      It belongs to a coal mine. 20,000 acres of it is legally rideable with a purchased permit from them. Basically it looks like a shit show everywhere but it’s what we got to ride so we adapted to the rocks over the years.

      @@PennsylvaniaDualSport Still looks like a great place to ride & explore - Totally cool.

    Those dry creek beds with those shail rocks. with the sharp edges can easily slice a tire open. but you made it though unscathed.

      8 years riding in that coal mine. Somehow.. someway. I’ve only ever had one flat.

    Great vid man, got a 14" DR650 myself. This reminds me of a OHV park I went to a couple times in Hazleton, Pa to offroad my toyota 4runner in 01, 02 & 03. I broke some parts there, lol. But it was worth it! If you wanted rock crawling it was there.
    Is this where your at man? Because I remember seeing 4wheelers, etc there too.

      Thank! This isn’t far away from Hazelton. Just south of there near Pottsville is an old coal mine turned off road park called Famous Reading Outdoors. $175 a year over 20,000 acres to ride at multiple tracts of land. Been riding there 6 years and still find new to me stuff to ride. Well worth it. Open 7 days a week sun up to sun down. People come from all over to ride there.

    stock suspension here? Id like to get a Dr650 for next summer. This is probably the roughest terrain id probably take it on besides random off hwy random dirt roads/finding places to camp.

    If you're still around, was this with stock suspension?

    • @PennsylvaniaDualSport
      @PennsylvaniaDualSport  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No sir. At the time of this video I was running fairly stiff springs for my weight. There’s also the Cogent shock as well. I’ve since switched to the proper spring rate for my weight of 175.
      Currently running .52 fork springs 130 air gap and DDC’s along with preload adjusters (which have really helped alot but they won’t work well with the stock progressive springs. You need straight rate springs to really benefit from them).
      Mojave Pro Shock with a 7.6 shock spring

    @ 6:53 when did that cable get there?

    If you went one tooth smaller in front would that make it better in woods?

    • @PennsylvaniaDualSport
      @PennsylvaniaDualSport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I have a gamete of sprockets now. I went up 3 in the back and have 13-16 to pick for the front. I run a 14/45 combo for the woods now

      @@PennsylvaniaDualSport when you run 14/45 whats the top speed you can go on highway comfortably? Just so I know getting to the trails. You have to clutch all day in 1st through tight single track? You ever get into 2nd or 3rd in woods? Just curious before I convert from yz250x to dr650 :) thanks.

    How’s the roll on in the 0-1/8 range? Dies or does The Right Thing(tm)?

    • @PennsylvaniaDualSport
      @PennsylvaniaDualSport  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shit! It’s still muddied up. Mid to top end has a strong pull out that 1/8 is pretty crappy no matter how hot the bike is no matter where the fuel screw is. I can slightly improve it with the fuel screw but then when the bike cools slightly say while eating lunch it’s crappier still. I’m taking it to a carb tuner I don’t have time to mess with it during the week.

    How is the stabilizer on the roots?

    • @PennsylvaniaDualSport
      @PennsylvaniaDualSport  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kick ass! Even when your ripping on the haul road there’s little to no deflection on the rocks. I think I had it on #5. I think any bike we have should have one. I’m impressed

    How many psi do you run your tires ?

    • @PennsylvaniaDualSport
      @PennsylvaniaDualSport  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends on the tire structure really. If it has a stiff sidewall (like a motoz) I’ve gone down to 6-7 rear. Usually around 10 for most rear tires though. Front almost always 12 psi for trail.
      Rim locks of course

      That’s all I use no matter the camera. Make sure the gear icon is selected at 1080p. After that I don’t know what to tell you
