defeats the purpose of a pound for pound list. maybe marvin #2.
I don't think there was little difference in chin strength and even if that is correct, i would think to favor the fighter in the heavier weight divisions since, on average, they hit way harder and are absorbing harder shots. I don't think you can compare Poirier's power (even though he's great) to someone like Cannonier who was knocking people out in the heaviest weight divisions. I think pfp marvin has a better chin arguably.
@@LividLarry youre comparing power lmao, its pound for pound for a reason, obviously mw is gonna ave harder punchers. max fought gaethje who is one of the hardest hitters in the sport and his chin was very strong.
Since the video seems to be doing well, do you guys think i should make a "WORST Chins in every division" video? Let me know what you guys think and if you think its a good idea, ill jump right on it!
any recommendations? I also did mention i had written the video before the jiri vs pereira rematch and believed at that time he would still be a contender for this
@LividLarry id expected that wouldve been the case. honeslty there is alot of chinny guys at lhw but honestly i think Jan is the best. Pereira could be a shout as the only time hes been kod in MMA was as a drained middleweight, and he took some big shots from Jiri in the first fight. and Jan is just made out bricks.
@@dieorjfjdjwjw i agree 100% with that. A lot of people were recommending Jan too in the comments and he was a close one for it. I had seen him be KOed bad by Thiago Santos and that made it a toss up for me.
Tony Ferguson should’ve been for lightweight, he took gaethje best shots for 5 rounds and he only got knocked out by a kick that would knock out anyone in the division including khabib
@@LividLarry yea or you could say max for lightweight too since he competed in the division a few times, but I don’t think Khabib has ever took like a strong shot? I mean he did kind of get clipped a few times by Conor and Dustin but I don’t think Khabib took their best shots I don’t think
100% should have included Romero as an honorable mention. Was trying to use active fighters for the most part but i did use Khabib soooo haha. Good recommendation!
@@jayfadmma2879 Does he really get hit that clean though? I don't recall him taking too many clean shots. He is a smarter fighter who uses his fight IQ to win fights. He doesn't usually take unneeded punishment.
w lost tbh don't disagree with any romero honourable mention mw but he has obviously left, after the neck surgery this guy couldn't be knocked out cuz his neck was so short.

jan for LHW for sure
True, I think I had seen Jan be KOed by Thiago Santos and ended up siding with Jiri but definitely has a solid chin also. Good recommendation!
@@LividLarryJiri got knocked out twice tho
Already mentioned in the video that I had made the script and fighter placements before the Pereira vs Prochazka rematch.
Bro jiri over jan is insane
Jiri is tough, although it's moreso because of his heart. He will feel hard shots but he's persistent in continuing the fight.
jan was ko'd by santos though
Jan isn’t as durable, he simply has very good striking defense, doesn’t really get hit clean
HW - overeem
LHW - walker
MW - rockhold
WW - luque
LW - gaethje
FW - volkswagen
BW - cruz
volk?😂
volk quite literally got koed 2 tine sin a row
@@granimations2510its satire you casual, how old are you? He literally put johnny walker as the best chin at light heavyweight😂
Luque has an aneurism
I agree. Marvin Vettori is a beast with the chin.
Jan for lhw and Ngannou for hw
My list
Pantoja
Chito
Holloway
Hooker
Shavkat
Vettori
Jan
Jones
if only vettori improves his head movement... then he will be unstoppable. without taking any damage this man is a monster
theres too much inertia to bob and weave properly
He doesn’t have power either though
Dustin has a pretty good chin in lightweight
Having a wide thick neck and jawline like Vettori (and earlier Romero) is a big part of having a good chin. That’s the part of the body that absorbs the punchs impact
Jon Jones hasn’t been punched in the face by a Heavyweight yet 😂
DC
Jiri actually has a good chin to get a Left hook from pereira end get up is actually very strong but din't saved him thought.😅
Daniel Hooker is THE LW granite chin, he ate like 30 clean hooks from Dustin like french fries
