I agree, there are many ways to hold and move the pencil. Gesture drawings are best with a loose pencil grip and the motion of the whole arm (including the shoulders). To draw a long line, it's best to have a medium grip pivoting from the elbow (throwing the line away from you) and a short line can be similarly flicked from the wrist. And, as you said, tight grips work are best for precise detail work. My point is that the whole arm should be involved in drawing, not just the wrist and fingers. Great Video!

I got two questions
How do you sharpen your pencils?
What kinda paper do you use?

I use a pocket knife to sharpen them, I use the recycled wood pencils because the wood is softer, and for paper this was just a regular sketchbook, but for finished work I use bristol board
