  • First impressions of the infamous Grey Flannel cologne by Geoffrey Beene! A cheapie from 1975 (or '76?) Is it the sharp chemical blast it's often described as? Does it smell like your grandfather's soap? You shall see. Thanks for watching, have a great day and smell good!

Absolutely love this. if you have spent your time in farm you would love opening note as well. Opening smells of Neem and grass or bitter smelling leaves/herbs.

I use grey flannel as a layer underneath bluer fragrances and sometimes amber/woody. It’s fantastic to add those harsh florals in with the richer warmer tones!

Three years late, but glad you enjoy it! I'll have to get my nose on this again sometime.

Some reviewers crucified this one when in fact it is a beautiful fragrance.

I can see that to a degree, because I think the opening is very harsh and not mass-appealing. I think the dry down is really beautiful.

This is a very very powerful fragrance. It was hard for me to wrap my mind around. I thought my wife would hate it but she really likes it. I have no idea if I will wear this. Subbed

Thanks for subbing. It is very powerful and off-putting at first, but it does become a bit more pleasant as it goes on.

If you wound up not liking the dry-down, try layering it under a blue or amber/wood fragrance. You’ll get the added benefit of the harsh masculine florals of Grey Flannel without the nose burn lol

Lots of violet and why you think (or ever thought) this award winning GB fragrance “sucks” is beyond me.

I think why people hated this cologne is because people would over spray the crap out of the cologne. I personally dont like it. But I remember people smelling like they swam on the damn thing.

I'm not the biggest fan either, but you're right. I personally only use one spray now on the rare occasions I use this.

Thanks, mate. I can understand that, it has a bit of a weird vibe I can see a lot of people not liking. Thanks for watching.

I know there are some people who hate this one, I don’t, but it’s nothing interesting or special. Be good to see you do a video on fragrances you really can’t stand :)

Miles Fane That’s a good idea; maybe I’ll do that! Yeah, Grey Flannel is nothing special, but I think it smells good!
