    Magnificent playing! I feel like that violin is quite small, does anyone else see it? It has a lovely rich sound nonetheless, I wonder who its maker is.

      it's a guarneri del gesu

    • @MoongK0000

      @@roylin3490 R u 100% sure? He may have a Guarneri now but that violin in 2016 was a Guarneri Del Gesu?
      * I just searched it after my comment - He has 2017 Sam Zygmuntowicz and 1683 “ex-Gingold” Stradivarius. That violin still does not look like a GDG

    • @roylin3490
      @roylin3490 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MoongK0000 Actually i forgot why I comment that. But it's definitely not the Gingold or the Zygmuntowicz cuz he got those after winning the Indianapolis. And I just looked at the violin again, I don't think it's a DGD either. I guess the moral of the story is you can't trust anything on the internet.

      I think if you look in scale to his body it’s rly not the small. He just has longer arms and a bigger head proportionality

    You play wonderfully. You have to work on your presentation, i.e., control your facial expressions. I'm not being mean - we all have a tendency to contort our facial expressions when we play. Try to temper it - be more impassive above the neck. That doesn't mean that you can't enjoy yourself. You'll get used to it. Have you ever watched Vadim Repin? I love his playing, but he looks like he's getting sick when he plays. watch performers like Heifetz, Menuhin, Francescatti, Ricci, Stern. People tend to concentrate on your wonderful violin playing more if they're not distracted by grimacing. I know - it doesn't sound like constructive criticism, but it is. It can sway judges to judge your appearance rather than your play. I hope it's not all wasted and you become a surgeon. You produce one of the most pleasing tones I've ever heard - and I mean even among the past greats.

      Facial expression, or the lack thereof, depends purely on the individual's personality, or disposition. Manually inserting or taking away stuff like that will actually diminish the quality of the perfomance.
