I love the Japanese sets even though I don't open them. I wish they would mix the English and Japanese sets from time to time. Would love to pull an English reverse pokeball.

I have a 151 box sealed,here is my theory,since this set has the original 151 pokemon in it,then it should have the price of a base set booster box in 20 or so years.But hey,it's just a theory,a pokemon theory!
I almost bought a box of japanese 151 from my LCS, was marked above $200 but had a 20% off to bring it down to $180. Discord said it was too high at the time which was Black Friday. But I think it's still there. But English 151 been hot lately. I've done two poster boxes and and Alakazam box and got 3 SIRs. Two charizards and one Giovanni's Charisma.
Definitely need to open another box of these for redemption and testing purposes! Love that alakazam and i Definitely have the same kitchen from my 2 regrats 🤣
Japanese 151 is already dummy expensive... but like you said, it's all about what masterball you find that will make it or break it, and with factor alone, this set will only go up
151 is the one that got me into Pokémon cards. Nostalgia. I couldn't afford the cards when it came out and now I can finally just collect the Pokémon cards of the original line up.
Good thinking man. Ive already completed the master set in English including every promo. Basically every English 151 card there is and have it in a very nice special binder that even has extra protection every 10 pages. And it’s even in a case itself. Also have me about 4 Jp sealed booster boxes 5 PKcenter etbs 5 regular etbs 2 sealed cases of mini tins 4 upc boxes about 9 poster boxes 9 alakazam boxes 7 binder boxes and 5 zapdos boxes all sealed. Only product I couldn’t get my hands on at a good price as of yet is a sealed booster bundle case. I have a few sealed booster bundles but I want the sealed case of 10. Atleast 1 box. But I’ve paid msrp or retail for basically every product if not less except for the jp boxes. I paid 175 for those. But imo a good investment when I can grab more I will as long as I can still get them from my guy at the same price that is. Good luck with yours man. If u can find more grab them if the price is right.

Japanese 151 is a set i was reluctant to buy and save. Still not sure as it has been printed like crazy, but a beautiful set nonetheless. Masterball reverse was such an awesome concept that i wish they introduced something similar in english.

I was trying to finish my English 151 master set before buying into the Japanese version but I am stuck at 5 cards I can’t find. 1 being the reverse Starmie (like seriously!) The others I understand are hard to pull (Squirtle, Wartortle, Alakazam and Venusaur) but I want to say I pulled them all. Becoming a very costly endeavor lol. I think you should open maybe 4 booster boxes(from the same case if possible) in the next video and compare them. I feel like a god pack is in your future as redemption for the previous boxes. Excited. i dont own any japanese and have considered purchasing some 151 knowing it will probably skyrocket in the future. Not sure though! zero buying power at the moment so not sure if it is worth the risk.
Pokémon 151 is an awesome set. I’m working on the Scarlett and Violet 151 master now but would love to get the Japanese version completed in the future as well.

Bro, test it again... and again... and again. This is the absolute greatest set of all time. I have almost completed a master set, including master balls, and have several sealed boosters. I think it's going to be HUGE down the road. Such an awesome set.
I think we are at the point with Japanese 151 that you lose money by opening. You get a SR or SAR, 3 AR, and a Master Ball Reverse in every box. The chance of getting a SAR that makes opening profitable is slim. Also, there is a reverse holo for every card in the set not in the SR/AR/SAR pool. So the odds of getting a Pikachu/Erika/Eevee kind of master ball reverse is also slim. This box will be worth a ton in the future just for the Charizard EX SAR chance alone. I'd keep them sealed.
I love opening Japanese but it typically gets me a SR that isn’t that great and I lose a lot of money. But still fun especially if you get a double banger box.
Idk about 151 but I have a booster box of the Japanese equivalent to Cosmic eclipse, I have never opened it but I am not sure if I should keep it sealed or not. Plus I have some Japanese Evolving skies, its not a booster box but more like a box set with some packs in it. Keep it sealed or opened it?

Anything commemorative or product with the original 151 pokemon will always sell well. I wish i had a cp6 booster box. Its the 20th anniversary Japanese commemorative set with the original pokemon and cards. Its a winner. I remember wanting one when they were like $250. Theyre more than 2k, now.

Eeek with that masterball road lol but that Alakazam is bomb, one I'm still needing. I love this set but it's just so random from my experience. My first box had the masterbal Pikachu and Erkia's Invitation and I was so hyped I went out to get 2 more boxes. Those 2 were alright in comparison haha so my first box definitely paid for the rest. I think you should definitely open more of it to compare for yourself. If these boxes weren't climbing so fast in price I'd buy more but seems the way to go to get my master set is to slowly buy singles.
This is my favorite set and what you just ran into was 60% of the boxes….. this set will sky rocket in the future like Evo Skies, Cosmic, etc. I am torn on if I want to open more or save…..😢
I just opened 40 packs (20 individual packs and 1 box) and I pulled an Erika SAR, Charizard EX SR, Squirtle AR, Ivysaur AR x2 and a Venusaur EX SAR. I don’t know what to do now
I agree that the demand for japanese 151 set will go on long-term. It's definitely a beautiful set. I love the reverse pokeball cards, regardless if they're not the masterball reverse cards. Yes, you should definitely test this theory again! I'd watch that!

Its seriously too fire to not pay off down the road if you don’t rip instant value, which can be done. The pull rates are kind of harsh for the super bangers of course, which just makes it more collectible. Its a win win for me and I think u right mayne, 3-5 yrs 📈

I'd guess just like any set the average expected value from pulls is significantly less than the cost of the box. I agree that this product is going to age very well if kept sealed
Hey Sean, I'm lucky I bought a few boxes from Japan via buyee when prices were lower at initial release and have recently been scooping up the singles to complete he master set (except for the masterballs and some reverses) . Current price per box is.pretty insane. Not sure if it's a money glitch but at least you're guaranteed something of value unlike evolving skies 😂
Love the Japanese 151. I actually need that Masterball for my collection. IMO, it only appears to be a money glitch if you're getting graded at 10's on the big cards.

I was very fortunate enough to get a booster box of this,clayburst and one other one on Japan PC. Shipped to me was about $100 still. I entered the lottery for the most recent two that were announced last week. Will see if I get lucky.
Given the right pulls in a box could be a nice money glitch as was said, I haven't picked up any Japanese since base sets way back in the day, best pull original Japanese Lugia.
When I learned that English wasn't getting a Master ball reverse, I was disappointed. But I do think that there is an appeal to it being exclusive to the Japanese set

a lot of card prices are still pretty high so while the box itself is not high it’s a nice pickup for a fun open

I had one of these earlier this month. Got a master ball Psyduck, which is still going for 38 dollars raw. It was a good day.

Didnt open any of the japanese, but ive completed the english master set + have a Pokemon Center ETB & UPC to hold onto sealed for the future.

I was happy to pick one up from PC Japan for retail price. Me and my wife enjoyed opening it. Pulls were ok but worth it for sure.

I think the only thing keeping Japanese 151 from not being just a total loss to open is the masterball cards. Very unique and they’re only in this set
