Rewatching season 1 and 2 has made me realise that Eloise was never really that much of a friend to Pen (not that it excuses any of her actions, just some observations). Both her and Colin tend to use Pen as a sounding board and never really engage her about her life. It’s never a “how is life back home, Pen?”, always a Lady Whistledown this, Lady Whistledown that, Theo this, Theo that from Eloise and my travels this, my travels that, and a bunch of philosophical musings from Colin. It made me not like them both as much in season 2, very much self-centred behaviour.
yes, Eloise never really paid attention to pen it was more so her talking and pen listening and then one time she heard pen she figured she was lady wistledown...
I have been on both sides of these types of friendships. Where I would always listen more to one friend or I would have one friendship where I do all the talking. Truth be told, I don't think Pen bothered to talk about herself in those conversations because she likes to listen like her personality of Lady whistledown. If she really felt bad about it, she could literally just participate it in the conversation and talk about herself. I don't think eloise or Colin should be held accountable for the way Pen carries herself.
@@yousmelllikeabaka584 I have thought about this too, but what really disproves this for me is seeing them both walk away from her as soon as they feel the conversation is done. In those scenes, you can see her actively opening her mouth, as if she wanted to continue the conversation, but they are oblivious to this and walk away instead. Additionally, Eloise saying “I’ve never really listened” during the whole Lady Whistledown fight reveals that she in fact did speak like LW, but El never really paid any mind to her. There is literally a scene in season 2 where Pen says word for word to El what she later writes down in the Lady Whistledown issue, if Eloise paid the slightest bit attention to whatever Pen said, she would’ve known then that LW was Pen. The scene literally cuts to Mr Finch laughing at the exact same plant pun in the latest LW issue she made word for word to Eloise the day before to show us that El never pays attention. If Colin had paid attention to how Pen says what she says during the “what a barb” scene, he would’ve noticed that the speech patterns of LW are very similar to Pen’s speech patterns in that scene.
Penelope wears yellow because Lady Featherington thinks yellow is a happy colour and therefore will attract suitors. In the book, Lady Featherington has given up on Penelope finding a suitor, so she allows Penelope to buy her own dresses. That’s why she will not wear yellow in season 3.
i totally get why Pen is so down bad for Colin from the get go in this first season. He and Eloise are the only ones who treat her with any kindness that she interacts with on a consistent basis. He definitely messed up at the end of season 2 badly, and i can't wait to see him tortured by his feelings for penelope. for me, a heartfelt apology is all that's needed for me to forgive him, but i still want to see him suffer in more of a yearning/pining way than in a "he needs to redeem himself" way. just bc it feels fair bc we saw pen do it for two seasons. it's his turn now. lol you cut it from your reaction, but my favorite bit of foreshadowing in season 1 in when anthony says when talking to daphne and violet, "they danced a few times together at a ball, colin has done the same with penelope featherington." i'm super curious to see if anthony will catch on quick that there's something going on with colin and pen, or if he'll be super shocked. lol.
I think marina is so valid for lying at first when she didn’t know of pens feelings (even tho it was so obvious) but once she found out how deeply pen feels for Colin she should’ve stopped. And then she keeps saying the reason she wants Colin is cause he’s kind and nice, and then she hates on Philip even tho he is very similar to Colin. And then she decided to trick Colin like girl didn’t u see he’s so kind why didn’t u tell him then ( he legit says that if she told him he would’ve married her). Also in the second season marina being absolutely straight up rude to Philip annoyed me so much , cause he’s trying to be good with her and the children (aka. His nephews)
Yeah, it’s a sticky situation with lots of shades of grey BUT hey, we know she had to do what she had to do. It’s just the knowledge that she tried to backtrack from marrying to protect herself to saying she wants to marry for love when Phillip made her his offer… like it’s just messy but that’s Bridgerton 😂
I haven't read the book but from the tidbits I got it does seem like Phillip is not like Colin at all. He is very troubled and didn't come from a happy background like Colin. I cannot wait to learn more about him though!
I am a marina HATER and nothing can make me feel otherwise, she literally comes to town cause her father sent her away knowing she was pregnant but hoping she wasn’t (her not bleeding for another month at the featherington house confirmed it which is why she was so angry) not only was she sleeping around when she wasn’t suppose to, she was gonna baby trap another man? there’s nothing that can justify her actions. She deserve what she got and by the grace of GOD sir Philip crane came around and saved her ass. Then you realize the man you was gonna lie to for the rest of your life is the love of your cousins life and you tell her that it’s no point in liking him cause i’m finna lock him down in a fake ass relationship? its big FAWK marina! all around a bop and a liar
Pen has suffered what most girls have, seeing a guy just be nice and friendly to you and falling for that 😭I'm just happy that Pen will be able to prove to Marina she was wrong all along, true emotion and affection can do a lot to bring people closer
One of the things I love about Bridgerton is that the women are not perfect, they make mistakes, from misguided to pretty bad. Daphne, Marina, Penelope, Violet, Eloise, Kate, Edwina, Mary, Portia, all of them make questionable choices at some point, but we as the audience can see why they feel they need to do it, even if we don't necessarily agree.
@@demontrash Exactly. Also, people judging them sometimes seem to forget that all of us have flaws and make mistakes. I don't think what these characters do in the story makes them unworthy of being given a second chance, of being loved.

If anything, Charlotte would've gone down the same route had she not called on Lady Danbury for a tea session. That event alone saved her grief and lack of satisfaction when George finally came over for nuptials

The Bridgerton's do idealize their parent's marriage & it effects them differently. Seeing the difference between Eloise & Pen is interesting. The Bridgerton's are a well respected & loving family. Anthony is the Viscount & he (or any of his other brothers) would support Eloise if push comes to shove. Eloise grew up hearing about her parents great love for each other & Daphne has succeeded at that as well.
I love how in sync yall were in the very beginning when Antony was shirtless on scene, "I'm fuckin' locked in". That point to the scene and editing was *chef's kiss*

As we know, Daphne takes control of this scene and sits on top of Simon trying to figure out if he is lying or not about being able to give her children. When Simon is close to finishing he realizes what Daphne is doing and tries to stop her. He specifically says wait two times trying to stop her but Daphne does not listen and continues, forcing Simon to finish inside her. Simon takes his consent away so what Daphne did is rape and I'm tired of people saying that its not.
Both were pretty terrible to each other. People forget that taking advantage of someone’s lack of knowledge can also fall under 🍇, so by virtue, Simon also 🍇 Daphne. And before someone corrects me, I literally had to learn these laws for my exams (I’m a med student) so at least in my country, what Simon does to Daphne can also be considered 🍇, because not only did she not know that that was how you get pregnant and Simon knew this, but Simon also knew that she wasn’t fully aware of the mechanics of it too. They were both awful to each other for me, that’s why I skip their season

This is definitely a valid comment! We do see in that situation how both parties were deeply in the wrong. Simon weaponized Daphne’s ignorance and took advantage of her, and it’s true, in the moment, Simon withdrew his consent. They did something absolutely dark and awful to each other.
While I agree with all your points I also have to say. The girl didn’t know what sex was or how baby’s are conceived she definitely doesn’t understand consent
This rewatch reminded me why I didn't like season 1. I found almost every character unbearable, especially Eloise, Daphne and the Duke. I had decided to not continue the series, but the final reveal about Lady Whistledown made me change my mind 'cause I adore Penelope. And I liked season 2 a lot more so I'm glad I gave it another chance. So excited for season 3!!!
All the characters are flawed and grow. I found Anthony so irritating yet loveable in both season and Daphne at least on season 2 I enjoyed her tipping Anthony to shreds
I don’t know why it took me so long to see the parallel of Daphne and Simon making the deal to fake court in the garden vs when Daphne and Simon make out in the garden and get caught!
kind of book spoiler..... one of the younger Bridgertons (Gregory or Hyacinth) marries a grandchild (or some descendant) of Lady Danbury Yes, each Bridgerton child gets a book (and hopefully their own seasons). The order for the books is Daphne, Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory & Hyacinth. However, because they revealed Penelope's Lady Whistledown identity so soon in the show, they are doing the Polin season first. I'm curious as to how they'll do Eloise's story because her love interest from S2 Theo Sharpe wasn't in the books.... but her canon future husband's character was explored more as well... The Bridgerton story I'm most looking forward to is Francesca's because (MAJOR SPOILER), her's starts out with her becoming a widow. So I'm looking forward to seeing the beginning/set up of her story happen in the background of seasons 3-5
From what I heard of Eloise’s story, I wonder if they’ll make a new love interest or something, given that her book love-interest was a widower of her distance cousin, when in the show she isn’t Eloise’s cousin anymore. Maybe Theo will actually make a comeback? Or her book love interest will have a more prominent role in the following seasons? Or maybe they’ll scrap her romance altogether and have her actually make her way in the world as a successful single woman
@@MarcyStevonshy I genuinely hope they'll keep her book live interest, both because it's such a big change for a story specifically centered on the romance but also because I'm highly interested in seeing how they'd do it.
@MarcyStevonshy My bet is they'll keep her love interest because the upper class- working class trope already belongs to Benedict's story, and her and Theo would be a repeat of that. But I think they will change their story a LOT. Book Eloise and Show Eloise are two completely different entities (and tbh, I prefer book Eloise). They made her more of a hard-core feminist in the show, since in the books she isn't against the ideia of marriage at all, she simply is very picky and doesn't care about becoming a spinster until she finds the right person for her. She also isn't judgmental of her sisters for having different dreams, neither is so self-centered. They'll either have to completely change Philip as a character or have Eloise grow up a ton until her turn for them to work.
@blurrylinesx8039 I had the thought that, since they've already switched the order for Benedict and Colin's stories, they could possibly switch Eloise and Francesca's stories. Because, based on one of the sneak peak videos released for s3, we know her debut is s3 and I can only assume she'll be married her first season on the marriage market (she's a Brigerton, beautiful and accomplished). Her marriage and impending widow hood could unfold in the background of Benedict's season (4), Francesca's story post becoming a widow could be s5, and then Eloise s6. Plus it would allow Eloise more time to be considered a spinster and, as you said, mature
I don’t support colin hate, he only did wrong with “I would never cort penelope”. In general, he’s a good boy and really treated her like a friend) But it also doesn’t mean I don’t want to see him earning🤭
My problem is Penelope has the power of the written word. And she seems to be reckless with that power. She could have told Collin directly/discreetly that Marina was pregnant if she wanted to save him from a scam of a marriage. Instead she told the whole Ton. I believe her choice in doing so directly leads to Marina taking extreme/dangerous methods to force an abortion. When reputation is everything in this time/this culture, people have been known to commit suicide. It feels like Penelope doesn't have consideration/remorse for this as she continues to write. Even throwing Eloise under the bus in season two. But the audience is suppose to root for her and fuss at Collin for his comment because she the wallflower that nobody notices, how sad. Maybe it's me, I don't like gossip culture. But I feel like there should be some fallout/repercussions for Penelope and amends to be made on her part.
Very very slight eloise book spoilers. Yeah, about Eloise's book. Pretty much EVERYONE in the fandom hates her book... So I'm going to be really interested to see how they adapt it in the show because they are going to have to change like the majority of what happens. Her husband is a very trash individual and thats putting it nicely... It's going to be really hard to make him likeable and make their love feel actually real cuz in the book... it doesn't, from what reviewers of the book series have said here on TH-cam. So Eloises season will be a season that I will be 1000% okay with them not being true to the source material. That would be truly wonderful. Lmao
Actually I liked the book and I like Sir Philipp. You always have to consider that this was the past, not 2024. Also what is the history of this person, what has he/she been through in life, what experiences did they have that made them into the person they are. Nobody is perfect, we all make mistakes, that we possibly regret. I kind of understand where Sir Philipp came from, and why he behaves the way he does. Actually, he is a good man, but unfortunately, because of his experiences (especially in childhood), he can not always show it. Read the books over 15 years ago and have reread them several times. Liked all of them. While reading comments, many don't like Philipp/Colin/Anthony, but many do. I think Eloise and Philipp compliment each other. I don't hate anyone of the characters, because in the end, they are fiction.

Cuz I've talked to like dozens and dozens of people on Twitter and other social medias and we all fucking hate him so 🤷♀️ you can have a bad horrible childhood like he has and NOT perpetuate the cycle of abuse (and yes that did happen even back during those times when therapy was not a thing that people did. People WERE still able to break the cycle of abuse)...he doesn't do that. It's an explanation for his actions but you shouldn't use it as an excuse for his fucking horrendous behaviour. And in my, and others, opinion his behaviour is inexcusable and borderline unforgivable. He's a walking red flag stand and Eloise should have gotten the fuck away from him but as it is something based in the past she literally CAN'T so... it's just really fucking sad. She deserves better. You're totally free to like the book if you want to... but it is an unpopular opinion within the current day fandom of the books.
@@AnxietyRat No problem, everyone has their own opinion, I respect that. But I have been reading a lot of comments these past years, and I am definately not the only one. I read the book several times, he did in the end break the cycle of abuse. I may be wrong, but many who hate a specific character are rather young, and at that age, I may have seen things similiar. Now I'm almost 60 and see things a bit different. Not that I say any kind of abuse is OK, of course not, but I look at the context, and there are people who deserve a second chance, because not everyone who does something bad is per se a bad person. I had a difficult father, that did have an impact on my life. But I have made peace with it, I don't hate.
I actually liked her book. Though much like s2 and for what I am seeing of s3 they are definitely going to tweak things around so might help those who didn’t like her book as much lol tho I really doubt they will change the pairs of the Bridgertons considering that’s basically the adaptation 😂

I mean, it makes sense to me that she'd be more attached to Simon than her actual kids. I think Queen Charlotte humorized (disgustingly) her relationship with her broomer, and her kids must remind her of him
17:28 Yea, the ending of this episode is my favorite scene in the entire series. It is easily the most 'magical' moment imo. I think when they made season 1, everyone was excited and they sold the ending to the first episode wonderfully. Definitely gets you hooked into the show right away.
The fact that everyone gets so HOT 😤 over Colin’s bs shenanigans in season 1 and 2 just proves that they are INVESTED. I have full faith that season 3 will deliver.
While the Demons are keeping an eye on Colin, I'm watching Lady Whistledown... Pen's behavior through LW in S2 is sometimes only palatable to because of Julie Andrew's superb narration. Especially what she does to Eloise.
What she does to Eloíse is ultimately a very layered situation, I agree she didn’t handle it in the best way. She should have pet Eloíse know but what she upykwtpeu did is going to have very little impact on el as we will see in season 3. If was minor especially for a bridgeton, but she should have told Eloíse and they would have likely decided to do the same thing but Eloíse wouldn’t have been blindsided

I don’t think Simon was bitter and grumpy. Because of his trauma he is hardwired to think that love doesn’t matter. Simon genuinely doesn’t think he’s capable of being loved or properly loving someone else. That is unfortunately how his brain operates and it’s actually very depressing. It’s not something you just “get over” but people repeatedly get upset at him all throughout this season because “be a man and get over it.”
I read historical romance novels before bridgerton and only learned that viscount is not pronounced like “discount” lol which is what I have been reading it as in my head
Aside from a deathbed promise to your deadbeat dad to never be happy being stupid, knowing the context of the minority gentry from Queen Charlotte, it is super petty of the Duke to throw away that title considering the history. It would go to SOMEONE no matter what- a cousin, illegitimate kid, etc. someone would get it. What a dumb promise.
rewatching season one made me realize that the first season's storyline was WAY more interesting and the only thing that made season 2 feel like it was superior was Simone and Jonathan's chemistry (don't get me wrong I still prefer season 2 though)
I LOVE ❤️ Babydemon’s fierce loyalty & defending of Penelope. I would love if you wore top hats 🎩 like Lady Danbury for the Season 3 watching… & waved Lady Danbury walking canes around whenever Penelope triumphs/is slighted/is in trouble. I still don’t get why they revealed LW in this 1st season. In the books you don’t know who it is until book 4(Polin’s story) and is a great point of tension
I know people are excited about Polin because of season 3, but I don’t get all of the hate. Some say he was abusive in book 4, but I didn’t see it that way. He was whiny and jealous and quinn, don’t write characters wanting to shake someone, even for comedy. Just don’t. Show and book wise, you can see the love Penelope and Colin have for each other, even as friends. They will always protect each other through everything. LW is ruthless. I get that, but she always reports the truth. Do I always agree how she goes about it? No. But she does it to protect people. Colin said a couple of stupid things, But hate how they treat Penelope and Colin like they are evil incarnate when they are not. Penelope wanted to quit and literally broke her quill when she wrote about Eloise. She cried in Eloise’s arms when she wrote about Marina because she broke her promise to her, but she felt that was the only way. Colin is trying to make sure he redeems his mistake after Penelope called him out. All of these characters are flawed, but except Nigel, they are not evil
Tw: Rape Like dont get me wrong i like bridgerton s1 but i can't like daphne and simon due to the scene where daphne rapes simon , because she knew what she was doing , she purposefully tried to trick him & continued to do it even though he said no and stop clearly. It rubs me the wrong way that the show just brushes it off. Like yes she was naive and her mom shouldve told her about sex and simon shouldve clarified but that doesn't excuse what she did
Agreed, it really soured me toward her in S1 and I think the writers really dropped the ball in that she never apologized to Simon for taking away his agency.

I haven't read the book but from the tidbits I got it does seem like Phillip is not like Colin at all. He is very troubled and didn't come from a happy background like Colin. I cannot wait to learn more about him though!
I am a marina HATER and nothing can make me feel otherwise, she literally comes to town cause her father sent her away knowing she was pregnant but hoping she wasn’t (her not bleeding for another month at the featherington house confirmed it which is why she was so angry) not only was she sleeping around when she wasn’t suppose to, she was gonna baby trap another man? there’s nothing that can justify her actions. She deserve what she got and by the grace of GOD sir Philip crane came around and saved her ass. One of the things I love about Bridgerton is that the women are not perfect, they make mistakes, from misguided to pretty bad. Daphne, Marina, Penelope, Violet, Eloise, Kate, Edwina, Mary, Portia, all of them make questionable choices at some point, but we as the audience can see why they feel they need to do it, even if we don't necessarily agree.

The Bridgerton's do idealize their parent's marriage & it effects them differently. Seeing the difference between Eloise & Pen is interesting.
The Bridgerton's are a well respected & loving family. Anthony is the Viscount & he (or any of his other brothers) would support Eloise if push comes to shove. Eloise grew up hearing about her parents great love for each other & Daphne has succeeded at that as well.
Daphne is truly her mothers daughter. Eloise is a rebel. Francesca is in her own world. And Hyacinth looks up to Daphne.

1:36:19 I feel as though no one talks about this scene the way it should be talked about. As we know, Daphne takes control of this scene and sits on top of Simon trying to figure out if he is lying or not about being able to give her children. When Simon is close to finishing he realizes what Daphne is doing and tries to stop her. He specifically says wait two times trying to stop her but Daphne does not listen and continues, forcing Simon to finish inside her. Simon takes his consent away so what Daphne did is rape and I'm tired of people saying that its not.

This is definitely a valid comment! We do see in that situation how both parties were deeply in the wrong. Simon weaponized Daphne’s ignorance and took advantage of her, and it’s true, in the moment, Simon withdrew his consent. They did something absolutely dark and awful to each other.

This rewatch reminded me why I didn't like season 1. I found almost every character unbearable, especially Eloise, Daphne and the Duke. I had decided to not continue the series, but the final reveal about Lady Whistledown made me change my mind 'cause I adore Penelope. And I liked season 2 a lot more so I'm glad I gave it another chance. So excited for season 3!!!
All the characters are flawed and grow. I found Anthony so irritating yet loveable in both season and Daphne at least on season 2 I enjoyed her tipping Anthony to shreds
I don’t know why it took me so long to see the parallel of Daphne and Simon making the deal to fake court in the garden vs when Daphne and Simon make out in the garden and get caught!

Yes, each Bridgerton child gets a book (and hopefully their own seasons). The order for the books is Daphne, Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory & Hyacinth. However, because they revealed Penelope's Lady Whistledown identity so soon in the show, they are doing the Polin season first.
I'm curious as to how they'll do Eloise's story because her love interest from S2 Theo Sharpe wasn't in the books.... but her canon future husband's character was explored more as well...
The Bridgerton story I'm most looking forward to is Francesca's because (MAJOR SPOILER), her's starts out with her becoming a widow. So I'm looking forward to seeing the beginning/set up of her story happen in the background of seasons 3-5
From what I heard of Eloise’s story, I wonder if they’ll make a new love interest or something, given that her book love-interest was a widower of her distance cousin, when in the show she isn’t Eloise’s cousin anymore. Maybe Theo will actually make a comeback? Or her book love interest will have a more prominent role in the following seasons? Or maybe they’ll scrap her romance altogether and have her actually make her way in the world as a successful single woman

@MarcyStevonshy My bet is they'll keep her love interest because the upper class- working class trope already belongs to Benedict's story, and her and Theo would be a repeat of that. But I think they will change their story a LOT. Book Eloise and Show Eloise are two completely different entities (and tbh, I prefer book Eloise). They made her more of a hard-core feminist in the show, since in the books she isn't against the ideia of marriage at all, she simply is very picky and doesn't care about becoming a spinster until she finds the right person for her. She also isn't judgmental of her sisters for having different dreams, neither is so self-centered. They'll either have to completely change Philip as a character or have Eloise grow up a ton until her turn for them to work.
@blurrylinesx8039 I had the thought that, since they've already switched the order for Benedict and Colin's stories, they could possibly switch Eloise and Francesca's stories. Because, based on one of the sneak peak videos released for s3, we know her debut is s3 and I can only assume she'll be married her first season on the marriage market (she's a Brigerton, beautiful and accomplished). Her marriage and impending widow hood could unfold in the background of Benedict's season (4), Francesca's story post becoming a widow could be s5, and then Eloise s6. Plus it would allow Eloise more time to be considered a spinster and, as you said, mature

it is so obvious that the duke of hastings and daphine from season 1 of bridgerton have feelings for each other but they are too stubborn to admit it.
My problem is Penelope has the power of the written word. And she seems to be reckless with that power. She could have told Collin directly/discreetly that Marina was pregnant if she wanted to save him from a scam of a marriage. Instead she told the whole Ton. I believe her choice in doing so directly leads to Marina taking extreme/dangerous methods to force an abortion. When reputation is everything in this time/this culture, people have been known to commit suicide. It feels like Penelope doesn't have consideration/remorse for this as she continues to write. Even throwing Eloise under the bus in season two. But the audience is suppose to root for her and fuss at Collin for his comment because she the wallflower that nobody notices, how sad.
Maybe it's me, I don't like gossip culture. But I feel like there should be some fallout/repercussions for Penelope and amends to be made on her part.

Yeah, about Eloise's book. Pretty much EVERYONE in the fandom hates her book... So I'm going to be really interested to see how they adapt it in the show because they are going to have to change like the majority of what happens. Her husband is a very trash individual and thats putting it nicely... It's going to be really hard to make him likeable and make their love feel actually real cuz in the book... it doesn't, from what reviewers of the book series have said here on TH-cam. So Eloises season will be a season that I will be 1000% okay with them not being true to the source material. That would be truly wonderful. Lmao

But I have been reading a lot of comments these past years, and I am definately not the only one.
I read the book several times, he did in the end break the cycle of abuse.
I may be wrong, but many who hate a specific character are rather young,
and at that age, I may have seen things similiar.
Now I'm almost 60 and see things a bit different.
Not that I say any kind of abuse is OK, of course not, but I look at the context, and there are people who deserve a second chance, because not everyone who does something bad is per se a bad person.
I had a difficult father, that did have an impact on my life.
But I have made peace with it, I don't hate.
I actually liked her book. Though much like s2 and for what I am seeing of s3 they are definitely going to tweak things around so might help those who didn’t like her book as much lol tho I really doubt they will change the pairs of the Bridgertons considering that’s basically the adaptation 😂

17:28 Yea, the ending of this episode is my favorite scene in the entire series. It is easily the most 'magical' moment imo. I think when they made season 1, everyone was excited and they sold the ending to the first episode wonderfully. Definitely gets you hooked into the show right away.

She should have pet Eloíse know but what she upykwtpeu did is going to have very little impact on el as we will see in season 3. If was minor especially for a bridgeton, but she should have told Eloíse and they would have likely decided to do the same thing but Eloíse wouldn’t have been blindsided

I don’t think Simon was bitter and grumpy. Because of his trauma he is hardwired to think that love doesn’t matter. Simon genuinely doesn’t think he’s capable of being loved or properly loving someone else. That is unfortunately how his brain operates and it’s actually very depressing. It’s not something you just “get over” but people repeatedly get upset at him all throughout this season because “be a man and get over it.”

Aside from a deathbed promise to your deadbeat dad to never be happy being stupid, knowing the context of the minority gentry from Queen Charlotte, it is super petty of the Duke to throw away that title considering the history. It would go to SOMEONE no matter what- a cousin, illegitimate kid, etc. someone would get it. What a dumb promise.

rewatching season one made me realize that the first season's storyline was WAY more interesting and the only thing that made season 2 feel like it was superior was Simone and Jonathan's chemistry (don't get me wrong I still prefer season 2 though)
