I miss Jailbreak being Jailbreak. It’s not the game I used to love anymore. The community sucks and it’s all about cars now, the updates for 4 years have been all cars, I miss when the game doing JAILBREAK updates. Developers are great btw 0 hate to them they helped me a lot behind the scenes with my brand. They’re definitely burnt out from working on the game which is all good, maybe GTA 6 may revive the game
In truth, jailbreak in spirit died 5 years ago, and there's only been a few blue moons where the game adds actual jailbreak things to jailbreak. nowadays, it's creators have completely lost track of what the game is, which is the worst thing that can happen to any media of any kind. but no, GTA 6 won't do any wonders for the game lol, they're too different to be at all comparable. The best thing we can do is hope for a spiritual successor to come around and fill the hole badimo has left.
The game was perfectly fine without all of these bloat content updates/season rewards. Like you said with MM2, people still play it because it hasn’t changed its style. I don’t understand why Jailbreak is constantly trying to change its format and style, even though the game was peak in 2019 WITHOUT all of this useless content that maybe 2% of the players will use. The car people groups that have come out of the community created season rewards is also so damn awful. The community creations rarely ever fit the original feel of Jailbreak, and the people that play for the cars and trading are some of the most lobotomized people I have ever dealt with.

It's one of the worst changes they made to the game. If I get a contract where I have to rob a certain place a certain number of times, instead of just waiting 5 minutes for it to open again, I now have to spend like an hour or two for the same robbery to open again.

The reason why there is 'contract season' its because Asimo and Badcc doesnt really want to continue Jaiilbreak anymore. Thier passion to continue Jailbreak have wavered. Having seasons enables them to easily add community created items with into thier game with little effort. Furthermore, there is evidence of Asimo and Badcc having different passion outside Jailbreak. For example, (i think) they spent a lot of time creating a different game that didnt succeed.
I think that's fine that they're letting their community give them ideas and implement it into the game. I actually like the designs of what the community pushed out. Like the power 1 or the proto 8.
If they make jailbreak 2 I would voluntarily give them all the ideas they need for revamping every robbery, adding new robberies I have so many ideas but that will never happen :(

I’m a Roblox game developer of 4+ years and I’d like to share my thoughts on the video. 1. Game development has a balance between making money and passion. You can’t work on something with no money to put on the table. It’s all a balance. I don’t think tailoring thumbnails to audiences is inherently bad. Wanting more players makes sense, but I can see how that can look like greed. If I have cars and robbing banks in my game, and I show vehicles to someone who would’ve clicked the icon if it was robbing banks (and enjoyed the game if they clicked it) then I think that’s fine right? (personal experience) I got a part-time job (full-time hours most weeks) so that I could keep working on my passion project video game on Roblox. Passion projects don’t usually make money, I’ve researched all this stuff for 6+ years now. I’m in college for game design as my Major. I have a playlist on my channel for game dev and 3d platformer videos. I’ve written research papers about the game development industry on a variety of topics. Hear me when I say I know what I’m saying when I say they make money don’t most times. Especially on Roblox. I want to make video games to be my full-time job. Having that goal of video game development being my job and “not having it as a source of income” is an oxymoron. You need to unfortunately cave someone else I’m homeless. I either spend less time working on my game to work a job that isn’t my game, or I work on my game. I’m doing it for passion, but I also need to eat sometimes. I get that’s not really the point, but people overlook that. It’s a balance. 2. Your anger is valid but could’ve been rephrased. You acknowledge your annoyance and tone, but at times go for more of an attacking demeanor that isn’t helpful. We can have civil discussions and disagree vehemently. I think you misunderstand the take of a “Roblox game” versus a “game”. As someone working on a passionate game that usually isn’t seen on the platform (3d platformer adventure), I agree that we shouldn’t be limiting and stifling games on Roblox with the “Roblox game” distinction. It’s inherently negative or portrayed as lesser than. It should be stated though that Roblox has an audience and usual game style as defined by Roblox Documentation and algorithm. Multiplayer, microtransactions, high replayability, and a younger audience are what get big on the platform. I don’t mean to sound rude here, but you aren’t the majority of Roblox players. While we can and should be making strides to diversify the platform, by altering Discovery, the Algorithm, and bringing more people to Roblox through other games people make, developers are working with what is already there. This means top dogs like Jailbreak has to somewhat conform to stay relevant on the platform, or I guess that's what Asimo thinks. The game has been getting less popular, and yeah I don’t play it anymore because of the FOMO thing in addition to other things. 3. The end has a dogmatic approach with flawed logic. Scott Cawthon and the FNAF side of things have been going on for a while. It’d be a great oversight to not see the money and popularity side of things. To be short, everyone you list had to make a sacrifice somewhere. You’re biased and seem to not see the mix of passion and money in Jailbreak and other projects.

They do, and that's just the tip of the ice burg they need to stop or have a massive change. Or do 2 a year and more game play updates. They are doing so many. There can't be many good ideas left. The last ones have been god-awful, like the last 13 or 15 seasons.
A few things I disagree with I dont think Asimo and Badcc are greedy. They stopped doing major updates about half a year ago now because they didn't have the passion too anymore. Its why all the updates are just cosmetics now. Its a shame that Rocketeers never took off since that was a prime example that they still had passion, just not for jailbreak. I dont think that the Season Pass is that bad as it'll only get you to level 10 about a week before everyone else without the season pass does. And besides that slight advantage, the items are just cosmetic and dont really add anything. It would be nice if it was removed but at the same time I dont really think its causing any harm to anybody nor is it too p2w to the point of being actually unfair. Most people dont play jailbreak just for the seasons. Since the season revamp last year seasons now last for over 3 months taking only about 2 to 3 weeks without the season pass to complete. You dont even need to do contracts anymore as it'll only take a month and a half to get to level 10 without the season pass and without contracts. If you forget to do the daily xp a lot than you could just do a few contracts to make up for it. Even if you have a 9-5 assuming you get a healthy amount of free time you should have plenty of time to take 15 minutes to do the daily xp each day. Almost every server I joined in jailbreak only like 6 or 8 people had over 100k cash, most people that play jailbreak are new to roblox and simply clicked it because it sounded and looked cool. Out of the 11k currently playing jailbreak at the time of writing this, only about 2k to 3k are probably only playing due to seasons. While this isnt that bad I still wish that the seasons werent all the game had to offer nowadays to give even more people another reason to play it. Trying to make an impressionable thumbnail isnt really that bad. I personally just dont get how thats a bad thing. Asimo is just simply trying to make the most appealing thumbnail without going the brainrot direction. As long as its not anythinf P2w theres really nothing wrong with trying to make an appealing thumbnail. Theres nothing wrong with trying to get more players in your game as long as it doesnt harm anybody or the game itself. Besides that, I agree with everything else said in this video. I hope the gaming industry heals from the battle pass crave. While I dont think seasons are a bad thing, and I find them quite enjoyable. I tihnk games need to find something else now.
props to you for the respectful and respectable dialogue, some people unfortunately don't know how that works lol. i will say that this video was mainly made to judge seasons as an idea when it was added and how it clouded badimo's judgement on making the game going forward, so I didn't consider the current season system much. this video is a part of a sequential series after all. I also stated more about badimo's chase for revenue in the description. The thing about the thumbnails for me was how they all looked the same and weren't designed that well, so it really came off as Asimo trying to make game icons that'll grab the most attention from mindless players rather than just making well presentable icons and thumbnails, much like how a lot of TH-cam thumbnails are nowadays. just wanted to clarify some things that I didn't clearly cover as I felt that this was a good opportunity to do so. I've stopped playing some games and it's a great idea and it gives me time to focus on irl and alot new found sport hobbies and I feel great and have more precise body control while this is a subtle message about touching grass (even though it's winter) it just feels great most big cash grab game devs are already living debt free,stress free rich lives, yet they think they're still too broke
This is why I stopped with seasons, not caring if anyone tried to get me to play seasons because the prizes are "So amazing." Most people only play the game nowadays because they want to own everything due to FOMO. The contracts were so bad to the point that I abused the crew battle system with my alt account to complete the contracts because they were an absolute fucking joke to try to complete in the main game. Devs are so greedy right and I wish we could go back a few years to when games were actually fun to play and we didn't feel forced to play because of virtual items that nobody will give a fuck about in 5-10 years. i didnt like the new seasons because it felt like if i missed a day i wouldnt be able to get the final reward and i only managed to get the final reward for one of them after they randomly extended it by a week i genuinely lost interest in jailbreak after the robbery group update and it took me several hours to get a single robbery contract done im pretty sure you also have to regrind to level 5 to get the bases without VIP
As a person who played jb since 2017 I can totally agree with this But my main issue is how seasons are just a copy paste of the last one rather then each season being different In gameplay My main suggestion is every season they can try to shake up the way the season is progressed Whether it be add more levels after level 10 Or make it that police and criminal teams have their own individual levels again And each season they keep changing seasons gameplay wise so the players can at least feel entertained while playing the game Also the reason JB just has season updates is becuz the Devs are slowly retiring the game But they can at least still prioritise maybe summer and winter for actual updates They did this for the winter update this year and even tho it wasn't much Atleast it was fun I'm personally having fun killing or griefing ppl with the tanker They should prioritise on adding more fun additions rather then more super cars which r just copy paste of an already existing A good example is how they released the iceborn and it's just a parision reskin Instead they should something like a humvee with a 360 rotation turret or an apche attack chopper Hopefully they consider this path for 2025 It will legit save the game
I feel like jb is losing its uniqueness and what it originally was. Now it’s just limited cars and not a lot of fun. Old jb updates were always packed with cool things that kept us excited and actually improved the game. Even the first few seasons of jb were really fun. The game still looks beautiful though
Idk, as Badimo said in their announcement about stopping updates last year there is only so much they can add or change to the game without adding so many niches and completely changing the point of the game. I think people are falling back on nostalgia. Especially if you look at it objectively (2025 vs 2021 vs 2018/17) there is so much more to the game than in 2017/18. And to those who think 2020/21 was peak- 20/21 was peak for a lot of online activities because of Covid. How many games on Roblox or otherwise last SEVEN YEARS? (If you consider 2021 to be peak 4 years is still a good run). I do miss when they used fan thumbnails.
Years and years and years ago when jailbreak had first come out even my younger self was able to recognize that it was a passion project and the devs really wanted to make something different. But as I grew and so did the popularity of jailbreak I realized how pay to win some of the gamepasses were and even back then during 2018-19 I decided it wasn’t worth putting my time into. In 2020 my friend put me onto mad city which was decent sure, but had so many pay to win gamepasses and all that nonsense with the scar gamepass, the swat gamepass, I could go on and on and they even go after the seasons as well. The devs behind mad city are also very un-creative going as far as copying a vehicle straight out of gta 5 and while sure , this is a Roblox game, please just be unique. That was my final nail in the coffin for that game and I haven’t played it since. Recently I noticed that the devs of mad city have no clue how to squeeze money out of their fans anymore so they made a copy of the initial release of the game and put it out as a separate game. It has more players than the actual game. This leads me to wonder whether the Jailbreak devs are going to do the same.
The issue is, as a game developer myself, Roblox pushes the games which make the most money to the top. There is a game me and another dev are making that has 0 active players but it’s fun because we spent time and passion working on it.

more people probably need to reach outside of Roblox as a platform as there are so few games that justify their success on the platform. lethal company is a great example of when that can happen! more worthwhile Roblox games, and indie devs at that, desperately need more love
As a small roblox game developer, it's so sad to see nearly every big roblox game, the "good" games being spotlighted even tho they're(the games) are basically dead. The money hunger of the developers has led to this point. Whats worse is that the game creators who try their best and give in all their creativity get literally nothing or maybe some place visits
I am going to be honest. I loved Jailbreak because it was like a kid friendly version of GTA Similar to Simpsons Hit and Run but the moment Seasons arrived then I lacked interest for it to point I quit few months after Seasons. The game became too modern and Enviroment became too out of place aswell. Itwas terrible. alot of games took that idea off Fortnite Seasons which completely ruined the taste for me completely and I invested alot of playtime in earlier release. I played the game since the release and I loved it and I just wish It just stayed that way from what it originally was but ah well. I will always prefer games that do not change core gameplay at all.
The most insane thing to me is how there's only 10 tiers for a season the lasts months, and something even more insane half of them are trapped behind a pay wall.
I expected them to at least increase the number of tiers and rewards, it just seemed kinda dumb to limit the reward count to only 10 where nearly half of them are inaccessible by freemium players.

Contracts were added to stop people from finishing in a few hours, just add a limit per day like they eventually did that way seasons aren't done in a few hours and the game stays a cops and robbers game. Then either add more tiers or keep 10 and make them all free.

nope! i sometimes grind out to max bounty for the fun of it. in it's own bubble, the jailbreak gameplay formula is still very strong when the game isn't broken to oblivion
The devs are lazy now! They could add gameplay changes like equipments/gadgets one example is a EMP grenade/mine where the map is blurred if uget hit, they could also add milestone rewards for reaching certain amount of money, they could add a burst fire rifle or a automatic shotgun, NEW robberies like Malls or NPC houses, NEW bosses like the boss, NEW apartments, honestly how could the devs not think about this stuff
i like your opinion but i dont really agree, as a jailbreak player since the beginning i have to agree that the game has changed A LOT, but that change needs to exist or the game would probably be forgotten. The New season system has the TRUE purpose to stabilish a solid gamebase that will play their game everyday. The point that i disagree is abt the p2w, seasons are not p2w, they arent "selling" anything that has a impact on the gameplay, they arent putting a crazy car on paid pass, they are putting only cosmetics on that, or else it would be a REAL p2w case, all season itens are made by the comunnity and the developers BUY them with real money, so they gotta "sell" it again to have some profit. When did I ever say seasons were pay-to-win? My issue with the pricey elements of these seasons is that they're such a departure from what the old system was trying to do to the point that it betrayed its own mentality. It's made worse by how worthless the justification for these practices is, and the inherent FOMO factor these have.. This new system is just a band-aid solution to keep players returning to the game. I said in the video that it doesn't make players enthusiastic to play the game again because it's fun, but rather it makes returning to Jailbreak an absolute chore as the reward drives players to play the game. This mentality was NOT present during the game's heyday because people kept playing as the game had updates of consistent quality and was overall well-designed and fun. Is THAT what the game needs to do to stay relevant? Jailbreak needs to go against its own identity of being a good game and have scummy FOMO factors or else it "would probably be forgotten"? Business should NEVER impact game quality. It's not something worth being complacent about. The entire thesis of the video is that these warped philosophies are parasitical to the overall gaming landscape and that more developers don't need to succumb to this backward way of game-making. Also, this video discusses seasons when they were added. There's zero regard for community creation here. Even then, that's a moot point. The first 3 "new seasons" were all made by Asimo himself. There were no creators to pay to "justify" season passes. My point of these new seasons being added solely for money still stands. I appreciate the support, but there are no "good opinions" to be seen here. I can't show/tell you something that doesn't exist. I deeply encourage a reexamination of what I had to say.
I simply don't enjoy jailbreak anymore mainly because of the op items. I don't know whether they can be bought with robux or were included somewhere (but you still had to pay for it with robux) but it's not fun anymore when 8yo Timmy snipes me with a weird taser from across the map and arrests me or 9yo Jason is flying around the jail with his jet, camping and arresting/killing everyone who attempts to escape.

We need more creative season vechicles or just more supercars that are good and way better designed textures because last time we had good texture from seasons was in s17 but not fully because the front of that texture is ugly ,it had potential but it got ruined . car suggestions for s24 suck because they are normal boring cars .I think asimo should ask community for car suggestions or season themes and not always force the theme in december to have season winter theme if the car ideas suck like for s24.I think asimo should restart the seasons again because numbers over 20 as seasons feel weird but if he would do that he would need to have good themes ideas or cars and good cosmetics like void rims, fire texture, s2lvl9 spoiler and not some useless textures like from s20 or s21 because no one uses those
Cars definitely make up a good chunk of the game's public appeal, but I haven't seen that many people care for Hyperchromes all that much, and I honestly don't blame them lol

Asimo is the reason why jailbreak isnt good anymore. It so bland and not good quality game. Just compare the maps from the old more realistic and detailed map compared to the modern day over saturated map. Even compare the older side of the modern map to the expansion side, the quality has gone down which to me was its appeal
The 2022 expansion map even messed up old map like 2019 expansion map after 2022 got ruined ,jetpack island gone ,town that gives more alive vibe is gone ,cool bridge gone, criminal volcano base downgraded because it had less quality ,they removed the lake close to the town and volcano base.Asimo will never understand it that not everything has to be revamped/changed if it was already good enough. 2021 was the last year where modernized map was goood
Bloxstrap. It's useful for multiple applications. It really helps me optimize games to their fullest, and it's nice to change in-game fonts. using the Badang font really makes Jailbreak feel like Jailbreak. I highly recommend it.

a big reason for why doors was so successful is because people were impressed by it's polish and utilization of Roblox's potential of graphical fidelity. perhaps "hyper realistic" wasn't a good choice of words, but the tweet's implication is still flat out wrong. same with frontlines. it was not a failure by any stretch of the imagination. it performed a lot better than most people could dream of achieving. and lastly, you misunderstood my point. believe it or not, there's more reward for making a game than just income. making a game should require being motivated to share your unique ideas with the world to show what you're capable of. I brought up freedom planet and spark for that exact reason. they weren't made because "it's my job and I need revenue", but because they wanted to make a game akin to a bygone era that they loved. the true reward is people enjoying your game because it's fun and artistically valuable. if you're discouraged by not making a dime off of game dev, you should get yourself out of the industry because you misunderstand the point of making video games! jailbreak's inception is a prime example of this. it launched for free and blew up instantly because it was so innovative for the time which badimo did not foresee. that same scenario applies for scott. my point: passion pays off more than greed! but a series of poorly enforced decisions by badimo led us to where we are now. but also, f2p jailbreak is not jailbreak, it's jailbreak lite. obtaining all $25 of gameplay game passes is the actual way to experience jailbreak, so I wouldn't even consider jb f2p. so no, JB wouldn't "fail" if it made less money than now. it was doing just fine without season passes. failure does not come in the form of gain no money. the actual way to fail by making a bad game, which badimo decided to do by making a good game bad. once you limit your perspective on gaming to just being a business, you end up with a shitty slop-centric viewpoint. btw, is it actually true that Scott started out making free games? as far as I was concerned things like sit n survive and there is no pause button were cheap on the app store, and things like the desolate hope we're fully developed RPGs for a worthy price. is there a source that says otherwise?

The car people groups that have come out of the community created season rewards is also so damn awful. The community creations rarely ever fit the original feel of Jailbreak, and the people that play for the cars and trading are some of the most lobotomized people I have ever dealt with.

It's one of the worst changes they made to the game. If I get a contract where I have to rob a certain place a certain number of times, instead of just waiting 5 minutes for it to open again, I now have to spend like an hour or two for the same robbery to open again.

The reason why there is 'contract season' its because Asimo and Badcc doesnt really want to continue Jaiilbreak anymore. Thier passion to continue Jailbreak have wavered. Having seasons enables them to easily add community created items with into thier game with little effort. Furthermore, there is evidence of Asimo and Badcc having different passion outside Jailbreak. For example, (i think) they spent a lot of time creating a different game that didnt succeed.

I’m a Roblox game developer of 4+ years and I’d like to share my thoughts on the video.
1. Game development has a balance between making money and passion. You can’t work on something with no money to put on the table. It’s all a balance.
I don’t think tailoring thumbnails to audiences is inherently bad. Wanting more players makes sense, but I can see how that can look like greed. If I have cars and robbing banks in my game, and I show vehicles to someone who would’ve clicked the icon if it was robbing banks (and enjoyed the game if they clicked it) then I think that’s fine right?
(personal experience) I got a part-time job (full-time hours most weeks) so that I could keep working on my passion project video game on Roblox. Passion projects don’t usually make money, I’ve researched all this stuff for 6+ years now. I’m in college for game design as my Major. I have a playlist on my channel for game dev and 3d platformer videos. I’ve written research papers about the game development industry on a variety of topics. Hear me when I say I know what I’m saying when I say they make money don’t most times. Especially on Roblox. I want to make video games to be my full-time job. Having that goal of video game development being my job and “not having it as a source of income” is an oxymoron. You need to unfortunately cave someone else I’m homeless. I either spend less time working on my game to work a job that isn’t my game, or I work on my game. I’m doing it for passion, but I also need to eat sometimes. I get that’s not really the point, but people overlook that. It’s a balance.
2. Your anger is valid but could’ve been rephrased. You acknowledge your annoyance and tone, but at times go for more of an attacking demeanor that isn’t helpful. We can have civil discussions and disagree vehemently.
I think you misunderstand the take of a “Roblox game” versus a “game”. As someone working on a passionate game that usually isn’t seen on the platform (3d platformer adventure), I agree that we shouldn’t be limiting and stifling games on Roblox with the “Roblox game” distinction. It’s inherently negative or portrayed as lesser than. It should be stated though that Roblox has an audience and usual game style as defined by Roblox Documentation and algorithm. Multiplayer, microtransactions, high replayability, and a younger audience are what get big on the platform. I don’t mean to sound rude here, but you aren’t the majority of Roblox players.
While we can and should be making strides to diversify the platform, by altering Discovery, the Algorithm, and bringing more people to Roblox through other games people make, developers are working with what is already there. This means top dogs like Jailbreak has to somewhat conform to stay relevant on the platform, or I guess that's what Asimo thinks. The game has been getting less popular, and yeah I don’t play it anymore because of the FOMO thing in addition to other things.
3. The end has a dogmatic approach with flawed logic.
Scott Cawthon and the FNAF side of things have been going on for a while. It’d be a great oversight to not see the money and popularity side of things.
To be short, everyone you list had to make a sacrifice somewhere. You’re biased and seem to not see the mix of passion and money in Jailbreak and other projects.

They do, and that's just the tip of the ice burg they need to stop or have a massive change. Or do 2 a year and more game play updates. They are doing so many. There can't be many good ideas left. The last ones have been god-awful, like the last 13 or 15 seasons.
A few things I disagree with
I dont think Asimo and Badcc are greedy. They stopped doing major updates about half a year ago now because they didn't have the passion too anymore. Its why all the updates are just cosmetics now. Its a shame that Rocketeers never took off since that was a prime example that they still had passion, just not for jailbreak. I dont think that the Season Pass is that bad as it'll only get you to level 10 about a week before everyone else without the season pass does. And besides that slight advantage, the items are just cosmetic and dont really add anything. It would be nice if it was removed but at the same time I dont really think its causing any harm to anybody nor is it too p2w to the point of being actually unfair.
Most people dont play jailbreak just for the seasons. Since the season revamp last year seasons now last for over 3 months taking only about 2 to 3 weeks without the season pass to complete. You dont even need to do contracts anymore as it'll only take a month and a half to get to level 10 without the season pass and without contracts. If you forget to do the daily xp a lot than you could just do a few contracts to make up for it. Even if you have a 9-5 assuming you get a healthy amount of free time you should have plenty of time to take 15 minutes to do the daily xp each day.
Almost every server I joined in jailbreak only like 6 or 8 people had over 100k cash, most people that play jailbreak are new to roblox and simply clicked it because it sounded and looked cool. Out of the 11k currently playing jailbreak at the time of writing this, only about 2k to 3k are probably only playing due to seasons. While this isnt that bad I still wish that the seasons werent all the game had to offer nowadays to give even more people another reason to play it.
Trying to make an impressionable thumbnail isnt really that bad. I personally just dont get how thats a bad thing. Asimo is just simply trying to make the most appealing thumbnail without going the brainrot direction. As long as its not anythinf P2w theres really nothing wrong with trying to make an appealing thumbnail. Theres nothing wrong with trying to get more players in your game as long as it doesnt harm anybody or the game itself.
Besides that, I agree with everything else said in this video. I hope the gaming industry heals from the battle pass crave. While I dont think seasons are a bad thing, and I find them quite enjoyable. I tihnk games need to find something else now.

i will say that this video was mainly made to judge seasons as an idea when it was added and how it clouded badimo's judgement on making the game going forward, so I didn't consider the current season system much. this video is a part of a sequential series after all. I also stated more about badimo's chase for revenue in the description.
The thing about the thumbnails for me was how they all looked the same and weren't designed that well, so it really came off as Asimo trying to make game icons that'll grab the most attention from mindless players rather than just making well presentable icons and thumbnails, much like how a lot of TH-cam thumbnails are nowadays.

This is why I stopped with seasons, not caring if anyone tried to get me to play seasons because the prizes are "So amazing." Most people only play the game nowadays because they want to own everything due to FOMO. The contracts were so bad to the point that I abused the crew battle system with my alt account to complete the contracts because they were an absolute fucking joke to try to complete in the main game. Devs are so greedy right and I wish we could go back a few years to when games were actually fun to play and we didn't feel forced to play because of virtual items that nobody will give a fuck about in 5-10 years.

i genuinely lost interest in jailbreak after the robbery group update and it took me several hours to get a single robbery contract done

But my main issue is how seasons are just a copy paste of the last one rather then each season being different In gameplay
My main suggestion is every season they can try to shake up the way the season is progressed
Whether it be add more levels after level 10
Or make it that police and criminal teams have their own individual levels again
And each season they keep changing seasons gameplay wise so the players can at least feel entertained while playing the game
Also the reason JB just has season updates is becuz the Devs are slowly retiring the game

Old jb updates were always packed with cool things that kept us excited and actually improved the game. Even the first few seasons of jb were really fun. The game still looks beautiful though
Idk, as Badimo said in their announcement about stopping updates last year there is only so much they can add or change to the game without adding so many niches and completely changing the point of the game. I think people are falling back on nostalgia. Especially if you look at it objectively (2025 vs 2021 vs 2018/17) there is so much more to the game than in 2017/18. And to those who think 2020/21 was peak- 20/21 was peak for a lot of online activities because of Covid. How many games on Roblox or otherwise last SEVEN YEARS? (If you consider 2021 to be peak 4 years is still a good run). I do miss when they used fan thumbnails.

Years and years and years ago when jailbreak had first come out even my younger self was able to recognize that it was a passion project and the devs really wanted to make something different. But as I grew and so did the popularity of jailbreak I realized how pay to win some of the gamepasses were and even back then during 2018-19 I decided it wasn’t worth putting my time into. In 2020 my friend put me onto mad city which was decent sure, but had so many pay to win gamepasses and all that nonsense with the scar gamepass, the swat gamepass, I could go on and on and they even go after the seasons as well. The devs behind mad city are also very un-creative going as far as copying a vehicle straight out of gta 5 and while sure , this is a Roblox game, please just be unique. That was my final nail in the coffin for that game and I haven’t played it since. Recently I noticed that the devs of mad city have no clue how to squeeze money out of their fans anymore so they made a copy of the initial release of the game and put it out as a separate game. It has more players than the actual game. This leads me to wonder whether the Jailbreak devs are going to do the same.

The issue is, as a game developer myself, Roblox pushes the games which make the most money to the top. There is a game me and another dev are making that has 0 active players but it’s fun because we spent time and passion working on it.

I am going to be honest. I loved Jailbreak because it was like a kid friendly version of GTA
Similar to Simpsons Hit and Run but the moment Seasons arrived then I lacked interest for it to point I quit few months after Seasons.
The game became too modern and Enviroment became too out of place aswell. Itwas terrible.
alot of games took that idea off Fortnite Seasons which completely ruined the taste for me completely

The most insane thing to me is how there's only 10 tiers for a season the lasts months, and something even more insane half of them are trapped behind a pay wall.
I expected them to at least increase the number of tiers and rewards, it just seemed kinda dumb to limit the reward count to only 10 where nearly half of them are inaccessible by freemium players.

Contracts were added to stop people from finishing in a few hours, just add a limit per day like they eventually did that way seasons aren't done in a few hours and the game stays a cops and robbers game. Then either add more tiers or keep 10 and make them all free.

i like your opinion but i dont really agree, as a jailbreak player since the beginning i have to agree that the game has changed A LOT, but that change needs to exist or the game would probably be forgotten. The New season system has the TRUE purpose to stabilish a solid gamebase that will play their game everyday. The point that i disagree is abt the p2w, seasons are not p2w, they arent "selling" anything that has a impact on the gameplay, they arent putting a crazy car on paid pass, they are putting only cosmetics on that, or else it would be a REAL p2w case, all season itens are made by the comunnity and the developers BUY them with real money, so they gotta "sell" it again to have some profit. When did I ever say seasons were pay-to-win? My issue with the pricey elements of these seasons is that they're such a departure from what the old system was trying to do to the point that it betrayed its own mentality. It's made worse by how worthless the justification for these practices is, and the inherent FOMO factor these have.. This new system is just a band-aid solution to keep players returning to the game. I said in the video that it doesn't make players enthusiastic to play the game again because it's fun, but rather it makes returning to Jailbreak an absolute chore as the reward drives players to play the game. This mentality was NOT present during the game's heyday because people kept playing as the game had updates of consistent quality and was overall well-designed and fun. Is THAT what the game needs to do to stay relevant? Jailbreak needs to go against its own identity of being a good game and have scummy FOMO factors or else it "would probably be forgotten"? Business should NEVER impact game quality. It's not something worth being complacent about. The entire thesis of the video is that these warped philosophies are parasitical to the overall gaming landscape and that more developers don't need to succumb to this backward way of game-making. Also, this video discusses seasons when they were added. There's zero regard for community creation here. Even then, that's a moot point. The first 3 "new seasons" were all made by Asimo himself. There were no creators to pay to "justify" season passes. My point of these new seasons being added solely for money still stands. I appreciate the support, but there are no "good opinions" to be seen here. I can't show/tell you something that doesn't exist. I deeply encourage a reexamination of what I had to say.
I simply don't enjoy jailbreak anymore mainly because of the op items. I don't know whether they can be bought with robux or were included somewhere (but you still had to pay for it with robux) but it's not fun anymore when 8yo Timmy snipes me with a weird taser from across the map and arrests me or 9yo Jason is flying around the jail with his jet, camping and arresting/killing everyone who attempts to escape.

12:26 I don’t think anyone makes a game just to make it, like all devs want/and some need to make money from their game but they do need to actually care about what they are creating, basically what im saying all devs want to make something off of their game but they didn’t make the game just for money. We need more creative season vechicles or just more supercars that are good and way better designed textures because last time we had good texture from seasons was in s17 but not fully because the front of that texture is ugly ,it had potential but it got ruined . car suggestions for s24 suck because they are normal boring cars .I think asimo should ask community for car suggestions or season themes and not always force the theme in december to have season winter theme if the car ideas suck like for s24.I think asimo should restart the seasons again because numbers over 20 as seasons feel weird but if he would do that he would need to have good themes ideas or cars and good cosmetics like void rims, fire texture, s2lvl9 spoiler and not some useless textures like from s20 or s21 because no one uses those

Season 1-10 were better, the rest sucks even tho i own most of lvl 10 vehicles over season 11

Everything in life is unfair ,some people are rich and some broke thats how games work .Annoying things in this game are sweats and if there are too much campers in one server because 2-3 campers is okay but more than that is just annoying

Jailbreak is turning(had turned) into a car game. All the new players care about the cars, well some of them are cool I'm not gonna lie,but this isnt a car game. Jailbreak has more potential, it's just that the developers aren't doing it for fun anymore. Atleast they could tell the players the harsh truth and maybe make updates when they have collected their good ideas that aren't p2w.

Asimo is the reason why jailbreak isnt good anymore. It so bland and not good quality game. Just compare the maps from the old more realistic and detailed map compared to the modern day over saturated map. Even compare the older side of the modern map to the expansion side, the quality has gone down which to me was its appeal
The 2022 expansion map even messed up old map like 2019 expansion map after 2022 got ruined ,jetpack island gone ,town that gives more alive vibe is gone ,cool bridge gone, criminal volcano base downgraded because it had less quality ,they removed the lake close to the town and volcano base.Asimo will never understand it that not everything has to be revamped/changed if it was already good enough. 2021 was the last year where modernized map was goood

Bloxstrap. It's useful for multiple applications. It really helps me optimize games to their fullest, and it's nice to change in-game fonts. using the Badang font really makes Jailbreak feel like Jailbreak. I highly recommend it.

a big reason for why doors was so successful is because people were impressed by it's polish and utilization of Roblox's potential of graphical fidelity. perhaps "hyper realistic" wasn't a good choice of words, but the tweet's implication is still flat out wrong. same with frontlines. it was not a failure by any stretch of the imagination. it performed a lot better than most people could dream of achieving.
and lastly, you misunderstood my point. believe it or not, there's more reward for making a game than just income. making a game should require being motivated to share your unique ideas with the world to show what you're capable of. I brought up freedom planet and spark for that exact reason. they weren't made because "it's my job and I need revenue", but because they wanted to make a game akin to a bygone era that they loved. the true reward is people enjoying your game because it's fun and artistically valuable. if you're discouraged by not making a dime off of game dev, you should get yourself out of the industry because you misunderstand the point of making video games! jailbreak's inception is a prime example of this. it launched for free and blew up instantly because it was so innovative for the time which badimo did not foresee. that same scenario applies for scott. my point: passion pays off more than greed! but a series of poorly enforced decisions by badimo led us to where we are now. but also, f2p jailbreak is not jailbreak, it's jailbreak lite. obtaining all $25 of gameplay game passes is the actual way to experience jailbreak, so I wouldn't even consider jb f2p. so no, JB wouldn't "fail" if it made less money than now. it was doing just fine without season passes. failure does not come in the form of gain no money. the actual way to fail by making a bad game, which badimo decided to do by making a good game bad. once you limit your perspective on gaming to just being a business, you end up with a shitty slop-centric viewpoint.
btw, is it actually true that Scott started out making free games? as far as I was concerned things like sit n survive and there is no pause button were cheap on the app store, and things like the desolate hope we're fully developed RPGs for a worthy price. is there a source that says otherwise?
