I love scientific wax, always have, equinox, nebula, dub-one, bizzy b etc etc, love their music, but what really angers me is that this has been shared by somebody called 'drumandcore' with a breakcore profile image. This aint breakcore and it really fucks me off when my favourite types of music, jungle and d&b get hijacked by fucking kids who dont have their own decent music so they try and re-contextualise older stuff and say its something else.
+lee coates Were this a deep house channel I'd be 100% in agreement with you, but there is legitimately nothing awry with someone who enjoys breakcore also appreciating other cut up styles of jungle- your snobbery just comes across as embarrassing. As one of the 'kids' you mentioned, just because I wasn't gifted with a 70's birthdate it doesn't mean I can't enjoy these tunes as much as you. Be grateful I didn't respond with a mere 'okay grandad'. btw unrelated, but I really like your hidden spots vid, have you read much Iain Sinclair?
+irnybru Agreed. If someone's in to breakcore, this might be a welcome introduction to jungle for them. The more people that hear this, the better IMO.
Whoa, this sounds nothing like Pendulum. Not sure if you'd call it drum and bass; as one would properly describe Pendulum's sound. Didn't they listen to this stuff in the 70's? Pretty sure my Nan used to listen to this ye-olde stuff whilst snorting lines of crushed up peppermints mixed down with Metamucil. Sounds a bit camp too.
Pendulum is just the most accessible sound in the genre. That doesn't mean that it's the only style, much like Skrillex isn't what all dubstep sounds like. Pendulum's sound is standard two-step. This style is known as 'drumfunk', which relies on amen breakbeat samples that are cut up, rearranged, and/or distorted. It often has a bit of a relaxed, atmospheric sound to it, but not always, as the focus is on the drums. As for the '70s vibe you have, that's because the drum samples are taken from relatively obscure funk songs from the era, hence 'drumfunk'. The "camp" sound you hear is a result of the aforementioned distortion. I hope that helps you understand this style a bit better. If you're interested in looking more into it, here are some artists to check out: Alaska, Breakage, Chris Inperspective, Dub-One, Equinox, Nebula, Paradox, and Seba.
I'm not too familiar with their work tbh, and I wasn't under the impression you were a fan. I just thought maybe you'd appreciate some more information on a subgenre of D&B you were seemingly unfamiliar with. My bad for bothering you.

Metalhead77736 I was being insincere. Pendulum are appalling.
I'm not too familiar with their work tbh, and I wasn't under the impression you were a fan. I just thought maybe you'd appreciate some more information on a subgenre of D&B you were seemingly unfamiliar with. My bad for bothering you.
Metalhead77736 All good. I've been listening to this stuff since the wee 90's. I just have a pathological distaste for Pendulum, is all.
i blame your short attention span.
(so ill keep things short for you.)
