10:56 Ryan says “you got this Haley” RIGHT when Haley was explaining how hard it was. The support bro, that was just the sweetest thing, made me wanna cry. You guys are so so precious, proud of you Haley!!!!!!!!
Well done Hailey!! I’m a marathon runner and it’s the best thing in the world. You did so good 🥰 shame the course was so disorganised! Definitely do a road race with lots of crowds if you do it again, the atmosphere is incredible 💓
So proud of you Haley, for running the whole half marathon. If it had been me I would have just gone for that finish line, but you held yourself to the full standard!
I actually ran this race with you and was in front of you in the blue shorts when we were stuck running in a line! How neat! I somehow got mixed up and had to run 15 miles instead of 13 so this video makes me want to cry watching it back!😅 great job!! This was a TOUGH race
I’m not even sure why but this made me a bit emotional haha it’s so nice to have your people show up and show out for you even if it’s just for an activity or hobby you’re enjoying!! Congratulations!! You did so well for something very new to you!! 🥰
I’m not even a runner or anything and this had me smiling so wide the whole time. I’d LOVE to be able to run but I’ve never done it before so I don’t really know how to start. This makes me REALLY want to try though so fr if people have tips for someone that does zero exercise I’d love to hear them
Start with alternating jogging and walking a few times a week. Try to slowly increase the amount of time you jog vs walk. Eventually you'll be able to jog continuously :)
Best decision for me was to find a 5k about 8 weeks away to have a goal. I started barely able to jog for a minute at a time and was able to run the whole 5k by the end of it. Think about a pre made plan like a couch to 5k to remove the hurdle of figuring it out yourself. And then, particularly for me as a fat person, proper professionally fitted running shoes were a game changer so if you can afford them, consider that after you’ve figured out whether you think you can stand running for a while (in your life, not at a time). Hope this helps!
I am so glad you’re getting into it!!! I finished my 85th marathon earlier this year, and it NEVER gets easier- but it is ALWAYS as fun! So happy for you!! You rock!
When did I get so emotional. Why did I get so emotional watching this? So proud of you Haley, and so much love for Ryan for staying with you during the run! I always wanted to run a marathon, but since my knee dislocation in 2018, its just too risky for me. ): So I really love seeing these videos, its so inspiring!
im so impressed by this. You are amazing! I can't believe the commitment and the preparation that goes into this. I've only ever ran 4 miles at most, and that was once in my life, so to see you do this is blowing my mind. Makes me want to sign up for a half-marathon myself. I've always been curious, about marathons but didn't know the kind of preparation one should do. You are so cool Haley, seriously. Please create a video where you talk more about the experience and how you feel now that you've accomplished this
Congratulations!! This is so inspiring. I’ve tried to run races before and it can always be demotivating when everyone else is going fast and I keep comparing myself. Thank you for shining a different perspective!! Very refreshing that just finishing is an accomplishment.
Try to remind yourself that a run is all about you being in nature, enjoying the outside, and breathing in fresh air! There is no need for any pressure when running
There’s nothing like finishing your first marathon! Ran mine in Feb 2020 and while I was happy to have finished, it’s def a one time race for me lol. I love half marathons and under since the training isn’t as intense. Congratulations!!!
Good for you girl that is AMAZING and way too work around the unpredicted things during your race! You’re very inspirational with your strength and positivity!!
I can't believe your first half marathon was also a trail run!! I hope you try a regular road HM at some point! For what it's worth, if you keep doing the 10-11mile long runs, and cool down and stretch after, you won't feel bad. It's only the first few that make you feel like that. Congrats though!
Good job Haley! You and Ryan inspired me to join my high school's cross country team and so far today I ran in my first invitational and I did pretty good, I need some work though, but this is the start of my running career!
I was a dancer and I am now trying to be a runner, and I agree it's completely different training. I'm doing my first 10k next week! Congrats on your half marathon!
Haley! I just wanted to express how freaking inspiring you are. I love doing little trail runs for fun but could NOT imagine a half-marathon and could SERIOUSLY NOT imagine doing it in Hokas. I actually sprained my ankle once trail-running in a similar shoe. Your dedication is impressive and I admire how you put your mind to it even though running is so different from dancing. I'm so excited to see where this running journey takes you girly!!!!!!!! congrats congrats congrats you kick butt!
Congratulations!!!! Loved seeing your husband's support. It's my dream to do a Disney half marathon but I have very little running experience so this was motivational for me.
Haley! You did it! As a dancer myself, I never have accomplished what you have. What an achievement! How awesome is it that Ryan was there with you that whole time. Ya’ll make me smile. Get outtaaa hereeeee!
Congrats! Fun fact a lot of Hokas are made so that they correct your ankle if you roll it, I think there's a trail version! Also you're legit my fav, you do videos about everything I love and they're so entertaining! This made my day! Gotta go work 8.5 hrs now!
no way finally to someone i can relate to,i was a dancer for hiphop for 5 years and for the past 6 months i have been going to track as an ex-dancer running was sooo much harden than i thought so i can def relate.Love you’re content ❤
I have taken and/or taught dance since I was 7. I’m currently training for a 10k. I live in Arkansas and my training calls for 1,500 meters uphill. Tomorrow is my first 5 miles. I reward myself every month if runs since I started 5k training. I LOVE my Hoka Cliftons!I count down every time. I use the Run for God program and plan to continue to a marathon. I’m a slow runner for sure, but I’m mind-blown at what God has shown me my body is capable of. Congratulations!
Bro i am so happy when haley posts one vid on her vlog channel and one vid on her main channel it literally makes my day✓{im her fan} Queen of booktok 👇 who agrees
Hey Haley! I was watching this because this winter break I got encouraged to run 2 miles every day. I wanted to do this because in my PE class a girl beat my PR of 7:30 (I’m in 7th grade) and I got really sad so I’m glad I had this to follow!
That's pretty incredible! I remember training for a 10 mile race and having to back out one week before due to horrid plantar fasciitis. The training process was so amazing. I became a runner for a short part of my life. I'll never forget that. Way to go Haley!
congratulations Haley you did so good this is giving me the motivation to train myself! we appreciate Ryan running along qith you as well! onto the next!
I mean, he was a D1 runner and probably has been running since then and with just 2 weeks off is not actually bad but it is impressive that he is running on a broken pinky and still healing lol He is a professional runner!
@@ceceria860 yes totally agree but running with a broken pinky on a trail is not easy. And you definitely still feel it when you take 2 weeks off so it’s still a challenge and not everyone would casually run a half to support their partner
Im so proud of you! Im sorry the road was so bumpy and i felt like i was standing on egg shells hoping you would not roll your ankle or fall! Again great job!❤
can you do a "running for beginners guide" - with recommendations and tips on how to get started!! would love to hear your insight, you're so inspiring!
Woowww i kept smiling all the video , I'm so happy for you ,we really appreciate your husbant support ,may good bless you twooo It really showed us that consistency is the key to do anything you want Congrats haley🎉🎉🎉🎉
This is so amazing!!! You should be so proud! Congrats on not only keeping up your training program but also holding yourself to the 13.1 miles!!! Great video! Also shoutout to Ryan for running it with you and being so supportive!!
Well done, I have never ran this much before, but keep go8ng with runs every morning. I do school so I don’t have much time in the morning, so I run 2 miles each day on the weekend. Your videos are always inspiring.
ok i give her kudos!!! as long distance runner in track and field, along with xc (xc is cross country); she did good!!! i'm proud of her!!! although if you do this again, please use runner shoes; and not the ones your using!!
You have to read the Richard castle series: Heat, I think there are 7 books or so. Heat wave, naked heat, deadly heat etc. It is a crime serie and amazing to read. ❤
Oaky 2nd comment- huge props for running this race and finishing. Trail running is a different beast and the fact you did it in hokas and then ran circles at the end to hit your mark 👏👏
haley this is awesome! just a little piece of advice, take your jacket off before you start running so that you won’t have to carry it with you. i know you’ll be cold at the start but running warms you up quickly. you did amazing!
CONGRATS HALEY!!! such a big accomplishment!! highly recommend doing a road race, they are so fun and I feel like you would enjoy it more! Congrats again!
I just love Haley and she always motivates me to read and I am thinking about starting my own Booktube channel just because of her, Destiny and Sara!!!
Would love to see Haley do more Michelle Khare type videos, but more relatable to us, (aka some who hasn’t moved from the couch reading their favourite book series😂😅❤)
Every time I watch your videos, I always think about the time I did Adrenaline Crew with you and Lean Nowell. It actually makes me laugh. I love seeing where all the dancers end up!

Key thing of running is building mental strength because once you get the thought you can't do it anymore it will become 100 times harder
i'm crying!!! so proud of you , but even proud of how good ryan is to you. what a sweet man.
This is so motivating! Well done Haley👏🏾. Also Ryan best husband award🏆
Every time you post, it makes my day! You are so inspiring. Keep running! ❤❤❤
