When you asked about a TAPE RECORDER you seem to be making the point of the DIFFERENCE between the STIMULUS and the PERCEPTION or RESPONSE that is part of the REAL YOU or interpreter of the world. IOW, all we seem to have is a self-awareness of our consciousness or perception of what is apparently some kind of undifferentiated, unknowable world out there.(the EIN SOF)
Can you say that if the SOUL is not you then maybe what the Neshama does - namely act as an INTERPRETER of the stimuli provided by the body giving a constantly changing result, or ABSTRACTION - that this identifies YOU?
Is it possible a lens is needed in olam Haba in order to maintain a sort of separateness from God? Would one completely unite with Hashem and loss self without it?
the zimzum ultimately is transformed from a holding back to one which alows us to climb back toward G-d from our perspective according to chassidus (mammar ayin beis of Rashab) to allow the light of before the zimzum and after it to unfold in a manner which is not damaging any more through our transformation of the animal soul into the way that it fuels the light the neshama can produce since ultimately the trace has what came before it...since the fixed version of the animal soul is the one which is most strongly connected with the atzmus level of essence in which it feels most real.just like phsical feels very real to us..thus the fixed version of the animal soul with all its power and is actually rooted in a level that is higher and more connected to the essence. than the divine soul.in its ultimate version as it will manifest in the transformed version...Hashem has allowed the boundary perspective and non boundary perspectives to both exist and as far as he is concerned there is no difference to him they are two tracks he made, but for the one who is aware of only the one with a border than the one beyond without border seems apart so its only from the perspective we need to heal from..and the way the change takes place is through our transforming our animal soul to not just want selfishly, but want unity and love with G-d.
