Hi Dale, good to have you back. Don't ever apologise for 'rabbiting on", tjose are the best bits! Whatever you say is interesting, informative, funny or just plain human and friendly. This journey was enjoyable, we love 'riding the rails' with you, wherever it is!
Seconded
Wonderful ❤
I absolutely agree.
Fully agree👍
Hi Dale. Your rabbiting on is what makes these videos so interesting. Please don't apologise. I so look forward to seeing the next trip. Well done for giving such an insight into the Piccadilly Line. Many thanks. Simon. 😀👍
Thanks Dale, have been watching your videos since a couple of weeks, love them. Very relaxing and informative at the same time. I am planning to go to London again, my last visit was 2011. I am from The Netherlands.
"I'll gloss over that one" Smooth with the ladies 😂. I'm sure there'll be plenty ladies out there who'll be happy to spend some time with a decent chap. Great videos and very entertaining. 👍
"Rabbit on" as much as you want, Dale! Good video/commentary. Hope all is well with you. Thanks for sharing. 😊 👍
I'm glad I watched this, Sometimes good to see the drivers eye view, as a Truck Driver myself, I like to see the drivers or on boats and aircraft, the Captains eye view.
I've been a passenger on the tube, but never had a view from the business end!
4:58 that's the A40, which the M40 runs into, heading into London. The old station platforms were located where the bridge over the A40 is, and the station was rebuilt and relocated to make way for the a new A40 bypass of Hillingdon Circus, which got very congested. Hence the very long footbridge between the station entrance on Long Lane and the platforms.
Thanks Dale for an relaxing drive in the evening light!
That's not rambling. That's interesting and informative chatter! Keep doing the same, thank you so much. Also, I would like to thank your company for letting you film these great videos. It's a privilege to me that they allow you to do it in such a safety-critical role.
I am really glad that the London Underground Piccadilly Line have given you permission to film these videos. I think that it is a really good move on their part because it shows just how competent and knowledgeable you and your colleagues are. The 'rabbiting on' both demonstrates that knowledge and competence as well as being really interesting at the same time. Thanks Dale, much appreciated.
Hi Dale, fairly new to your videos but enjoying them immensely, your commentary really compliments the journey so please keep giving the info👍
Bedankt
Sorry for the late reply. I really do appreciate the support
Excellent video again Dale thanks and dont stop the rambling its adds to the journey and is infornative
Hi Dale. Found you by accident the other day and have been transfixed ever since. Your videos are fun, informative and a great way to wind down after a stressful day in the NHS. Many thanks.
Watching from southern west virginia. Love these.
I'm jealous of the frequency of trains in London. Round here we're lucky if we get two an hour, and they're always packed.
Lucky you! Round here (south Cumbria), sometimes we get only one train every two hours! 😂
@@tidaljunk Eeeh. A train every two hours? Luxury! Down our way there's 1 train a fortnight and the passengers have to pull it thi sens....... with their teeth!
Brilliant! You can rabbit on as much as you like. I enjoy following the train’s progress on Google maps. Thanks for these great videos!
Thanks again Dale for another great video. I'm glad you drive older stock trains, aligning with my happy memories of traveling on the tube as a kid with my parents & brothers back in the '70s, and being so fascinated with the whole experience. And now being all grown up and old but an engineer, the technical side of it really interests me. Thanks again.
Another daylight video !
Great…
I still have not decided if I prefer day - or night videos…!😂
That's the first time I've travelled Uxbridge to Acton Town, thank you Dale. Keep 'rabbiting on' please, I like all the information.
Lov this eve view video and I'm a fan of the London underground
I generally look forward to your videos every week keep them coming
I worked on the T5 project for 6 years, it's good to see the tube run from a different angle. Your videos are brilliant, thanks for sharing
I’d personally not change anything about your videos. They are informative and entertaining and come across great on the big tele.
Excellent again. The right amount of commentary for me!
A very good trip. Full of interest. Enjoy your commentary. Keep us informed about other lines going over or under us and any other points of interest. Thank you for an enjoyable video.
Love UK cab view videos, whether over or underground. Yours are up there with the best. Keep em comin.
Hi dale glad you keep the videos of travel going love your commentary and knowledge. Will never get tired of what you do mate
Just had to pause the video - I was in fits of laughter at the comment about your smooth stops 😂😂
I am as smooth as gravel
Rabbit on rabbit on … It’s informative, thank you ❤
Excellent video as always I see.
I love London so much this is the kind of video that makes me cry because I miss it 😭
Had to watch this. Whenever I come up to London, sometimes to visit LT Museum Depot, I drop my car at Hillingdon. If I came from near where I live by train, it would be on the Chiltern line from Bicester, that crosses the bridge you mention. I used to go to school on the '73 stock when first introduced. Now 68 and retired, lasted me my entire working life !
I’ve to London a few times and travelled on the tube. I never realised that different lines shared the same track. Good video.
thanks
just watching this video as you mentioned the A747 number a 747 flew over my house from east midlands airport
Love the running commentary, brilliant video, thanks for sharing....
I wouldn't worry about there being anything "interesting" in a video, Dale. Or about rabbiting on. Personally, I watch your videos to get out of the house on a mini-trip without actually leaving the comfort of a convenient kettle. And having a commentary, even if it's not about anything important, keeps the mind occupied. I have watched cab view videos without commentary and they can become less engaging if there's nothing but silence for an extended time. Also don't worry about repeating things you've said in previous videos. There's always going to be a fist time viewer who's never heard it before. ;)
Loving these vids Dale, keep them coming. Great commentary throughout too 👍
Hey Dale, I hope life is treating you well. 👍
I can’t complain. Hope all is good with you. Enjoy the weekend
Love these regular service videos. Thanks, and please keep showing more. 😀
Hey Dale, i love your videos but i also love your commentary, its very informative like when your saying what service brake your using. just class mate
Honestly I dont mind when there's nothing "original" in one of your vids. They're nice to have on while I work through all this admin :)
Hi Dale, keep up the 'rabbiting', we love it! Remember if you have any funny stories, odd passenger interactions or days that things didn't go right we'd love to hear about them.
I do have to be careful about what stories I tell. But if I think of any that wouldn’t get me in to trouble I will share them in future videos
@@dalecharmantravels8057 Oh yes Dale, I realise some stuff might be confidential but anybody can have strange or odd things happen at work, even tube drivers! So if you can share any anecdotes it would be good to hear them.
Also, if you're driving the last train of the night is 'lamping out' still done by the platform staff and are you allowed to wait for any stragglers to get on board?
@@martynthomas7486 I don’t do the last train that’s done by the night drivers. But I believe lamping out is still done at some stations
Thanks for the ride, Dale.
Finally got around to watching this video. What a delightful evening to be driving a train on a really lovely and scenic branch line! I’ve only ever travelled from Heathrow to the city on my odd visit to London so it’s excellent to see the Uxbridge branch. Oh and please keep rabbiting on. It’s the most interesting rabbiting I’ve heard in ages! 😂 Nice one Dale! 👍🏻
Good answer for the ones who want more than they're getting I'm assuming that if it were possible you'd be doing it or negotiating with those at the cloud covered summit . Great video 👍🇬🇧
Hello, I’m from Rome and I watch your videos which I find very interesting, thank you for your reportings!
Excellent video, excellent quality. Really enjoyed it, thanks.
Rayners Lane to Acton Town is my favourite section of the Underground. I have no idea why.
First one of these I’ve watched. Interesting to see driver’s eye view - I’d never noticed the variety of tunnel portal surrounds in real life: some with curved blocks, some coloured Pic line blue or to complement the station’s tile pattern, etc.
Good day. Watching from AZ USA.
Like the ride alongs I'd never see that part of the country like that
Very soothing watching your videos. Although I live in Devon now, I used to travel a lot along this section of the Piccadilly so this brings back fond memories.
Great Dale.... I'm gonna watch this eating me dinner......love watching these
thank you and i love trains so much
Great video dale
Nice one!
Lovely video - and a great diagram for 221, ultimately into those South Harrow sidings.
thanks for another great video, I do enjoy you chatting to us as you drive explaining what your doing and what the track controls and signals mean in real time. Nice to have a video outside where we can see a lot more than when your in the tube.. Be Crazy!
Another great video thank you so much. Keep up the great work fascinating
Another great video Dale, I find your content fascinating and informative. Being a Northerner it's been years since I travelled on the underground but as the World's first it's history has always fascinated me from and engineering point of view and your commentary does point out some interesting facts .👍.
Excellent, great view and commentary always interesting.
Relaxing 😊
hey CSA here i heard a rumor that the next driver job campaign will be for pic line only
I have heard that rumour too
Dale, thank you. I used to commute to my secondary school between Uxbridge and Ruislip Manor, sometimes Eastcote. An interesting view
Always enjoy these videos and your commentary is fab! :)
Please don't apologise for rabbiting on it's what we love about you.
Excellent post more videos as enjoy watching .cheers buddy
Many thanks for the video, Dave. can’t see myself going back to London anytime soon, I always enjoyed the tube.
Nice one Dale can you please do a video between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge and talking about the Metropolitan and piccadilly lines
Hi Dale. Love your videos and never get bored. Love the odd bit of info you give us all. I’m also into aircraft like yourself but never flown but obviously love all things weather. Keep up the great work I really miss London so it feels like I’m there. Take care and regards from the Uk’s most Easterly town by the sea 😊
Lovely video as always, don't be sorry for rabbiting on, your commentary is great :)
Most enjoyable, thank you.
For many years, the Piccadilly Line trains on the branch via Alperton used to mainly terminate at Rayners Lane, with trains only continuing to Uxbridge in the rush hours. These days, although there are still more Met trains between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge, the section gets a regular service of through trains on the Piccadilly.
Wonderful video as always Dale. Geoff Marshall in his recent video on South Harrow also makes reference to the spur along with other interesting titbits about the station. Safe travels Sir.
Hi Dale.thanks for doing these videos very enjoyable. All the best
For me, there doesn't have to be 'anything special', I just enjoy driver's eye views. The longer the journey, the better.
4:31 Airbus 747 sounds like something the media would say
Interesting videos are these . Well done
I think what people mean by "seeing you drive the train" is a shot of your hands and the dash. It's be amazing if you could film both at once on a trip and edit them together with the panel in one corner. I appreciate that's a lot more work to do.
Keep them coming Dale please!
Your videos are very interesting thank you!
Thank you for another good video mate, appreciate it! ☺️👍
I wish I was as smooth with the ladies as your stopping technique. 😄
Brilliant thanks
Great video, Dale. Many thanks!
BTW, what does the "D off" sign mean at the end of some of the platforms?
Hi Dale, please never apologise for 'rabbiting on'' - find everything you say absolutely fascinating! I just wish I was maybe 20 years younger as it is definitely a career I would have loved to have done. (just turned 50 so almost certainly too old now :( )
Smashing video!! Keep it up Dale!! :)
London has no idea how good they have it with stuff like the underground. Especially compared with the north.
I love your videos more thank you .
Another enjoyable video, thanks. All jobs get monotonous of course but I imagine one of the pleasures of yours, and for train ops on the other lines with open sections, must be watching the passage of the seasons. Summer evenings such as here may make the surroundings look rather more idyllic than they really are but nonetheless must make for a pleasant working environment. Train ops on the Victoria or Waterloo and City are not so lucky!
Very cool! At Signal A747 ( Around 4:27 )we did get a good view of the mirror and the view you have. I know in previous videos you mentioned the difficulty in getting a good angle for this but I think this worked out well!
Still enjoying the videos. I Got a reallyrandom question. Do you ever have weird dreams where you’re diving a train somewhere it would never go like on a road. I have a sailing boat and this happens to me from time to time. It’s really freaky!
Evening Dale! Hope all is good.... I do enjoy your videos... I need to get back onto the trains some how
Hello Dale, Another great upload
Loved the video. Was most interested in those engineers trains in the depot. Never seen the locos the haul them. Might have a trip along this line next time I'm in London and see if I can spot one.
A quite train that one 👍🏼
Keep up the good work
that spur was used for coal been delivered to the gas works ,using steam locos ,
Hello Dale,🤗 New Subscriber here. I'm really Enjoying your videos.
