Good repair to the 4430. After 3 generations of dairy farming we dumped milk 1 time and that was due to Hurricane Katrina in 2005. After that we shut the dairy down due to much storm damage. But we were a small dairy and it was long overdue. I don’t miss the hard ache. Stay positive for what it’s worth.
Glad to see you got the 4430 cooled off Shane! Sorry I'm late to the comment party.Glad to hear they're not having you dump milk yet, that's a damn crime! I don't think the average person understands that when you dump, all the money in fuel, and crop expenses planting and harvesting silage not to mention hay is just gone. You're never getting that back, plus I would assume you still have to feed the cows good quality feed or the milk production will be way down when you do het to sell it again. Cheers bud. I bought about 4 pounds of cheese today, hopefully that helps!
Luke every bit helps ! Not very many people understand farming as a hole if we can't get it to them they are going to be hungry fast! Thank you very much people like you are the ones who are helping us !👍🍻👌
@@shaneholst6940 I know just enough to be dangerous. But I do know that I love milk, cheese, sour cream, butter and ice cream. I also know that none of that is possible without hard working guys like you. Just wish I could buy direct from you i stead of the stores here, buy I'm trying to do my part!
They are having to dump milk here in NY for at least this weekend. All sizes of dairys. Mostly cheese and yougurt plants. Article on google from Reuters news about a dairy in Wisconsin.
If you can hold on, things will get better!!! Just don't lose everything in the process 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 I haven't heard of anyone having to dump milk here yet, but then most of the dairies already closed the doors here😪 Affects all of us!! My trucks haven't turned a wheel for silage in seven years... We haven't sold clover out of the field in almost 20 years.. the trucking was my main income for over 20 years. Dairies do well, all of agriculture does well. We are all hurting, some more than others..
Dang crazy weather. We were just at 70 degrees yesterday & dropped to 45 degrees today here in my area. Yep, crazy aggravating times right now. I've never seen anything like this before & hope not to ever again. Just keep your head up & do the best you can. Stay safe.
I've got a chicken that is always making noise. (Check about 3 videos back). It doesn't help when the stores have a 1 gallon limit on milk unless you are on food stamps, then you can buy 4 gallons. Explain that one to me. My household are milk drinkers and we love cheese too. Hang tough Shane! MB BAR RANCH
Keep the snow that way and hang in there Shane
Aw you need a little more like us that way you won't feel left out!👍😂
