I was a depressed and traumatised child with suicidal thoughts, its something i wouldn't wish on my worst enemy and all I want to do is gather Gaza's children into my arms to hold them safe. It’s been 11 months and i still cry whenever i hear Hind’s phone call. Whoever was the voice on the other side that was trying to calm Hind down, guiding her to say a prayer, should also be commended. I hope someone knows who she was. Thanks for the hard work you do. I can feel the amount of research and love on this to honor Hind. May she never be forgotten.
My late grandmother had to hide in an attic from the nazis. She was nearly found multiple times. Her and my grandfather used to compare the treatment of the Palestinians by Israel to their own persecution at the hands of the nazis. A few weeks ago, I was thinking that if there was an afterlife, my grandmother must be cooking her delicious food for all the little children who have abruptly arrived from Gaza. I pictured in my head her kissing their foreheads and saying to them "you are a good kid" in her native language just like she used to do to me, because that's exactly what she would have done. That image made me start uncontrollably sobbing for the next half hour. My grandparents did not go through such horrific persecution only for their religion to be used as an excuse for the same treatment. When I heard the audio of Hind on the news, I immediately began telling my family that this little girl is the Anne Frank of our times. I am sure the two of them are good friends in the afterlife, and enjoying my grandmother's kugel and olieballen while she fusses over them.

In some cultures it is believed those of the same heritage and those who share the same traumas or committed the same sins will come dwell within the same realms of the hereafter for eternity. Either keeping each-other company, uniting ancestors with their descendants, comforting others that were similarly wronged in life, and/or for those less fortunate who lived poorly to share in their righteous torment besides those guilty of the same crimes. I like to think perhaps they are right because if so then I know not only will Hind beside your grandmother whom as children of the same pain and more tragically ironic the same ancestors (Canaanites) she will be in good company. The part where the volunteer was reciting Quran with Hind always breaks my heart, because despite her not knowing Hind, she helped her recite with the exact tenderness and tone that any mother would.
As a Catholic who considers Muslims as my spiritual brothers and sisters, despite our differences, I too was profoundly moved by their recitation of the Quran and the solace those prayers seemed to offer them.

I sympathized with the tragedy of the people of Palestein since the genocide began however, it did not hit home until I saw the clip of Adrian Brody walking down a war torn Warsaw (a fragment from the movie the Pianist) in 14:30. I remember going to the theater with my dad to see that movie. We both started crying the second they showed our beautiful city before the war and and cried through the entire movie until the credits rolled. We were the only two people in the theater with such a reaction because the movie showed our home and what the Poles had to go through. Ha! What my grandparents went through... how that takes a toll on next generations... I am so sincerely sorry you have to watch such destruction happen to the people and the place you feel so connected to. I cannot imagine the pain you must feel watching this go on LIVE. Salam Alikum When I was a very young boy.... The police in Sacramento pulled my family over for driving too slow in a neighborhood. When the policeman came to the vehicle, I had a melt down and started screaming thinking I was going to prison and my fit of fright did not stop for anything or anyone. This young Muslimah was quite tempered in the face of that onslaught being conducted on her and her family. Whatever fear she had, she concealed it very well and it allowed her to communicate perfectly. I on the other hand, would of been a complete reck. It's truly amazing the power and courage Allah gives to some human-beings over others and how He debases others... Even if they don't perceive it, yet.

Hi Indie Nile, I have been watching your videos regularly since you started commenting on Love is Blind. I sympathized with the tragedy of the people of Palestein since the genocide began however, it did not hit home until I saw the clip of Adrian Brody walking down a war torn Warsaw (a fragment from the movie the Pianist) in 14:30. I remember going to the theater with my dad to see that movie. We both started crying the second they showed our beautiful city before the war and and cried through the entire movie until the credits rolled. We were the only two people in the theater with such a reaction because the movie showed our home and what the Poles had to go through. Ha! What my grandparents went through... how that takes a toll on next generations...

When I was a very young boy.... The police in Sacramento pulled my family over for driving too slow in a neighborhood.
When the policeman came to the vehicle, I had a melt down and started screaming thinking I was going to prison and my fit of fright did not stop for anything or anyone.
This young Muslimah was quite tempered in the face of that onslaught being conducted on her and her family. Whatever fear she had, she concealed it very well and it allowed her to communicate perfectly.
I on the other hand, would of been a complete reck.
It's truly amazing the power and courage Allah gives to some human-beings over others and how He debases others... Even if they don't perceive it, yet.
