In this robot, there are some rotating joints between each other. If one of the part running 360 degrees is to overlap to the other part as simulation running, will Catia show up the "swept interference" between the two parts. How does Catia handle the interference checking when the simulation is running if it has?

I have a problem with my Catia V5 R19 i currently work on assembly and simulation of a 4 axes robot, the parts are modelled and download as (.CATpart). the problem is, when i wants to open the parts on my computer an error poster : "impossible opening.; the application; is not same level as the file" how can i resolve the problem ? and open the files in CATIA V5 thinks before
Hamza Lahbiri Seems to me, the files have been created and saved in Catia Version with a higher release number, or maybe with a higher servicepack. This would cause such an error message.

But you need at least one driving joint otherwise you can not simulate.

I used Catia as my first 3D program,I am currently using Modo for complex designs but Catia has a separate place in for me. :)
I think Modo and similar programs are very good for design, catia is meant for construction.
I agree the same.Catia is more suitable for industrial design,Modo for the concept design
Hi, yes you need at least on driving constraint/joint - sort of "engine" - otherwise you can not simulate.

So for multiple-DOF simulation you need to define a DOF whenever you introduce a new component right ?

Hi, yes you can. Look for "Clash Detection" and "Swept Volume". You can stop on Collision as well.
