Interesting, thanks for your video. I have never built a weathered car so far but was always on my mind to make a forgotten car small diorama. Your lecture will be very helpful for that work. Thanks again 👍🏼👍🏼
I am 52 yrs old and trying to get back into a hobby I havnt done since I was a kid. I stumbled across your videos and I have to say I have learned more about painting watching 3 or 4 of your short little vids than all the other vids Ive watched combined...and thats alot. I appreciate your willingness to share your decades of knowledge with beginners like myself that want to do the best they can at the hobby. Thank you!
thanks for the video. At craft stores they sell oil pastel chalks and pigmented chalks. Both can be used for weathering. Tamiya also makes weathering sets to rub onto models. A bit expensive for just 3 colors or shades per set. I prefer the pigmented chalks. Much cheaper and lots of colors in a set.
I am getting the dvds ASAP.....New subscriber and I am here to stay....im getting back into scale models after a 20 year hiatus, I have been having a blast and learning something new everyday!!!
Damn, it's THAT easy?!?! That is cool as hell man. I have gone as far as buying vajello washes but I haven't used them. I just can't break out of my shell of making cars show room new.🤣🤣🤣👍
Love the chalks, vary forgiving, your right on the dull coat seems to take the realism out. I also build on a HO scale RR and dull coat a few rolling stock, as you said just leave it alone.. have a good one..
Just used pastels on my Dodge Pickup. It was my first attempt and I love the way it came out. Still need more practice but totally worth it to try it!!!
Great discussion, would like to add that "do not over do it ". Also, if you can find fotos or a real vehicle that has all the weathered abuse on it, use it as a reference. Some model contests may have the category "Replica" and that fotos of the real vehicle be submitted. Geography can play an important part on how a vehicle rusts, such as a desert situation it be from the top down or in prairie provinces where winter road salt is used from the bottom up. Observation is key to all this fun. Cheers
One can definitely go too far with weathering. This happens especially with the armor and tank guys. They'll dress up a 1/35 scale WW2 tank and make it look like it was just pulled out of a lake after 70 years or something!
I like watching his videos. But he swings his hands around to much. Can't see anything up close more than a second. Then the camera guy is chasing his hands around all most the entire video. He builds some nice looking cars.
Impressionante!! Trabalho excelente!!👏

Thank you. I've been wanting to learn how to do this
Bill Borgen should be mentioned as the king of weathering! Great stories along with his builds!🤔🇺🇸

Thanks for going over how to weather with the chalk, I’ve never done this.. this truly helps thx again! ~Don
Very helpful techniques. What is your opinion about Tamiya washes and AK Interactive washes and pigments for weathering? Thanks for sharing.
That's amazing work keep up with it
That car looks amazing!
Evert Friday gets a bit better buddy. Thank you.

Thanks for the tip. Have a great weekend.
Great episode...I love Dr Cranky...I have that book.
I would also like to know how you make the bottom of the car. How you fix and varnish so that pigment textures don’t turn into paint.
R.I.P My friends you will be missed
Nice work, gotta ask, I heard You mention Cranberry, PA. Where are You located, I'm in Youngstown, Ohio.
Do you prefer a soft pastel or a firm pastel for doing this?? It looks like something I'm willing to try out.
Both have their place in the shop . You’ll learn by experience which to use in certain applications…..
Thanks very Much sir😊
👍👍👍👍
I would LOVE to find that station wagon, and you destroyed it
I would restore this completely guy

Where do you buy Dr cranky book
I believe Amazon carries it …..
Fix the AC or whatever is making that Noise. Very, Very annoying. Hard to hear, Very distracting.
