The Found Link, Holsinger's Fly Shop

The Found Link is a Kelly Galloup pattern I was asked to tie for an order recently that I thought I should share with you guys. This pattern is made to float. Also, I need to note that this is a generic pattern and is intended to be tied in multiple colors and sizes to match the hatches in your area. This was a very fun pattern for me to tie because it blends a lot of techniques I've used in other videos to make one cool looking fly.

Great fly bud. I’ll have to show you a caddis imitation I came up with last year that is buggy and floats like a cork and hold a 3.0 bead no problem. It uses some special deer hair dubbing from Hemingway and every time I put it on I know I can see it and the fish like it.

I’ve messed around with that dubbing a little bit When it first came out but haven’t used it since. Was gonna try a cases Caddis with it but haven’t done it yet.

@@HolsingersFlyShop I love using it for the head of the caddis that I tie that floats like a cork. I can get it to the point where the head looks like spun deer hair. I’ll drop by the shop sometime and give you a few

Agreed. I love fishing cripples and spent wing style dries over the standard Catskills and parachutes that most people fish.

It’s actually not as difficult as it may originally look. After tying a couple and I got on to them and can tie them pretty quickly.
