The reason behind why we called it a micrometre screw gauge is because it works on the "principle of micrometre screw" which states that distance moved by screw due to one complete rotation is equal to the distance between two consecutive threads of screw

Screw gauge is also called micrometre screw because it can measure upto micro meter ( 10*-6)-- this is wrong it work on the principal of micrometre screw so it is called micrometre screw. (Please reply Sir )

sir you have a positive error in your screw gauge right But for simplification you're showing zero error I can find out because 2.9 millimetre means close to 3MM but it is close to 2MM not 3MM so most probably it will be positive error due to which you got an little extra length but you have to get only 2 millimetres
