March 20, 2016 I Am (Part 7) - The True Vine “I am the true vine.” Jesus claims to be the True Israel, the planting of the Lord. Jesus is the True Vine, and His people are the branches.
Dear Pastor Matt, thank you for such a wonderful sermon. I am particularly inspired by the idea that Loving Christ is the way to fulfil the Law and not that fulfilling the Law is the way to the Love of Christ. But I would like to suggest that Christ does not say "I will cut off or take away the unfruitful" rather he says I will "raise up and bear" the unfruitful. The Father would not cut anyone off. The first part is about being in the vine. The second part describes those who cut themselves off from Christ & the Father and the consequence of which, not the punishment, will wither away and burn themselves up. Blessings on you Matt. The way he just casually mentioned his kids being afraid that he was going to spank them threw me off this whole sermon. Nah. Not going to listen to this guy again!
